Matthew: Chapter 05

5:13 Ye are the salt of the erthe: but yf the salt haue lost hir saltnes/ what can be salted ther with? It is thence forthe good for nothinge/ but to be cast oute/ and to be troaden vnder fote of men. Ye are the salt of the earth: But yf the salt haue lost the saltnes, what shalbe seasoned therwith? It is thence forth good for nothynge, but to be cast out, and to be troaden downe of men. Ye are the salt of the erthe: but yf the salt haue lost hir saltnes/ what can be salted ther with? It is thence forthe good for nothinge/ but to be cast oute/ and to be troaden vnder fote of men. Ye are the salte of the earth: but if the salte haue lost his sauour wher with shal one salt? It is thence forthe good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be troden vnder fote of men.
5:14 Ye are the lyght of the worlde. A cite that is set on an hyll/ cannot be hyd/ Ye are the light of the world. A cytie that is set on an hyll cannot be hyd, Ye are the lyght of the worlde. 5:16 Let youre lyght so shyne before men/ that they maye se youre good workes/ and glorify youre father which is in heuen. Let your light so shyne before men. 5:17 Thinke not that I am come to destroye the lawe/ or the Prophetes: no I am not come to destroye them/ but to fulfyll them. 5:18 For truely I saye vnto you/ tyll heuen and erth perisshe/ one iott or one tytle of the lawe shall not scape/ tyll all be fulfilled. 5:19 Whosoeuer breaketh one of these lest commaundmentes/ and teacheth men so/ he shalbe called the leest in the kyngdome of heuen. But whosoeuer obserueth and teacheth/ the same shalbe called greate in the kyngdome of heuen. 5:20 For I saye vnto you/ except youre rightewesnes excede the rightewesnes of the Scribes and Pharises/ ye cannot entre into the kyngdome of heuen. For I saye vnto you: except your righteousnesse exceade the ryghteousnesse of the Scribes and Pharises, ye cannot entre into the kyngdome of heauen. For I saye vnto you/ except youre rightewesnes excede the rightewesnes of the Scribes and Pharises/ ye cannot entre into the kyngdome of heuen. For I say vnto you, except your righteou8nes exceade the righteonsnes of the Scribes and Pharises, ye ahal not enter in to the kingdome of heaaen.
5:21 Ye haue herde howe it was sayd vnto them of the olde tyme: Thou shalt not kyll. For whosoeuer kylleth/ shall be in daunger of iudgement. Ye haue heard that it was sayd vnto them of the olde tyme. Thou shalt no kyll: whosoeuer killeth, shalbe in daunger of iudgement. Ye haue herde howe it was sayd vnto them of the olde tyme: Thou shalt not kyll. For whosoeuer kylleth/ shall be in daunger of iudgement. Ye haue heard how it was aid vnto them of the olde time, Thou ibalt not kil: For whosoeuer killeth, shal be culpable of iudgement.
5:22 But I say vnto you/ whosoeuer is angre with his brother/ shalbe in daunger of iudgement. Whosoeuer sayeth vnto his brother racha/ shalbe in daunger of a counsell. But whosoeuer sayeth thou fole/ shalbe in daunger of hell fyre/ But I say vnto you: that whosoeuer is angrye with hys brother (vnaduysedly) shalbe in daunger of iudgement. And whosoeuer saye vnto hys brother Racha, shalbe in daunger of a councell. But whosoeuer sayeth thou foole, shalbe in daunger of hell fyre. But I say vnto you/ whosoeuer is angre with his brother/ shalbe in daunger of iudgement. Whosoeuer sayeth vnto his brother racha/ shalbe in daunger of a counsell. And whosoeuer saieth vnto bis brother Racha, shal be worthie to be by the Council: And whosoeuer i say, thou Foole, shal be worthy to be ponished with hel fire.
5:23 Therfore when thou offrest thy gifte at the altare/ and their remembrest that thy brother hath ought agaynst the: Therfore, yf thou offrest thy gyfte at the aulter, and there remembrest that thy brother hath ought agaynst the: Therfore when thou offrest thy gifte at the altare/ and their remembrest that thy brother hath ought agaynst the: Yf then thou bringe thy gyft to the aultare, and there remembrest that thy brother hath oght against thee,

5:25 Agre with thyne aduersary quicklye/ whyles thou arte in the waye with him/ lest that aduersary delyuer the to the iudge/ and the iudge deliuer the to the mynister/ and then thou be cast into preson. 5:26 Verely I say vnto the: thou shalt not come out thence tyll thou haue payed the vtmost farthinge. 5:27 Ye haue hearde howe it was sayde to thē of olde tyme. Thou shalt not committ aduoutrye. Ye haue herde that it was sayd vnto them of olde tyme. Thou shall no committ aduoutrye. Ye haue hearde howe it was sayde to thē of olde tyme. Thou shalt not committ aduoutrye. Ye haue beard that it was sayd to them of olde time: Thou shalt not commit aduoutrie.
5:28 But I say vnto you/ that whosoeuer looketh on a wyfe/ lustinge after her/ hath cōmitted aduoutrie with hyr alredy in his hert. But I say vnto you that whosoeuer loketh on another mans wyfe to lust after her, hath commytted aduoutrye with her all ready in hys hert. But I say vnto you/ that whosoeuer looketh on a wyfe/ lustinge after her/ hath cōmitted aduoutrie with hyr alredy in his hert. 5:29 Wherfore yf thy ryght eye offende the/ plucke him out/ & cast him from the. Better it is for the that one of thy mēbres perisshe/ then that thy hole body shuld be cast into hell. Yf thy ryght eye hynder the, plucke hym out, and cast hym from the. For better it is vnto the, that one of thy membres perysshe, then that thy whole body shuld be cast into hell. Wherfore yf thy ryght eye offende the/ plucke him out/ & cast him from the. Better it is for the that one of thy mēbres perisshe/ then that thy hole body shuld be cast into hell. Wherforeif thyright eye cause thee to offend, plucke it out, and cast it from thee: for better it is for thee, that one of thy members perish, then that thy whole body sholde be cast into hel.
5:30 Also yf thy right honde offende the/ cut him of & cast him from the. Better it is that one of thy membres perisshe/ then that all thy body shulde be caste in to hell. And yf thy ryght hande hynder the, cutt hym of, and cast hym from the. For better it is vnto the, that one of thy membres perysshe, then that all thy body shulde be cast into hell. Also yf thy right honde offende the/ cut him of & cast him from the. Better it is that one of thy membres perisshe/ then that all thy body shulde be caste in to hell. Also if thy right hand make thee to offend, cut it of, and cast it from thee: better it is that one of thy membres perish, then that all thy body should be cast into hel.
5:31 It is sayd/ whosoeuer put awaye his wyfe/ let him geue her a testymonyall also of the deuorcement. It is sayd, whosoeuer putteth awaye his wyfe, lett hym geue her a letter of the deuorcement. 5:32 But I saye vnto you: whosoeuer put awaye his wyfe (except it be for fornicacion) causeth her to breake matrymony. And whosoeuer maryeth her that is deuorsed/ breaketh wedlocke. But I say vnto you: that whosoeuer doth put awaye his wyfe (excepte it be for fornycacyon) causeth her to breake matrymony. And whosoeuer maryeth her that is deuorsed commiteth aduoutrye. But I saye vnto you: whosoeuer put awaye his wyfe (except it be for fornicacion) causeth her to breake matrymony. And whosoeuer maryeth her that is deuorsed/ breaketh wedlocke. But I say vnto you, who soener shal put away his wife (except it be for fornication) causeth her to be an aduouterer, And whosoeuer shal marie her that is deuorced, committeth aduoutrie.
5:33 Agayne ye haue hearde how it was sayd to them of olde tyme/ thou shalt not forswere thy selfe/ but shalt performe thyne othe to God. Agayne, ye haue hearde how it was sayd to them of olde tyme: thou shalt not forsweare thy selfe, but shalt perfourme vnto the Lorde those thinges that thou swearest. Agayne ye haue hearde how it was sayd to them of olde tyme/ thou shalt not forswere thy selfe/ but shalt performe thyne othe to God. Againe, ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of olde time, Thou shalt not forsweare thy self, but shalt perfourme thine othe to God.
5:34 But I saye vnto you/ swere not at all: nether by heauen/ for it is Goddes seate: But I say vnto you: sweare not at all: nether by heauen, for it is Goddes seate, But I saye vnto you/ swere not at all: nether by heauen/ for it is Goddes seate: But I say vnto you, sweare not at all, nether by heauen, for it is Goddes seat.

5:39 But I saye to you/ that ye resist not wrōge. But whosoeuer geue the a blowe on thy right cheke/ tourne to him the other. But I saye vnto you, that ye resist not euell. 5:40 And yf eny man will sue the at the lawe/ and take awaye thy coote/ let him haue thy cloocke also. And yf eny man wyll sue the at the law, and take awaye thy coate, let him haue thy clooke also. And yf eny man will sue the at the lawe/ and take awaye thy coote/ let him haue thy cloocke also. And if any man wil sue thee at the law, and take away thy coate, let him haue thy cloke also.
5:41 And whosoeuer will compell the to goo a myle/ goo with him twayne. And whosoeuer wyll compell the to go a myle, go with him twayne. And whosoeuer will compell the to goo a myle/ goo with him twayne. And whoseuer wil compel thee to go a myle, go wyth him twaine.
5:42 Geue to him that axeth/ and from him that wolde borowe tourne not awaye. Geue to him that asketh the, and from hym that wolde borowe, turne not thou awaye. 5:43 Ye haue hearde how it is sayde: thou shalt loue thyne neyghbour/ & hate thyne enimy. Ye haue heard that it is sayde, thou shalt loue thyne neyghbour, and hate thyne enemy. 5:44 But I saye vnto you/ loue youre enimyes. Blesse thē that coursse you. Do good to them that hate you. Praye for thē which doo you wrōge and persecute you/ But I saye vnto you: loue your enemyes. Blesse them that curse you. Do good to them that hate you. Praye for them which hurt you and persecute you, But I saye vnto you/ loue youre enimyes. Blesse thē that coursse you. Do good to them that hate you. 5:45 that ye maye be the childern of youre father that is in heauē: for he maketh his sunne to aryse on the yuell/ & on the good/ and sendeth his reyn on the iuste and vniuste. that ye maye be the children of your father which is in heauen: for he maketh his sonne to aryse on the euell, & on the good, & sendeth rayne on the iust & on the vniust. that ye maye be the childern of youre father that is in heauē: for he maketh his sunne to aryse on the yuell/ & on the good/ and sendeth his reyn on the iuste and vniuste. That ye may be the children of your father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sunne to arise on the euil and on the good, and sendeth his raine on the iust, and vniust.
5:46 For yf ye loue them/ which loue you: what rewarde shall ye haue? Do not the publicans euen so? For yf ye loue them which loue you: what reward haue ye? Do not the publycans also euen the same? For yf ye loue them/ which loue you: what rewarde shall ye haue? Do not the publicans euen so? For if ye loue them, which loue you, what reward shal you haue? Do not the Publicans euen the same?
5:47 And yf ye be frendly to youre brethren onlye: what singuler thinge doo ye? Do not the Publicans lyke wyse? And yf ye make moche of your brethren only, what singuler thinge do ye? Do not also the publicans lykewise? And yf ye be frendly to youre brethren onlye: what singuler thinge doo ye? Do not the Publicans lyke wyse? 5:48 Ye shall therfore be perfecte/ euē as youre father which is in heauen/ is perfecte. ye shall therfore be perfecte, euen as your father which is in heauen is perfecte. Ye shall therfore be perfecte/ euē as youre father which is in heauen/ is perfecte. Ye shal therfore be perfect, enen as your father which is in heauen is perfect.
