Matthew: Chapter 27

27:1 WHen the mornynge was come/ all the chefe prestes and the elders of ye people helde a coūsayle agaynst Iesus/ to put hym to deeth/ When the mornynge was come, all the chefe prestes and the elders of the people helde a counsayle agaynst Iesus, to put him to deeth, VVhen the morninge was come/ all the chefe prestes & the elders of the people helde a counsayle agaynst Iesus/ to put him to deeth/ WHEN the momynge was come, all the chief Priestes, and the Elders of the people tooke counsel agaynst Iesus, to put hym to death.

27:3 Then when Iudas whych betrayed hym/ sawe that he was condēpned/ he repēted him selfe/ and brought agayne the .xxx. plates of syluer to the chefe Prestes & elders Then Iudas (which had betrayed him) seyng that he was condempned, repented him selfe, and brought agayne the thirtye plates of syluer, to the chefe Prestes and elders, Then when Iudas which betrayed him/ sawe that he was condēpned/ he repented him selfe/ and brought agayne the .xxx. plates of syluer to the chefe Prestes and elders Then when Iudas whych betrayed hym, sawe that he was condemned, he repented hym self, and broght againe the thirty peeces of syluer to the chief Priestes and Elders,
27:4 sayinge: I haue synned betrayinge the innocēt bloud. And they sayde: what is that to vs? Se thou to yt. sayinge: I haue synned, betrayinge the innocent bloud. And they sayd: what is that to vs? Se thou to that. sayinge: I haue synned betrayinge the innocent bloud. And they sayde: what is that to vs? Se thou to that. Saying, I haue synned betraying the innocent blond. And they sayd, What is that to vs? See thou to that.
27:5 And he cast doune ye syluer plates in ye tēple & departed/ and went & hounge him selfe. And he cast downe the syluer plates in the temple, and departed and went and hanged hym selfe. 27:6 And the chefe prestes toke ye syluer plates & sayd: it is not lawfull for to put thē into ye treasure/ because it is ye pryce of bloud. 27:9 Then was fulfylled/ yt which was spoken by Ieremy the Prophet sayinge: & they toke .xxx. syluer plates/ the prise of hym yt was valued/ whō they bought of ye childrē of Israel/ Then was fulfylled, that which was spoken by Ieremy the Prophet, sayinge: and they toke thirtye syluer plates, the pryse of him that was valued, whom they bought of the chyldren of Israel, Then was fulfylled/ that which was spoken by Ieremy the Prophet sayinge: & they toke .xxx. syluer plates/ the prise of him that was valued/ whom they bought of the chyldrē of Israel/ (Then was fulfylled that which was spoken by Ieremie the Prophet, saying, And they toke thirty syluer peeces, the price of him that was valued, whome they boght of the chyldren of Israel.
27:10 & they gaue thē for ye potters felde/ as the Lorde appoynted me. and gaue them for the potters felde, as the Lorde apoynted me. and they gaue them for the potters felde/ as the Lorde appoynted me. And they gaue them for the potters fielde, as the Lord appointed me.)
27:11 Iesus stode before ye debite: & ye debite asked him sayinge: arte thou ye king of the Iues? Iesus sayd vnto hym: Thou sayest. Iesus stode before the debite, and the debite asked him, sayinge: art thou the kyng of the Iewes? Iesus sayeth vnto him: Thou sayest. And Iesus stode before the Deputie, and the Deputie asked him, saying, Art thou the kyng of the Iewes? Iesus sayd vnto hym. Thou sayest so.
27:12 And whē he was accused of the chefe prestes & elders/ he answered nothynge. And when he was accused of the chefe prestes & elders, he answered nothyng. And when he was accused of the chefe Prestes and elders/ he answered nothinge. And when he was accused of the chief Priestes, and Elders, he answered nothyng.
27:13 Then sayd Pilate vnto hym: hearest thou not/ how many thinges they laye agaynst the? Then sayeth Pilate vnto him: hearest thou not, how many witnesses they laye agaynst the? Then sayd Pilate vnto him: hearest thou not/ how many thinges they laye ageynste the? Then sayd Pilate vnto him, Hearest thow not how many thinges they laye against thee?
27:14 And he answered him to neuer a worde: in so moche yt the debite marueylled greatlye. and he answered him to neuer a worde: in so moch that the debyte marueyled greatlye. 27:15 At that feest/ the debite was wonte to deliuer vnto the people a presoner/ whom they wolde desyer. 27:18 For he knewe well/ that for enuie they had delyuered hym. For he knewe that for enuie they had delyuered him. For he knewe well/ that for enuie they had deliured him. For he knewe wel, that for enuie they had deliuered him.
27:19 When he was set doune to geue iudgemēt/ his wyfe sent to hym sayinge: haue thou nothinge to do with yt iuste mā. For I haue suffered many thynges thys daye in a dreame about hym. When he was set downe to geue iudgement, his wyfe sent vnto him sayinge: haue thou nothinge to do with that iust man. For I haue suffered many thinges this daye in my slepe because of him. When he was set doune to geue iudgemēt/ his wyfe sent to him sayinge: haue thou nothinge to do with that iuste man. For I haue suffered many thinges this daye in a dreame about him. When he was set downe to geue iudgement, his wyfe sent to hym, saying, Haue thou nothing to do with that iuste man. For I haue suffered many thynges thys day in my dreame by reason of him.
27:20 But ye chefe prestes & the elders had persuaded ye people/ that they shulde aske Barrabas/ and shulde destroye Iesus. But the chefe prestes and the elders persuaded the people, that they shulde aske Barrabas, and destroye Iesus. But the chefe Prestes and the elders had perswaded the people/ that they shulde axe Barrabas/ and shulde destroye Iesus. 27:21 Then ye debite answered & sayde vnto thē: whether of the twayne will ye yt I let loosse vnto you? And they sayd/ Barrabas. The debite answered, and sayde vnto them: whether of the twayne, will ye, that I let loosse vnto you? They sayd: Barrabas. Then the debite answered and sayde vnto them: whether of the twayne will ye that I let loosse vnto you? And they sayde/ Barrabas. Then the Deputie answered, and sayd vnto them, Whether of the twayne wil ye that I let loose vnto you f And they said, Barabbas.
27:22 Pilate sayde vnto thē: what shall I do then with Iesus which is called Christ? They all sayde to him: let hym be crucifyed. Pilate sayde vnto them: what shall I do then with Iesus whych is called Christ? They all sayd vnto him: let him be crucifyed. 27:23 Then sayde ye debite: what euyll hath he done? And they cryed ye more sayinge: let him be crucyfyed. The debite sayde: what euyll hath he done? But they cryed the more, sayinge: let him be crucifyed. Then sayde the debite: what euyll hath he done? And they cryed the more sayinge: let him be crucified. Then sayd the Deputie.Whateuylhathhe done ? And they cried the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
27:24 Whē Pilate sawe that he preuayled nothinge/ but yt moare busines was made/ he toke water & wasshed hys hādes before ye people sayinge: I am innocēt of ye bloud of thys iuste person/ & yt ye shall se. When Pilate sawe that he coulde preuayle nothinge, but that more busynes was made, he toke water, and wasshed hys handes before the people, sayinge: I am innocent of the bloud of this iust person, ye shall se. When Pylate sawe/ that he preuayled nothinge/ but that moare busines was made/ he toke water and wasshed his hondes before the people sayinge: I am innocent of the bloud of this iuste person/ and that ye shall se. When Pilate sawe that he preuayled nothing, but that more busines was made, he toke water and wasshed hys handes before the people, saying, I am innocent of the bloud of thys iuste person, take heed what ye do.
27:25 Then answered all ye people & sayd: his bloud be on vs/ & on oure chyldrē. Then answered all the people, and sayd his bloud be on vs, and on oure children. Then answered all the people and sayde: his bloud be on vs/ and on oure chyldren. Then answered all the people, and sayd, His bloud be on vs, and on our chyldren.
27:26 Then let he Barrabas loose vnto them/ and scourged Iesus/ and delyuered hym to be crucyfyed. Then let he Barrabas loose vnto them, and scourged Iesus, and delyuered him to be crucifyed. 27:27 Then ye soudeours of ye debite toke Iesus vnto the comen hall/ & gathered vnto him al the company. Then the souldeours of the Deputie, toke Iesus into the common hall, and gathered about him all the bande of their ampagnie.

27:30 and spitted vpō hym/ and toke the rede and smote hym on the heed. and whan they had spytt vpon him, they toke the rede, and smote him on the heed. and spitted vpon him/ and toke the rede and smoote him on the heed. And spitted vpon hym, and toke I a rede, and smote hym on the head.
27:31 And when they had mocked him/ they toke the robe of hym agayne/ and put hys awne rayment on him/ & leed him awaye to crucify him. 27:32 And as they came out/ they foūde a mā of Cyren/ named Simon: hym they cōpelled to beare his crosse. 27:34 they gaue him veneger to drincke mēgled with gall. And whē he had tasted therof/ he wolde not dryncke. and gaue hym veneger to drincke myngled with gall. 27:35 When they had crucifyed him/ they parted his garmentes/ & dyd cast lottes: to fulfyll yt was spoken by the Prophet. They deuyded my garmētes amonge thē: & vpō my vesture dyd cast lottes. When they had crucifyed him, they parted his garmentes, & dyd cast lottes: that it myght be fulfylled which was spoken by the Prophet. 27:37 and they set vp ouer hys heed the cause of hys deeth wryttē. 27:38 And there were two theues crucyfyed wyth hym/ one on the ryght hande/ and another on the lyfte. Then were there two theues crucifyed with him, one on the ryght hande, and another on the lyfte. And there were two theues crucified with him/ one on the ryght honde/ and a nother on the lyfte. And there were two theeues crucified with him, one on the ryght hand, and another on the lyft.
27:39 They yt passed by/ reuyled him waggynge their heeddes They that passed by, reuyled him, waggynge their heades, They that passed by/ reuyled him waggynge ther heeddes And they that passed by, reuyled hym, waggyng theyr heades:
27:40 & sayinge: thou yt destroyest the tēple of God & byldest it in thre dayes/ saue thy selfe. If thou be the sonne of God/ come doune frō ye crosse. and sayinge: thou that destroydest the temple of God and dyddest bylde it in thre dayes, saue thy selfe If thou be the sonne of God, come downe from the crosse. & sayinge: Thou that destroyest the temple of God and byldest it in thre dayes/ saue thy selfe. If thou be the sonne of God/ come doune from the crosse. And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buyldest it in three dayes, saue thy selfe. If thou be the Sonne of God, come downe from the crosse.
27:41 Likwyse also ye hye prestſ mockinge him with the Scrybes and elders sayde: Like wyse also the hye prestes, mocking him with the Scribes and elders sayde: Lykwyse also the hye Prestes mockinge him with the Scribes and elders sayde: Likewy se also the hye Priestes mockyag Mm, with the Scribes, Elders, and Pharises, sayd,
27:42 He saued other/ hym selfe he cannot saue. If he be ye kynge of Israel: let hym now come doune from the crosse/ & we will beleue him. He saued other, him selfe can he not saue. 27:44 That same also the theues which were crucified wt him/ cast in his tethe. The theues also, which were crucifyed with him, cast the same in his tethe. 27:45 From the syxte houre was there dercknes ouer all ye lande vnto the nynth houre. From the syxte houre was there dercknes ouer all the lande vnto the nynth houre. 27:46 And about ye nynth houre Iesus cryed wt a loude voyce/ sayinge: Eli Eli lama asbathani. That is to saye: my God/ my God/ why hast thou forsaken me? And about the nynth houre, Iesus cryed, wyth a loude voyce, sayinge: Eli, Eli lamasabaththany. That is to saye: my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? And about the nynth houre Iesus cryed with a loude voyce/ sayinge: Eli Eli lama asbathani. That is to saye/ my God/ my God/ why hast thou forsaken me? And aboute the nynth houre, Iesus cryed with a kmde voyce, saying, Eli, Eli, lamasabarthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
27:47 Some of thē that stode there/ when they herde that/ sayde: This mā calleth for Helias. Some of them that stode there, when they herde that, sayde: This man calleth for Helias. Some of them that stode there/ when they herde that/ sayde: This man calleth for Helyas. And some of them that stode there, when they heard that, sayd, This man cafleth for Elias.
27:48 And streyght waye one of thē rāne & toke a sponge & fylled it full of veneger/ & put it on a rede/ and gaue hym to dryncke. 27:54 Whē ye Cēturion & they that were with him watchinge Iesus/ sawe ye erth quake and those thinges which happened/ they feared greatly/ sayīge. Of a surete this was the sonne of God. When the Centurion and they that were with him watchinge Iesus, sawe the erth quake, those thinges which happened, they feared greatly, saying: Trulye, this was the sonne of God. 27:55 And many wemē were there/ beholdinge him a farre of/ which folowed Iesus frō Galile/ mynistrynge vnto hym. And many wemen were there (beholdinge hym a farre of) whych folowed Iesus from Galile, mynistringe vnto him. 27:56 Amonge whych was Mary Magdalen/ & Mary ye mother of Iames & Ioses/ and the mother of Zebedes childrē. Amonge which was Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of Iames and Ioses, and the mother of Zebedes chyldren. Amonge which was Mary Magdalen/ and Mary the mother of Iames and Ioses/ and the mother of zebedes chyldren. Among which was Marie Magdalene, and Marie the mother of lames and loses, and the mother of Zebedes sonnes.
27:57 Whē ye euē was come/ there came a riche mā of Aramathia named Ioseph/ which man also was Iesus dyscyple. When the euen was come there came a riche man of Aramathia named Ioseph, which also was Iesus disciple: When the euen was come/ there came a ryche man of Aramathia named Ioseph/ which same also was Iesus disciple. When the euen was come, there came a riche man of Arimathea, named Ioseph, which man also had bene Iesus disciple.
27:58 He went to Pilate & begged the body of Iesus. Then Pilate commaunded the bodye to be delyuered. He went to Pilate and begged the body of Iesus. Then Pilate commaunded the bodye to be delyuered.
