Matthew: Chapter 26

26:17 The fyrst daye of swete breed the disciples came to Iesus sayinge vnto him: where wilt thou that we prepare for the to eate the paschall lambe? And he sayd, Go into the citie, to a certayne man, and say to hym, The Master sayeth, my time is at hand. I wyl kepe myne Easter at thy house with my disciples.
26:19 And the disciples dyd as Iesus had apoynted them/ and made redy the esterlambe. And the disciples dyd as Iesus had apoynted them, and they made ready the passeouer. 26:21 And as they dyd eate/ he sayd: Verely I saye vnto you/ that one of you shall betraye me. And as they dyd eate, he sayd: Verely, I saye vnto you, that one of you shall betraye me. 26:22 And they were excedinge sorowfull/ & beganne euery one of thē to saye vnto him: is it I master? 26:23 He answered & sayde: he that deppeth his honde with me in the disshe/ the same shall betraye me. 26:24 The sonne of mā goeth as it is writtē of him: but wo be to that mā/ by whom the sonne of man shalbe betrayed. It had bene good for that man/ yf he had neuer bene borne. The sonne of man truly goeth, as it is written of him: but wo vnto that man, by whom the sonne of man is betrayed. It had bene good for that man, if he had not bene borne. 26:25 Then Iudas which betrayed him/ answered & sayd: is it I master? He sayde vnto him: thou hast sayde. Then Iudas which betrayed him, answered, and sayd: master, is it I? 26:26 As they dyd eate/ Iesus toke breed & gaue thankes/ brake it/ & gaue it to the disciples/ & sayde: Take/ eate this is my body. Whan they were eatyng, Iesus toke bread, and whan he had geuen thankes, he brake it, & gaue it to the disciples, & sayd: Take, eate, this is my body. As they dyd eate/ Iesus toke breed & gaue thankes/ brake it/ & gaue it to the disciples/ & sayde: Take/ eate this is my body. And as they dyd eat, Iesus toke bred and gaue thankes, brake it, and gaue it to the disciples, and sayd, Take, eat, this is my body.
26:27 And he toke the cup/ & thanked/ and gaue it them/ sayinge: drinke of it euery one. And he toke the cup, & thanked, and gaue it them, sayinge: drincke ye all of this. 26:28 For this is my bloude of the new testament/ that shalbe shedde for many/ for the remission of synnes. 26:29 I saye vnto you: I will not drinke hence forth of this frute of the vyne tree/ vntyll that daye/ when I shall drinke it new with you in my fathers kyngdome. 26:31 Then sayde Iesus vnto them: all ye shalbe offended by me this nyght. For it is wryttē: I will smyte the shepeherde/ & the shepe of the flocke shalbe scattered abroade. Then sayeth Iesus vnto them: all ye shalbe offended because of me this nyght. For it is wrytten: I will smyte the shepeherde, & the shepe of the flocke shalbe scattered abroade. 26:33 Peter answered/ and sayde vnto him: though all men shulde be offended by the/ yet wolde I neuer be offended. 26:34 Iesus sayde vnto him: Verely I saye vnto the/ that this same nyght before the cocke crowe/ thou shalt denye me thryse. 26:35 Peter sayde vnto him: If I shulde dye with the/ yet wolde I not denye the. Lyke wyse also sayde all the disciples. Peter sayde vnto him. Yee, though I shuld dye with the, yet will I not denye the: Like wyse also sayde all the disciples. Peter sayde vnto him: If I shulde dye with the/ yet wolde I not denye the. Lyke wyse also sayde all the disciples. Peter sayd vnto him, Thogh I should dye with thee, yet would I not deny thee. Lykewise also, sayd all the disciples.
26:36 Then went Iesus with them into a place which is called Gethsemane/ and sayde vnto the disciples/ sit ye here whill I go and praye yonder. Then came Iesus wt them vnto a farme. place (which is called Gethsemane) and sayde vnto the disciples: syt ye here while I go and praye yonder. 26:37 And he toke with him Peter and the two sonnes of zebede/ & began to wexe sorowfull and to be in agonye. 26:39 And he went a lytell aparte/ & fell flat on his face/ and prayed sayinge: O my father/ yf it be possible/ let this cuppe passe from me: neuerthelesse/ not as I will/ but as thou wilt. 26:40 And he came vnto the disciples/ and founde them a slepe/ & sayde to Peter: what/ coulde ye not watche with me one houre: And he came vnto the disciples, & founde them aslepe, and sayeth vnto Peter: what, coulde ye not watch with me one houre: And he came vnto the disciples/ and founde them a slepe/ & sayde to Peter: what/ coulde ye not watche with me one houre: And he came vnto the disciples, and found them a depe, and sayd to Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one houre?
26:41 watche & praye/ that ye fall not into temptacion. The sprite is willinge/ but the flesshe is weake. watche, and praye, that ye entre not into temptacyon. Then commeth he to his disciples, and sayeth vnto them Slepe on now, and take youre rest. Beholde, the houre is at hande & the sonne of man is betrayed into the handes of synners. Then came he to his disciples & sayde vnto them: Slepe hence forth & take youre reest. Take hede the houre is at honde/ and the sonne of man shalbe betrayed into the hondes of synners. Then came he to his disciples and saydvntothem, Slepe henceforth, and take your rest. Beholde the houre is at hand, and the Sonne of man is betrayed into the handes of synners.

26:47 Whill he yet spake: lo/ Iudas one of the .xij. came/ and with him a greate multitude with sweardes and staues/ sent from the chefe prestes and elders of the people. Whil he yet spake: lo: Iudas one of the nombre of the twelue, came & with him a greate multitude, wt sweardes and staues, sent from the chefe prestes and elders of the people. Whill he yet spake: lo/ Iudas one of the .xij. came/ and with him a greate multitude with sweardes and staues/ sent from the chefe prestes and elders of the people. Whyle he yet spake, lo, Iudas one of the twelue came, and with hym a great multitude with swordes and staues, sent from the Priestes and Elders of the people.
26:48 And he that betrayed him/ had geuē a token/ sayinge: whosoeuer I kysse/ that same is he/ laye hondes on him. But he that betrayed him gaue them a token, sayinge: whomsoeuer I kysse, that same is he, hold him fast. 26:51 And beholde/ one of them which were with Iesus/ stretched oute his honde and drue his swearde/ and stroke a seruaunt of the hye preste/ and smote of his eare. And beholde, one of them whych were with Iesus, stretched out his hande, and drue his swearde, and stroke a seruaunt of the hye hye prestes, and smote of his eare. 26:52 Then sayde Iesus vnto him: put vp thy swearde into his sheathe. For all that ley hōd on the swearde/ shall perisshe with the swearde. Then sayd Iesus vnto him: put vp thy swearde into his sheath. For All they that take the swearde, shall perishe with the swearde. Then sayde Iesus vnto him: put vp thy swearde into his sheathe. 26:53 Ether thinkest thou that I cannot now praye to my father/ & he shall geue me moo then .xij. legions of angels? Thinkest thou that I cannot now praye to my father, and he shall geue me more then twelue Legions of angels? 26:55 The same tyme sayde Iesus to the multitude: ye be come out as it were vnto a thefe/ with sweardes & staues for to take me. I sate daylie teachinge in the temple amonge you/ & ye toke me not. In that same houre sayde Iesus to the multitude: ye be come out as it were vnto a thefe, with swerdes and staues, for to take me. I sat daylie with you, teachinge in the temple, and ye toke me not. The same tyme sayde Iesus to the multitude: ye be come out as it were vnto a thefe/ with sweardes & staues for to take me. I sate daylie teachinge in the temple amonge you/ & ye toke me not. The same tyme sayd Iesus to the multitude, Ye be come out as it were against a thefe, with swordes, and staues, for to take me. I sate dayly teaching in the temple among you, and ye toke me not.
26:56 All this was done that the scriptures of the Prophetes myght be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsoke him & fleed.
