Matthew: Chapter 22

22:1 ANd Iesus answered/ and spake vnto them agayne/ in similitudes sayinge. And Iesus answered, & spake vnto them agayne by parables and sayde. ANd Iesus answered/ and spake vnto them agayne/ in similitudes sayinge. AND Iesus answered, and spake vnto them agayne in similitudes, saying,
22:2 The kyngdome of heuen is lyke vnto a certayne kynge/ which maryed his sonne/ The kyngdome of heauen is lyke vnto a man that was a kynge, whych made a mariage for hys sonne The kyngdome of heuen is lyke vnto a certayne kynge/ which maryed his sonne/ The kyngdome of heauen is like vnto a certayne kyng which maried his sonne.
22:3 and sent forth his seruantes/ to call them that were byd to the weddinge/ and they wolde not come. & sent forth his seruauntes, to call them that were byd to the weddynge, & they wolde not come. and sent forth his seruantes/ to call them that were byd to the weddinge/ and they wolde not come. 22:4 Ageyne he sent forth other seruauntes/ sayinge: Tell them which are bydden: beholde I haue prepared my dynner/ myne oxen and my fatlinges are kylled/ and all thinges are redy/ come vnto the mariage. Agayne he sent forth other seruantes, saying, Tel them which are bydden, Beholde I haue prepared my dinner, mine oxen and my fattinges are killed, and all thinges are ready, come vnto the mariage.
22:5 But they made lyght of it/ and went their wayes: one to his ferme place/ a nother about his marchaundise/ But they made lyght of it, & went their wayes: one to his ferme place, another to hys marchaundise, But they made lyght of it/ and went their wayes: one to his ferme place/ a nother about his marchaundise/ But they made light of it, and went their wayes, one to his ferme place, another about his marchandise.

22:7 When the kynge hearde that/ he was wroth/ and send forth his warryers and distroyed those murtherers/ and brent vp their cite. But when the kyng hearde therof, he was wroth, & sent forth his men of warre & destroyed those murtherers, and brent vp theyr cytie. 22:8 Then sayde he to his seruauntes: the weddinge was prepared. But they which were bydden/ were not worthy. Then sayd he to his seruauntes: the mariage in dede is prepared. Then sayd he to his seruantes, Truly the weddynge is prepared: But they which were bidden, were not worthy.
22:9 Go ye therfore out into the hye wayes/ and as many as ye fynde/ byd them to the mariage. Goo ye therfore out into the hye wayes: & as many as ye fynde byd them to the mariage. 22:10 The seruaūtes went out into the hye wayes/ and gaddered togeder as many as they coulde fynde/ both good & bad/ and the weddinge was furnysshed with gestes. 22:11 Then the kynge came in/ to viset the gestes/ and spyed there a man which had not on a weddinge garment/ Then the kyng came in, to se the gestes, & whan he spyed there a man, whych had not on a weddynge garment, Then the kynge came in/ to viset the gestes/ and spyed there a man which had not on a weddinge garment/ Then the king came in, to see the geastes, and spyed there a man which had not on a weddyng garment.
22:12 & sayde vnto him: frende/ how fortuned it that thou camest in hyther and hast not on a wedding garment? And he was euen spechlesse. he sayd vnto hym: frende, how camest thou in hyther not hauyng a weddynge garment? 22:13 Then sayde the kynge to his ministers: take and bynde him hand and fote/ and caste him into vtter darcknes/ there shalbe wepinge and gnasshinge of teth. Then sayd the king to the ministers: take & bynde him hand and fote, & cast hym into vtter darcknes there shall be wepynge & gnasshynge of teth. 22:14 For many are called and feawe be chosen. For many be called but feaw are chosen. For many are called and feawe be chosen. For many are called, & fewe be chosen.
22:15 Then wēt the Pharises & toke counsell how they myght tangle him in his wordes. Then went the pharises, & toke counsell how they myght tangle him in his wordes. 22:16 And they sent vnto him their disciples with Herodes seruauntes sayinge: Master/ we knowe that thou are true/ & teachest the waye of God truly/ nether carest for eny mā/ for thou consydrest not mēnes estate. And they sent out vnto hym theyr discyples wyth Herodes seruauntes, sayinge: Master, we knowe that thou art true, & teachest the waye of God truely, nether carest thou for eny man, for thou regardest not the outward appearaunce of men. And they sent vnto him their disciples with Herodes seruauntes sayinge: Master/ we knowe that thou are true/ & teachest the waye of God truly/ nether carest for eny mā/ for thou consydrest not mēnes estate. And they sent vnto hym their disciples with Herodes seruantes, saying, Master we knowe that thou art true, and teachest the way of God truly, nether carest for any man, for thou considrest not mennes estat.
22:17 Tell vs therfore: how thynkest thou? Is it lawfull to geue tribute vnto Cesar or not? Tell vs therfore: how thynkest thou? Is it lawfull the trybute be geuen vnto Cesar or not? 22:18 Iesus perceaued their wykednes/ & sayde: Why tempte ye me ye ypocrites? But Iesus perceauyng theyr wyckednes, sayde: Why tempte ye me ye ypocrites? 22:20 And he sayde vnto them: whose is those ymage and superscripcion? They sayd vnto him: Cesars. And he sayde vnto them: whose is this ymage & superscripcion? 22:21 Then sayde he vnto thē: Geue therfore to Cesar/ that which is Cesars: & geue vnto God/ that which is Goddes. They saye vnto him, Cesars. Then sayd he vnto them. Geue therfore vnto Cesar, the thinges whych are Cesars: & vnto God, those thinges that are Gods Then sayde he vnto thē: Geue therfore to Cesar/ that which is Cesars: & geue vnto God/ that which is Goddes. 22:22 When they hearde that/ they marueled/ and left him/ & went there waye. When they had hearde these wordes, they marueled, & left hym, & went theyr waye. 22:24 sayinge: Master/ Moses bade/ yf a man dye hauinge no chyldrē/ that the brother mary his wyfe/ & reyse vp seed vnto his brother. sayinge: Master, Moses sayde: that yf a man dye hauynge no chylde, hys brother shulde mary hys wyfe, & reyse vp seed vnto his brother. sayinge: Master/ Moses bade/ yf a man dye hauinge no chyldrē/ that the brother mary his wyfe/ & reyse vp seed vnto his brother. Saying, Master, Moses bad, if a man dye, hauynge no chyldren, that his brother mary his wyfe, & rayse vp seede vnto his brother.
22:25 Ther were with vs seuen brethren/ & the fyrste maried & deceased without yssue & lefte his wyfe vnto his brother. Ther were with vs seuen brethren: & the fyrste maried a wyfe, & deceased wtout yssue & lefte his wyfe vnto his brother. 22:26 Lyke wyse the seconde & the thryd vnto the seuenth. Lykewyse, the seconde & the thyrd, vnto the seuenth. Lyke wyse the seconde & the thryd vnto the seuenth. Likewise also the second, and the thyrd, vnto the seuenth.
22:27 Laste of all the woman dyed also. Laste of all the woman dyed also. Laste of all the woman dyed also. Last of all the woman dyed also.
22:28 Now in the resurreccion whose wyfe shall she be of the seuen? For all had her. Therfore, in the resurreccion, whose wyfe shall she be of the seuen? For they all had her. 22:29 Iesus answered & sayde vnto thē: ye are deceaued & vnderstonde not the scriptures/ nor yet the power of God. For in the resurrection, men nether mary wiues, nor wiues are bestowed in mariadge: but are as the Angels of God in heauen.
22:31 As touchinge the resurrecciō of the deed: haue ye not redde what is sayde vnto you of God/ which sayeth: But as touchyng the resurreccyon of the deed: haue ye not red that which is spoken vnto you of God, whych sayth: As touchinge the resurrecciō of the deed: haue ye not redde what is sayde vnto you of God/ which sayeth: As touchyng the resurrection of the dead, haue ye not read what is sayd vnto you of God, which sayth,
22:32 I am Abrahams God/ & Isaacs God/ and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the deed: but of the lyuinge. I am the God of Abraham & the God of Isaac, & the God of Iacob? God is not a God of deed, but of lyuinge. I am Abrahams God/ & Isaacs God/ and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the deed: but of the lyuinge. I am Abrahams God, and Isaacs God, and the God of Iacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the lyuing.

22:35 and one of thē which was a doctour of lawe/ axed him a question temptinge him & sayinge: & one of them which was (a doctour of lawe) asked him a question, temptinge him, & saying: and one of thē which was a doctour of lawe/ axed him a question temptinge him & sayinge: Andoneofthem which was an exponder of the lawe, asked him a question, temting him, and saying,
22:36 Master which is the chefe commaundemēt in the lawe? Master, which is the greate commaundement in the lawe? Master which is the chefe commaundemēt in the lawe? Master, which is the chiefe commandement in the law?
22:37 Iesus sayd to him: Loue the Lorde thy God with all thyne herte/ with all thy soule/ & with all thy minde. Iesus sayd vnto hym: Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God wyth all thy herte, and wyth all thy soule, & wyth all thy mynde. Iesus sayd to him: Loue the Lorde thy God with all thyne herte/ with all thy soule/ & with all thy minde. 22:38 This is the fyrst and the chefe commaundement. This is the fyrst & greate commaundement. This is the fyrst and the chefe commaundement. This is the fyrst and the chiefe commandement.
22:39 And ther is another lyke vnto this. Loue thyne neighbour as thy selfe. And the seconde is lyke vnto it. Thou shalt loue thyne neyboure as thy self. And ther is another lyke vnto this. Loue thyne neighbour as thy selfe. And the second is like vnto this. Loue thine neyghbour as thy selfe.

They sayd vnto him, the sonne of Dauid.
22:43 He sayde vnto thē: how then doeth Dauid in sprite/ call him Lorde sayinge: He sayde vnto them how then doeth Dauid in sprete, call him Lorde sayinge: He sayde vnto thē: how then doeth Dauid in sprite/ call him Lorde sayinge: He sayd vnto them, How then doth Dauid in spirit cal him Lord, saying,
22:44 The Lorde sayde to my Lorde/ syt on my ryght honde: tyll I make thyne enemyes thy fote stole. The Lord sayd vnto my Lorde syt the on my ryght hande tyll I make thyne enemyes thy foote stoole. The Lorde sayde to my Lorde/ syt on my ryght honde: tyll I make thyne enemyes thy fote stole. The Lord sayd to my Lord, syt on my right hand tyl, I make thyne enemyes thy fote stole?
22:45 If Dauid call him Lorde: how is he then his sonne? If Dauid then, call him Lord, how is he then his sonne? If Dauid call him Lorde: how is he then his sonne? If Dauid call hym Lord, how is he then his sonne?
22:46 And none coulde answere him agayne one worde: nether durste eny from that daye forth/ axe him eny moo questions. And no man was able to answere him anye thing: nether durste eny man (from that daye forth) aske him any moo questions. And none coulde answere him agayne one worde: nether durste eny from that daye forth/ axe him eny moo questions. And none could answere him agayne one worde, nether durst any from that day forth, aske him any mo questions.
