Matthew: Chapter 21

21:2 sayinge to them: Goo into the toune that lyeth ouer agaynste you/ & anōne ye shall fynde an asse bounde/ & her colte with her: lose them and bringe them vnto me. saying vnto them: Go into the towne that lyeth ouer agaynst yon, and anone ye shall fynde an asse bound, and a colte with her: loose them, & bringe them vnto me. sayinge to them: Goo into the toune that lyeth ouer agaynste you/ & anōne ye shall fynde an asse bounde/ & her colte with her: lose them and bringe them vnto me. 21:3 And yf eny man saye ought vnto you/ saye ye that the Lorde hath neade of them: and streyght waye he will let them go. And yf eny man saye ought vnto you, say ye: the Lorde hath neade of them: & streyght waye he wyll let them go. And yf eny man saye ought vnto you/ saye ye that the Lorde hath neade of them: and streyght waye he will let them go. And if any man say oght vnto you, say ye, that the Lord hath nede of them: and streight way he wyl let them go.
21:4 All this was done/ to fulfyll that which was spoken by the Prophete/ sayinge: All this was done, that it might be fulfylled which was spoken by the prophete, saying. 21:5 Tell ye the doughter of Syon: beholde thy kynge cometh vnto the/ meke and syttinge vpon an asse and a colte/ the fole of an asse vsed to the yooke. Tell ye the daughter of Sion: beholde, thy kynge commeth vnto the, meke, syttinge vpon an asse & a colte, the fole of the asse vsed to the yocke. 21:9 Moreouer the people that went before/ and they also that came after/ cryed sayinge: Hosanna to the sonne of Dauid. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lorde/ Hosanna in the hyest. Moreouer, the people that went before, & they that came after, cried saying: Hosanna to the sonne of Dauid Blessed is he that commeth in the name of the Lord Hosanna in the hyest. Moreouer the people that went before/ and they also that came after/ cryed sayinge: Hosanna to the sonne of Dauid. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lorde/ Hosanna in the hyest. Moreouer, the people that went before, and they also that came after cryed, saying, Hosanna the sonne of Dauid. Blessed be he that commeth in the name of the Lord, Hosanna thou which art in &e hiest heauens.
21:10 And when he was come in to Ierusalem/ all the cite was moued sayinge: who is this? And when he was come to Ierusalem, all the citie was moued, saying: who is this? 21:11 And the people sayde: this is Iesus the Prophet of Nazareth a cite of Galile. And the people sayd: this is Iesus the Prophet of Nazareth (a cyte) of Galile And the people sayde: this is Iesus the Prophet of Nazareth a cite of Galile. And the people sayd, ttik is Iusvs the Prophet of Nazaret a citie of Galile.

21:13 & sayde to them: It is written/ my housse shalbe called the housse of prayer. But ye haue made it a denne of theues. & sayd vnto them: It is wrytten my house shalbe called the house of prayer. 21:16 and sayde vnto him: hearest thou what these saye? Iesus sayde vnto them yee: haue ye neuer redde/ of the mouth of babes and suckelinges thou haste ordeyned prayse? and sayd vnto him: hearest thou what these saye? But Iesus saieth vnto them why not? haue ye neuer redde. Out of the mouth of babes & suckelynges thou haste ordeyned prayse? and sayde vnto him: hearest thou what these saye? Iesus sayde vnto them yee: haue ye neuer redde/ of the mouth of babes and suckelinges thou haste ordeyned prayse? And said vnto him, Hearest thou what these say? Iesus sayd vnto them, yea, read ye neuer, By the mouth of babes and sucklinges, thou hast made parfit the praise?
21:17 And he lefte them/ and went out of the cite vnto Bethanie/ and had his abydinge there. And he lefte them, and went out of the cytie vnto Bethanie, & had his abydinge there. 21:19 and spyed a fygge tree in the waye/ and came to it/ and founde nothinge ther on/ but leues only/ and sayd to it/ neuer frute growe on the hence forwardes. And anon the fygge tree wyddered awaye. & whan he had spyed a fygge tree in the waye, he came to it, & founde nothynge theron, but leaues onely, & sayde vnto it: Neuer frute growe on the hence forwardes. And anone the fygg tree widdered awaye. and spyed a fygge tree in the waye/ and came to it/ and founde nothinge ther on/ but leues only/ and sayd to it/ neuer frute growe on the hence forwardes. And anone the fygge tree wythered away.
21:20 And when his disciples sawe that/ they marueled sayinge: Howe sone is the fygge tree wyddered awaye? And when hys discyples sawe it, they marueled, saying. How soone is the fygge tree wydderd awaye? And when his disciples sawe that/ they marueled sayinge: Howe sone is the fygge tree wyddered awaye? And when his disciples sawe that, they marueiled, saying, How sone is the fygge tree wythered away?
21:21 Iesus answered/ and sayde vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you/ yf ye shall haue faith and shall not dout ye shall not only do that which I haue done to the fygge tree: but also yf ye shall saye vnto this moūtayne/ take thy selfe awaye/ and cast thy selfe into the see/ it shalbe done. Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you yf ye haue fayth & dout not, ye shal not onely do this that is happened vnto the fygge tree: but also yf ye shall saye vnto this mountayne, remoue, & cast thy selfe into the see, it shalbe done. Iesus answered/ and sayde vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you/ yf ye shall haue faith and shall not dout ye shall not only do that which I haue done to the fygge tree: but also yf ye shall saye vnto this moūtayne/ take thy selfe awaye/ and cast thy selfe into the see/ it shalbe done. Iesus answered and sayd vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, if ye shal haue fayth, and shal not doubt, ye shal not onely do that which I haue done to the fygge tree: but also If ye shal say vnto this mountaine, Take thy selfe away, and cast thy selfe into the sea, it shalbe done.
21:22 And what soeuer ye shall axe in prayer (yf ye beeue ) ye shall receaue it. And all thinges whatsoeuer ye aske in prayer (yf ye beleue) ye shall receaue them. And what soeuer ye shall axe in prayer (yf ye beeue ) ye shall receaue it. And what soeuer ye shal aske in prayer, if ye beleue, ye shal receaue it.
21:23 And when he was come into the temple/ the chefe Prestes and the elders of the people came vnto him as he was teachinge/ and sayde: by what auctorite doest thou these thinges? and who gaue the this power? And when he was come in to the temple, the chefe Prestes & the elders of the people came vnto him (as he was teachinge) & sayde By what auctorite doest thou these thinges? & who gaue the thys power? And when he was come into the temple/ the chefe Prestes and the elders of the people came vnto him as he was teachinge/ and sayde: by what auctorite doest thou these thinges? and who gaue the this power? And when he was come into the temple, the chiefe Priestes and the Elders of the people, came vnto him as he was teachyng, and sayd, By what auctoritie doest thou these thynges? and who gaue thee this power i
21:24 Iesus answered/ and sayde vnto them: I also will axe of you a certayne question/ which yf ye assoyle me/ I in lyke wyse will tell you by what auctorite I do these thinges. Iesus answered & sayde vnto them: I also wyll aske of you a certayne thing, which yf ye tell me, I in lyke wyse will tell you by what auctorite I do these thinges. 21:25 The baptime of Iohn: whēce was it? from heuen or of men? Then they reasoned amonge them selues sayinge: yf we shall saye from heuen/ he will saye vnto vs: why dyd ye not then beleue him? The baptime of Iohn: whence was it? from heauen or of men? And they thought amonge them selues, saying: yf we saye from heauen, he wyll saye vnto vs: why dyd ye not then beleue him? 21:26 But and yf we shall saye of men/ then feare we the people. For all men helde Iohn as a Prophet. But yf we shall saye of men, then feare we the people. For all men holde Iohn as a prophet. 21:27 And they answered Iesus and sayde: we cannot tell. And he lyke wyse sayd vnto them: nether tell I you by what auctorite I do these thinges And they answered vnto Iesus & sayde: we cannot tell. And he sayd vnto them: nether tell I you, by what auctorite I do these thynges. And they answered Iesus and sayde: we cannot tell. And he lyke wyse sayd vnto them: nether tell I you by what auctorite I do these thinges And they answered Iesus, and said, We can not tel. And he sayd vnto them, Nether tel I you, by what auctoritie I do these thynges.
21:28 What saye ye to this? A certayne man had two sonnes/ and came to the elder and sayde: sonne go and worke to daye in my vyneyarde. What saye ye to this? A man had two sonnes, & cam to the fyrst, & sayde: sonne, go & worke to daye in my vineyarde. What saye ye to this? 21:29 He answered and sayde/ I will not: but afterwarde repented and went. He answered & sayde, I wyll not, but afterward, he repented, & went. He answered and sayde/ I will not: but afterwarde repented and went. He answered and sayd, I wil not: but afterward aduised him selfe, and went.
21:30 Then came he to the second/ and sayde lyke wyse. And he answered and sayde: I will syr: yet went not. Then cam he to the seconde, & sayd lykewise. And he answered, & sayd: I will syr, & went not. Then came he to the second/ and sayde lyke wyse. And he answered and sayde: I will syr: yet went not. Then came he to the seconde, and sayd lykewise. And he answered, and sayd, I wyl syr, yet went not.
21:31 Whether of them twayne dyd the will of the father? And they sayde vnto him: the fyrst. Iesus sayde vnto them: verely I saye vnto you/ that the publicans & the harlotes shall come in to the kyngdome of god before you. Whether of them twayne dyd the wyll of the father? And they saye vnto him: the fyrst. Iesus sayeth vnto them: verely I saye vnto you, the publicans & harlotes go into the kyngdom of God before you. Whether of them twayne dyd the will of the father? And they sayde vnto him: the fyrst. Iesus sayde vnto them: verely I saye vnto you/ that the publicans & the harlotes shall come in to the kyngdome of god before you. Whether of them twayne dyd the «rl of the father? They sayd vnto him, The fyrst. Iesus sayd vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, that the publicans and the harlotes shal come into the kyngdome of God before you.
21:32 For Iohn came vnto you in the waye of rightewesnes/ and ye beleued him not. But the publicans and the harlotes beleued him. And yet ye (though ye sawe it) were not yet moued with repentaunce/ that ye myght afterwarde haue beleued him. For Iohn cam vnto you by the waye of ryghtewesnes, and ye beleued hym not: but publicans & harlottes beleued hym. And ye (whan ye had sene it) were not moued afterwarde wyth repentaunce, that ye myght haue beleued hym. For Iohn came vnto you in the waye of rightewesnes/ and ye beleued him not. But the publicans and the harlotes beleued him. And yet ye (though ye sawe it) were not yet moued with repentaunce/ that ye myght afterwarde haue beleued him. For Iohn came uto you in the way of righteousnes, & ye beteued him not. But the publicans, and the harlots beleued him. And yet ye, thogh ye sawe it, were not moued with repentance, that ye myght afterward haue beleued him.
21:33 Herken another similitude. Ther was a certayne housholder/ which planted a vyneyarde/ and hedged it rounde about and made a wynpresse in it/ and bylt a tower/ and let it out to husbandmen/ and went into a straunge countre. Herken another symilitude Ther was a certaine man an housholder, whych planted a vineyarde, & hedged it rounde about, & made a wynepresse in it, & bilt a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, & went into a straung countre. 21:34 And when the tyme of the frute drewe neare/ he sent his seruauntes to the husbandmen/ to receaue the frutes of it. And when the tyme of the frute drewe neare, he sent his seruauntes to the husbandmen that they myght receaue the frutes of it. 21:35 And the husbandmen caught his seruauntes & bet one/ kylled another/ and stoned another. And the husbandmen caught his seruauntes, & bet one, killed another, & stoned another. 21:36 Agayne he sent other seruantes/ moo then the fyrst: & they serued them lyke wyse. Againe, he sent other seruauntes, moo then the fyrst: and they dyd vnto them lykewyse. 21:37 But last of all/ he sent vnto them his awne sonne sayinge: they will feare my sonne. But last of all, he sent vnto them his awne sonne, saying: they wyll stande in awe of my sonne. But last of all/ he sent vnto them his awne sonne sayinge: they will feare my sonne. But last of all, he sent vnto them his owne sonne, saying, They wyl feare my sonne.
21:38 But when the husbandmen sawe the sonne/ they sayde amonge them selues: This is the heyre: come/ let vs kyll him/ and let vs take his inheritaunce to oure selues. But when the husbandmen sawe the sonne, they sayd amonge them selues: This is the heyre: come, let vs kyll him, & let vs enioye his inheritaunce But when the husbandmen sawe the sonne/ they sayde amonge them selues: This is the heyre: come/ let vs kyll him/ and let vs take his inheritaunce to oure selues. But when the housbandmen aw the sonne, they sayd among them selues, This is the heyre: come, let vs kyl hym, and let vs take his inheritance.
21:39 And they caught him and thrust him out of the vyneyarde/ and slewe him. And they caught hym, & thrust hym out of the vineyarde, & slewe him. And they caught him and thrust him out of the vyneyarde/ and slewe him. And they caught him, and thrust him out of the vineyard, andslewehim.
21:40 When the lorde of the vyneyarde cometh/ what will he do with those husbandmen? When the Lord therfore of the vineyard commeth, what wil he do vnto those husbandmen? When the lorde of the vyneyarde cometh/ what will he do with those husbandmen? When therfore the Lord of the vineyard shal comme, what wil he do with those housbandmen?
21:41 They sayde vnto him: he will cruellye destroye those euyll persons/ and will let out his vyneyarde vnto other husbandmen/ which shall delyuer him the frute at tymes conuenient. They sayd vnto him: For asmoch as they be euell, he will cruellye destroye them, & will let out his vineyard vnto other husbandmen, which shall delyuer hym the frute in due seasons. They sayde vnto him: he will cruellye destroye those euyll persons/ and will let out his vyneyarde vnto other husbandmen/ which shall delyuer him the frute at tymes conuenient. They sayd vnto him, He wil cruely destroy those euil persons, and wyl let out his vineyard vnto other housbandmen, which shal deliuer him the fruit at tymes conuenient.
21:42 Iesus sayde vnto them: dyd ye neuer redde in the scriptures? The stone which the bylders refused/ the same is set in the principall parte of the corner: this was the lordes doinge/ & it is meruelous in oure eyes. Iesus sayeth vnto them: dyd ye neuer reade in the scriptures The stone whych the bylders refused, the same is become the heade of the corner: thys is the Lordes doinge, & it is meruelous in youre eyes. Iesus sayde vnto them: dyd ye neuer redde in the scriptures? The stone which the bylders refused/ the same is set in the principall parte of the corner: this was the lordes doinge/ & it is meruelous in oure eyes. Iesus sayd vnto them, Red ye neuer in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders refused, the same, is made the head stone of the corner? This was the Lordes doing, and it is merueylous in our eyes.
21:43 Therfore saye I vnto you/ the kyngdome of God shalbe taken from you/ and shalbe geuen to the Gentyls/ which shall bringe forth the frutes of it. Therfore saye I vnto you, the kyngdom of God shalbe taken from you, and geuen to a nacion, whych shall brynge forth the frutes therof. Therfore saye I vnto you/ the kyngdome of God shalbe taken from you/ and shalbe geuen to the Gentyls/ which shall bringe forth the frutes of it. Therfore say I vnto you, the kyngdome of God shalbe taken from you, & shalbe geuen to a people, which shal bryng forth the fruites of it.
21:44 And whosoeuer shall fall on this stone/ he shalbe broken/ but on whosoeuer it shall fall vpon/ it will grynde him to powder. And whosoeuer falleth on this stone, shalbe broken in peces: but on whomsoeuer it falleth it shall all to grynd hym. And whosoeuer shall fall on this stone/ he shalbe broken/ but on whosoeuer it shall fall vpon/ it will grynde him to powder. And whosoeuer shal fal on this stone he shalbe broken: but on whom soeuer it shal fal vpon, it wyl grynde him to powder.
21:45 And when the chefe Prestes and Pharises hearde these similitudes/ they perceaued that he spake of them. And when the chefe Prestes and Pharises had hearde hys parables, they perceaued, that he speake of them. And when the chefe Prestes and Pharises hearde these similitudes/ they perceaued that he spake of them. And when the chiefe Priestes and Pharises heard these similitudes, they perceaned that he spake of them.
21:46 And they went about to laye hondes on him/ but they feared the people/ because they tooke him as a Prophet. And they seekyng to lay handes on him, feared the people, because they toke him as a Prophet.
