Matthew: Chapter 20

20:1 FOr the kyngdome of heuen is lyke vnto an housholder/ which went out erly in the morninge to hyer labourers into his vyneyarde. For the kyngdom of heauen is lyke vnto a man that is an housholder, whych went out early in the mornyng to hyer labourers into hys vyneyard. 20:2 And he agreed with the labourers for a peny a daye/ and sent them into his vyneyarde. And whan the agrement was made wyth the labourers for a peny a daye, he sent them into hys vineyarde. 20:4 & sayd vnto them/ go ye also into my vyneyarde: & what soeuer is right/ I will geue you. And they went there waye. & sayde vnto them: go ye also into the vineyarde: & whatsoeuer is ryght, I wyll geue you. 20:6 And he went out aboute the eleuenth houre and founde other stondynge ydell/ and sayde vnto them: Why stonde ye here all the daye ydell? 20:7 They sayde vnto him: because no man hath hyred vs. He sayde to thē: go ye also into my vyneyarde/ and what so euer is right/ that shall ye receaue. 20:8 When euen was come/ the lorde of the vyneyarde sayde vnto his steward: call the labourers/ and geue them their hyer/ beginnyng at the laste/ tyll thou come to the fyrste. So, when euen was come, the Lord of the vineyarde sayeth vnto his steward: call the labourers, & geue them their hyer, begynnyng at the laste vntill the fyrst. When euen was come/ the lorde of the vyneyarde sayde vnto his steward: call the labourers/ and geue them their hyer/ beginnyng at the laste/ tyll thou come to the fyrste. And when euen was come, the Lord of the vineyard sayd vnto his steward, Call the labourers, and geue them theyr hyer, begynnyng at the last, tyl thou come to the fyrst.
20:9 And they whiche were hyred aboute the eleuenth houre/ came and receaued euery man a peny. And whan they dyd come, that cam about the eleuenth houre, they receaued euery man a peny. 20:10 Then came the fyrst/ supposyng that they shuld receaue moare/ and they lyke wyse receaued euery man a peny. But whan the fyrst came also, they supposed that they shuld haue receaued more, & they lykewyse receaued euery man a peny. 20:13 He answered to one of them sayinge: frende I do the no wronge: dyddest thou not agre with me for a penny? 20:14 Take that which is thy duty/ and go thy waye. I will geue vnto this last/ as moche as to the. Take that thine is & go thy waye: I wyll geue vnto thys last, euen as vnto the. 20:15 Is it not lawfull for me to do as me listeth with myne awne? Is thyne eye euyll because I am good? Is it not lawfull for me to do as me lysteth wt myne awne goodes? 20:16 So the laste shalbe fyrste/ and the fyrste shalbe laste. For many are called and feawe be chosen. So the last shalbe fyrst, & the fyrste shalbe last. For many be called, but fewe be chosen. 20:17 And Iesus ascended to Ierusalem and toke the .xij. disciples a parte in the waye/ and sayde to them. 20:19 and shall delyuer him to the gentyls/ to be mocked/ to be scourged/ and to be crucified: and the thyrd daye he shall ryse agayne. & shall delyuer hym to the gentyls, to be mocked and to be scourged, and to be crucifyed: and the thyrde daye he shall ryse agayne. and shall delyuer him to the gentyls/ to be mocked/ to be scourged/ and to be crucified: and the thyrd daye he shall ryse agayne. 20:20 Then came to him the mother of zebedes chyldren with her sonnes/ worshippynge him/ and desyringe a certayne thinge of him. 20:21 And he sayd vnto her: what wilt thou haue? She sayde vnto him: Graunte that these my two sonnes may syt/ the one on thy right hond and the other on the lyfte hond in thy kyngdome. And he sayeth vnto her, what wilt thou? She sayde vnto him: Graunte, that these my two sonnes may syt, the one on thy ryght hande, and the other on the lefte, in thy kyngdome. And he sayd vnto her: what wilt thou haue? She sayde vnto him: Graunte that these my two sonnes may syt/ the one on thy right hond and the other on the lyfte hond in thy kyngdome. And he sayd vnto her, what wylt thou haue? She sayd to him, Grant that these my two sonnes may syt, the one at thy ryght hand, & the other at thy lyft hand in thy kyngdome.
20:22 Iesus answered and sayd: Ye wot not what ye axe. Are ye able to drinke of the cuppe that I shall drinke of/ and to be baptised with the baptyme that I shalbe baptised with? They answered to him/ that we are. But Iesus answered & sayde: Ye wot not what ye aske. Are ye able to dryncke of that cuppe that I shall drynke of: & to be baptised wt the baptyme, that I am baptised wt? Iesus answered and sayd: Ye wot not what ye axe. Are ye able to drinke of the cuppe that I shall drinke of/ and to be baptised with the baptyme that I shalbe baptised with? They answered to him/ that we are. And Iesus answered and sayd, Ye wot not what ye aske. Are ye able to drincke of the cup that I shal drincke of: & to be baptized with the baptisme that I shalbe batized with? They sayd to hym, we are able.
20:23 And he sayd vnto them: Ye shall drinke of my cup/ and shalbe baptised with the baptyme that I shalbe baptised with. But to syt on my right hond and on my lyft hond/ is not myne to geue: but to them for whom it is prepared of my father. They saye vnto him: we are. He sayde vnto them: ye shall dryncke in dede of my cup: & be baptised wt the baptyme that I am baptised with. But to syt on my ryght hande & on my left, is not myne to geue: but it shall chaunce vnto them, that it is prepared for of my father. And he sayd vnto them: Ye shall drinke of my cup/ and shalbe baptised with the baptyme that I shalbe baptised with. But to syt on my right hond and on my lyft hond/ is not myne to geue: but to them for whom it is prepared of my father. And he sayd vnto them, Ye shal drynke in deed of my cup, and shalbe baptized with the baptisme, that I am baptized with. But to syt at my ryght hand, and at my lyft hand, is not myne to geue: but it shall be geuen to them for whome it is prepared of my father.

20:25 But Iesus called them vnto him and sayde: Ye knowe that the lordes of the gentyls haue dominacion ouer them. And they that are great/ exercise power ouer them. But Iesus called them vnto him, & sayde: ye knowe that the princes of the nacions haue dominion ouer them. And they that are great men, exercyse auctorite vpon them. But Iesus called them vnto him and sayde: Ye knowe that the lordes of the gentyls haue dominacion ouer them. And they that are great/ exercise power ouer them. But Iesus called them vnto him, and sayd, Ye know that the lordes of the Gentiles haue domination ouer them.
20:26 It shall not be so amonge you. But whosoeuer will be greate amonge you/ let him be youre minister: It shall not be so amonge you. But whosoeuer wyll be greate amonge you, let him be youre minister: It shall not be so amonge you. But whosoeuer will be greate amonge you/ let him be youre minister: And they that are great, exercise power ouer them. It shal not be so among you. But whosoeuer wyl be great among you, let him be your minister.
20:27 and whosoeuer wilbe chefe/ let him be youre seruaunt/ and whoso will be chefe amonge you, let him be youre seruaunt: and whosoeuer wilbe chefe/ let him be youre seruaunt/ And whosoeuer wyl be chief among you, let him be your seruant.
20:28 euen as the sonne of man came/ not to be ministred vnto/ but to minister/ and to geue his lyfe for the redempcion of many. euen as the sonne of man cam, not to be ministred vnto, but to minister, & to geue his lyfe a redempcion for many. euen as the sonne of man came/ not to be ministred vnto/ but to minister/ and to geue his lyfe for the redempcion of many. 20:30 And beholde two blynde men syttinge by the way syde/ when they hearde Iesus passe by/ cryed sayinge: Thou Lorde the sonne of Dauid haue mercy on vs. And beholde, two blynd men sittinge by the waysyde, when they hearde that Iesus passed by, they cried sayinge: O lord thou sonne of Dauid, haue mercy on vs. And beholde two blynde men syttinge by the way syde/ when they hearde Iesus passe by/ cryed sayinge: Thou Lorde the sonne of Dauid haue mercy on vs. And behold two blynde men syttyng by the way syde: When they heard Iesus passe by, cryed Baying, Thou Lord the sonne of Dauid, haue menrie on vs.
20:31 And the people rebuked them/ because they shulde holde their peace. But they cryed the moare sayinge: haue mercy on vs thou Lorde which arte the sonne of Dauid. 20:32 Then Iesus stode styll/ & called them/ and sayde: what will ye that I shulde do to you: And Iesus stode still, and called them, & sayde: what wyll ye that I shall do vnto you: Then Iesus stode styll/ & called them/ and sayde: what will ye that I shulde do to you: Then Iesus stode styl, and called them, and sayd, What wyl ye that I should do to you?
20:33 They sayd to him: Lorde that oure eyes maye be opened. They saye vnto him: Lorde, that oure eyes maye be opened: They sayd to him: Lorde that oure eyes maye be opened. They sayd to hym, Lord that our eyes may be opened.
20:34 Iesus had compassion on them/ and touched their eyes. And immediatly their eyes receaued syght. And they folowed him.
