Matthew: Chapter 12

12:1 AT that tyme Iesus went on the saboth dayes thorow the corne & his disciples were an hongred/ & begane to plucke the eares of corne/ & to eate. At that tyme Iesus went on the Sabboth dayes thorowe the corne, and hys discyples were an hongred, and beganne to plucke the eares of corne, and to eate. 12:2 When the Pharises sawe that/ they sayde vnto him: Beholde/ thy disciples do that which is not lawfull to do apon the Saboth daye. 12:3 He sayde vnto them: Haue ye not reed what Dauid dyd/ when he was an houngered/ and they also which were with him? But he sayde vnto them. Haue ye not read what Dauid dyd, when he was an hongred, & they that were with him? He sayde vnto them: Haue ye not reed what Dauid dyd/ when he was an houngered/ and they also which were with him? And he sayed vnto them, Haae ye not read what Dauid did when I* was an hongred, and they also which *ere with him?
12:4 How he entred into the housse of God/ & ate the halowed loues which were not lawfull/ for him to eate nether for them which were with him/ but only for the prestes. Or haue ye not read in the lawe, how that (on the Sabath dayes) the preastes in the temple breake the Saboth, and are blamelesse? Or have ye not reed in the lawe/ how that the prestes in the temple breake the Saboth daye/ and yet are blamlesse? 12:7 Wherfore yf ye had wist what this sayinge meneth: I require mercy/ and not sacrifice: ye wold neuer haue condemned innocentes. Wherfore, yf ye wyst what this meaneth I require mercy, & not sacrifice: ye wolde not haue condemned innocentes. Wherfore yf ye had wist what this sayinge meneth: I require mercy/ and not sacrifice: ye wold neuer haue condemned innocentes. 12:8 For the sonne of man is lord euen of the Saboth daye. For the sonne of man also, is Lord euen of the Sabath daye. For the sonne of man is lord euen of the Saboth daye. For the sonne of fto is Lord euen of the Sabbath day.
12:9 And he departed thence/ and went into their synagoge: And he departed thence and went into their synagoge: And he departed thence/ and went into their synagoge: And he departed thence, and went in to their Synagoge:
12:10 and beholde ther was a man/ whiche had his hande dryed vp. And they axed him sayinge: is it lawfull to heale apon the Saboth dayes? because they myght acuse him. and beholde, ther was a man which had his hande dried vp. And they asked hym, sayinge is it lawfull to heale vpon the Saboth dayes? that they myght accuse him. and beholde ther was a man/ whiche had his hande dryed vp. And they axed him sayinge: is it lawfull to heale apon the Saboth dayes? because they myght acuse him. And behold there was a man which had his hand dryed vp. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heale rpon the Sabbath dayes? that they myght accuse him.
12:11 And he sayde vnto them: whiche of you wolde it be/ yf he had a shepe fallen into a pitte on the Saboth daye/ that wolde not take him & lyft him out? And he sayde vnto them: which of you will it be, that shall haue. a shepe, and yf it fall into a pytte on the Saboth daye, wyl he not take it and lyft it out? And he sayde vnto them: whiche of you wolde it be/ yf he had a shepe fallen into a pitte on the Saboth daye/ that wolde not take him & lyft him out? And he sayed Tnto them, What man shalbe among you, that shal haue a shepe, and if it fall on the Sabbath day into a pyt, wil not he take it and lift it out?
12:12 And how moche is a man better then a shepe? Wherfore it is lefull to do a good dede on the saboth dayes. Howe moch more then is a man better then a shepe? Wherfore, it is lefull to do a good dede on the Saboth dayes. And how moche is a man better then a shepe? Wherfore it is lefull to do a good dede on the saboth dayes. 12:13 Then sayde he to the mā: stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth. And it was made whole agayne lyke vnto the other. Then sayeth he to the man: stretch forth thy hande. And he stretched it forth: And it was restored vnto health, lyke as the other. Then sayde he to the mā: stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth. 12:14 Then the Pharises went out/ and helde a counsell agaynst him/ how they myght destroye him. Then the Pharises went out, and helde a counsell agaynst him, how they myght destroye him. 12:17 to fulfyll that which was spoken by Esay the Prophet/ which sayeth. that it myght be fulfilled which was spoken by Esay the Prophet, which sayeth: to fulfyll that which was spoken by Esay the Prophet/ which sayeth. That it myght be fulfylled, which was spoken by &»i the Prophet, which sayeth.
12:18 Beholde my chylde/ whom I haue chosen/ my beloued/ in whom my soule deliteth. I will put my sprete on him/ & he shall shewe iudgement to the gentyls. Beholde, my childe, whom I haue chosen, my beloued, in whom my soule deliteth. I wyll put my sprete vpon him, and he shall shewe iudgement to the gentyls. Beholde my chylde/ whom I haue chosen/ my beloued/ in whom my soule deliteth. I will put my sprete on him/ & he shall shewe iudgement to the gentyls. Beholde my seruant whome I haue chosen,beloued in whom my soule delyteth: I *jl put my Spirit on hym, and he shal *«e iudgement to the Gentils.
12:19 He shall not stryue/ he shall not crye/ nether shall eny man heare his voyce in the streetes/ He shal not stryue ner crye, nether shall eny man heare hys voyce in the stretes, He shall not stryue/ he shall not crye/ nether shall eny man heare his voyce in the streetes/ He ^ not stryue, nor cry, nether shal any n>ffl heare his voyce in the streates.
12:20 a brosed rede shall he not breake/ and flaxe that begynneth to burne/ he shall not quenche/ tyll he sende forth iudgemēt vnto victorye/ a brosed rede shall he not breake, and smokyng flax shall he not quenche, till he sende forth iudgement vnto victorie, a brosed rede shall he not breake/ and flaxe that begynneth to burne/ he shall not quenche/ tyll he sende forth iudgemēt vnto victorye/ A Prosed rede shal he not breake, & smok flaie he shal not quenche, til he bring forth indgement vnto victorie.
12:21 & in his name shall the gentyls truste. & in his name shall the gentyls trust. & in his name shall the gentyls truste. And in his name shal the Gentiles trust.
12:22 Then was brought to him/ one possessed with a deuyll which was both blynde & domme: and he healed him/ insomoch that he which was blynd and domme/ both spake and sawe. Then was brought to him a blynd & domme man, that was vexed with a deuyll, & he healed him, in somoch, that the blynd and domme, both spake and sawe. Then was brought to him/ one possessed with a deuyll which was both blynde & domme: and he healed him/ insomoch that he which was blynd and domme/ both spake and sawe. Then *as broght to hym, one possessed with a denvl, which was both blynde, and domme, a-d he healed hym, in so moche that he ^bich was blynde and domme, both spake sad sawe.
12:23 And all the people were amased/ & sayde: Is not this that sonne of Dauid? And all the people were amased, and sayde: Is not this that sonne of Dauid? And all the people were amased/ & sayde: Is not this that sonne of Dauid? And all the people were anased, and sayd. Is not this the sonne ^ Dauid?
12:24 But when the Pharises hearde that/ they sayde: This felow dryueth the deuyls no nother wyse oute but by the helpe of Belzebub the chefe of the deuyls. But when the Pharises hearde it, they sayd. This felow dryueth the deuyls no nother wyse out, but by the helpe of Belzebub the chefe of the deuyls. But when the Pharises hearde that/ they sayde: This felow dryueth the deuyls no nother wyse oute but by the helpe of Belzebub the chefe of the deuyls. But when the Pharises °«rd that, they sayd, This felow dryueth the deuils no otherwyse out, but through Beelzebub the prince of the deuyls.
12:25 But Iesus knewe their thoughtes & sayde to thē. Euery kyngdome deuided with in it selfe/ shalbe brought to naught. Nether shall eny cite or housholde deuyded agenst it selfe/ cōtynue. But whan Iesus knewe their thoughtes he sayde vnto them: Euery kingdome deuided agaynst it selfe, shalbe brought to naught. And euery citie or house deuyded agaynst it selfe shall not stande. But Iesus knewe their thoughtes & sayde to thē. Euery kyngdome deuided with in it selfe/ shalbe brought to naught. Nether shall eny cite or housholde deuyded agenst it selfe/ cōtynue. But when Iesus knewe theyr thoghtes, he sayd to them, Euery kyngdome deuided agaynst it selfe, shalbe broght to naught: And euery citie or house, deuided agaynst it self, shal not stand.
12:26 So yf satā cast out satan/ thē he is deuyded ageynst him selfe. How shall thē his kyngdome endure? And yf Satan cast out Satan, then is he deuided agaynst him selfe how shall then his kingdome endure? So yf satā cast out satan/ thē he is deuyded ageynst him selfe. How shall thē his kyngdome endure? If Satan cast out Satan, then he is deuided agaynst him self: How shal then his kingdome endure?
12:27 Also yf I by the helpe of Belzebub cast oute deuyls: by whose helpe do youre chyldren cast thē out? 12:28 But yf I cast out the devyls by the sprite of god: then is the kyngdome of god come on you? But yf I cast out the deuyls by the spryte of God: then is the kingdome of God come vnto you: But yf I cast out the devyls by the sprite of god: then is the kyngdome of god come on you? But if I cast out the deuyls by the Spirite of God, then is the kyngdome of God come to you.
12:29 Ether how can a mā enter into a stronge mānes housse/ & violently take awaye his goodes: excepte he fyrst binde the strōge man/ & thē spoyle his housse? Or els how can one enter into a strong mannes house, and spoyle his Iewels, excepte he fyrst bynde the stronge man, and then spoyle his house? 12:30 He that is not with me/ is agaynst me. And he that gaddereth not with me/ scattereth abrode. He that is not with me, is agaynst me. And he that gathereth not with me, scattereth abrode. He that is not with me/ is agaynst me. And he that gaddereth not with me/ scattereth abrode. He that is not with me, is against me: and he that gathereth not with me, scatthereth abrode.
12:31 Wherfore I saye vnto you/ all maner of synne & blasphemy shalbe forgeuē vnto men: but the blasphemy of the sprite/ shall not be forgeuē vnto men. Wherfore, I saye vnto you, all maner of synne and blasphemy shalbe forgeuen vnto men but the blasphemy agaynst the sprete, shall not be forgeuen vnto men. Wherfore I saye vnto you/ all maner of synne & blasphemy shalbe forgeuē vnto men: but the blasphemy of the sprite/ shall not be forgeuē vnto men. Wherfore I say vnto you, all maner of synne and blasphemie shalbe forgeuen vnto men: but the blasphemie against the holy Gost, shal not be forgeuen vnto men.
12:32 And whosoeuer speaketh a worde agaynst the sonne of man/ it shalbe forgeuē him. But whosoeuer speaketh agaynst the holy gost/ it shall not be forgeuē him/ no nether in this worlde/ nether in ye worlde to come. And whosoeuer speaketh a worde agaynst the sonne of man, it shalbe forgeuen hym. But whosoeuer speaketh agaynst the holy gost, it shall not be forgeuen him, nether in this worlde, nether in the worlde to come: And whosoeuer speaketh a worde agaynst the sonne of man/ it shalbe forgeuē him. But whosoeuer speaketh agaynst the holy gost/ it shall not be forgeuē him/ no nether in this worlde/ nether in ye worlde to come. And whosoeuer shal speake agaynst the Sonne of man, it shalbe forgeuen him. But whosoeuer 9hal speake agaynst the holy Gost, it shal not be forgeuen him, nether in this world, nether in the world to
12:33 Ether make the tree good/ & his frute good also: or els make the tree euyll/ & his frute euyll also. For the tree is knowen by his frute. 12:34 O generacion of vipers/ how can ye saye well/ when ye youre selues are euyll? For of the aboundāce of the hert/ the mouth speaketh. 12:35 A good man oute of the good treasure of his hert/ bringeth forth good thinges. And an euyll man out of his euyll treasure/ bringeth forth euyll thinges. 12:36 But I say vnto you/ that of euery ydell worde that men shall haue spoken: they shall geue a countes at the daye of iudgemēt. 12:38 Then answered certeyne of the Scribes & of the Pharises sayinge: Master/ we wolde fayne se asygne of the. Then certayne of the Scribes and of the Pharises asked him saying. 12:39 He answered & sayde to thē: The euyll & aduoutrous generacion seketh a signe/ but ther shall no signe be geuen to thē/ saue the signe of the Prophete Ionas. But he answered and sayde to them. 12:40 For as Ionas was thre dayes and thre nyghtes in the whales belly: so shall the sonne of man be thre dayes and thre nyghtes in the hert of the erth. For as Ionas was thre dayes and thre nightes in the whales belly, so shall the sonne of man be thre dayes and thre nightes in the herte of the erth. For as Ionas was thre dayes and thre nyghtes in the whales belly: so shall the sonne of man be thre dayes and thre nyghtes in the hert of the erth. For as Ionas was three daves, & three nyghtes in the whales belly: so shal the Sonne of man be three dayes and three nightes in the hart of the earth.
12:41 The men of Niniuie shall ryse at the daye of iudgemēt with this nacion/ & condemne them: for they amended at the preachinge of Ionas. And beholde/ a greater then Ionas is here. The men of niniue shall ryse in the iudgement with this nacion, & condemne it, because they amended at the preachyng of Ionas. Beholde, here is one greater then Ionas. The men of Niniuie shall ryse at the daye of iudgemēt with this nacion/ & condemne them: for they amended at the preachinge of Ionas. And beholde/ a greater then Ionas is here. The Niniuites shal ryse in iudgement with this nation, and condemne them: for they amended at the preaching of Ionas. And behold, a greater then Ionas is here.
12:42 The quene of the south shall ryse at the daye of iudgemēt wt this generacion/ & shall condemne thē: for she came from the vtmost parties of the worlde to heare the wysdome of Salomon. And beholde a greater then Salomon is here. The quene of the south shall rise in the iudgement with this generacion, and shall condemne it: for she came from the vtmost partes of the worlde to heare the wysdome of Salomon. And behold, in this place is one greater then Salomon. The quene of the south shall ryse at the daye of iudgemēt wt this generacion/ & shall condemne thē: for she came from the vtmost parties of the worlde to heare the wysdome of Salomon. And beholde a greater then Salomon is here. The Quene of the south shal ryse in iudgement with this generation, and shal condemne it: for she came, from the vtmost parties of the world to heare the wysedome of Solomon. And beholde a greater then Solomon is here.
12:43 When the vnclene sprite is gone out of a man/ he walketh throughout dry places/ seking reest and fyndeth none. 12:44 Then he sayeth: I will retourne ageyne into my housse/ from whence I came oute. And when he is come/ he fyndeth the housse empty and swepte and garnisshed. 12:45 Then he goeth his waye/ and taketh vnto him seuen other spretes worsse then him selfe/ & so entre they in and dwell there. And the ende of that man is worsse then the begynning. Euen so shall it be with this euell nacion. Then goeth he, and taketh vnto him seuen other spretes worse then him selfe, and so entreth he in, and dwelleth there. And the ende of that man is worse then the begynning. Euen so shall it be also, vnto this froward generacion. Then he goeth his waye/ and taketh vnto him seuen other spretes worsse then him selfe/ & so entre they in and dwell there. And the ende of that man is worsse then the begynning. Euen so shall it be with this euell nacion. Then he goeth hys way, & taketh rnto hym seuen other spirites worse then hym selfe, and so entre they in, and dwel there: and the ende of that man is worse then the begynnyng. Euen so shal it be with this euil nation.
12:46 Whill he yet talked to the people: beholde his mother and his brethren stode without/ desyringe to speake with him. 12:48 He answered and sayd to him that tolde him: Who is my mother? or who are my brethren? But he answered, & sayde vnto him that had tolde him. Who is my mother? or who are my brethren? He answered and sayd to him that tolde him: Who is my mother? or who are my brethren? But he answered, and said to hym that told him, Who is my mother? And who are my brethren?
12:49 And he stretched forth his hond ouer his disciples and sayd: behold my mother and my brethren. And he stretched forth hys hand towarde his disciples, & sayd. beholde my mother and my brethren. And he stretched forth his hond ouer his disciples and sayd: behold my mother and my brethren. And he stretched forth his hand  towarde his disciples, and sayd, Beholde my mother and my brethren.
12:50 For whosoeuer doth my fathers will which is in heuen/ the same is my brother/ suster and mother. For whosoeuer doth the will of my father which is in heauen, the same is my brother, syster, and mother. For whosoeuer doth my fathers will which is in heuen/ the same is my brother/ suster and mother. For whosoener shal do my fathers wyl which is in heauen, the same is my brother and syster, and mother.
