Matthew: Chapter 11

11:1 ANd it came to passe when Iesus had made an ende of commaundinge his .xij. disciples/ that he departed thence/ to teache and to preache in their cities. 11:3 and sayde vnto him. Arte thou he that shall come: or shall we loke for another. & sayde vnto hym: Art thou he that shall come: or do we loke for another. and sayde vnto him. 11:4 Iesus answered and sayde vnto them. Go and shewe Iohn what ye haue hearde and sene. Iesus answered and sayd vnto them: Go, and shewe Iohn agayne, what ye haue heard and sene. 11:5 The blynd se/ the halt goo/ the lepers are clensed: the deef heare/ the ded ryse ageyne/ and the glad tydinges is preached to the poore. The blynd receaue their sight: the lame walke, the lepers are clensed: and the deef heare, the deed are raysed vp, & the poore receaue the glad tidinges of the gospell. The blynd se/ the halt goo/ the lepers are clensed: the deef heare/ the ded ryse ageyne/ and the glad tydinges is preached to the poore. The blinde see, the halt go, the lepers are clensed, and the deafe heare, the dead ryse agayne, and the poore receaue the Gospell.
11:6 And happy is he that is not offended by me. And happy is he, that is not offended by me. And happy is he that is not offended by me. And blessed is he that shal not be offended in
11:7 And as they departed/ Iesus begane to speake vnto the people of Iohn. What for to se/ went ye out into the wyldernes? went ye out to se a rede shaken with the wynde? And as they departed, Iesus beganne to saye vnto the people concerning Iohn. What went ye out into the wyldernes to se? A rede that is shaken with the wynde? And as they departed/ Iesus begane to speake vnto the people of Iohn. What for to se/ went ye out into the wyldernes? went ye out to se a rede shaken with the wynde? And as they departed, lesus began to speake vnto the people of Iohn: What went ye out into the wildernes to see? A reede shaken with the wynde?
11:8 other what went ye out for to se? A man clothed in soofte rayment? Beholde they that weare soofte clothing/ are in kynges howses. Or what went ye out for to se? A man clothed in softe rayment? Beholde: they that weare softe clothing: are in kinges houses. other what went ye out for to se? A man clothed in soofte rayment? Beholde they that weare soofte clothing/ are in kynges howses. But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft rayment? Behold, they that weare softe clothing are in kinges houses.
11:9 But what went ye oute for to se? A prophete? Ye I saye to you and more then a Prophete. But what went ye out for to se? A prophete: Verely I saye vnto you: and more then a Prophete. 11:10 For this is he of whom it is written. Beholde/ I sende my messenger before thy face/ which shall prepare thy waye before the. For this is he, of whom it is wrytten. 11:11 Verely I saye vnto you/ amonge the chyldren of wemen arose there not a gretter then Iohn the Baptist. Notwithstondinge he that is lesse in the kyngdome of heuen/ is gretter then he. Verely I saye vnto you: amonge them that are borne of wemen, arose not a greater then Iohn the Baptist. Not withstandinge he that is lesse: in the Kyngdome of heauen is gretter then he. Verely I saye vnto you/ amonge the chyldren of wemen arose there not a gretter then Iohn the Baptist. Notwithstondinge he that is lesse in the kyngdome of heuen/ is gretter then he. Verily I say vnto you, among them which are begotten of women, arose ther not a greater then Iohn the Baptist: Notwithstanding, he that U lesse in the kingdome of heauen, is greater then he.
11:12 From the tyme of Iohn Baptist hytherto/ the kyngdome of heuen suffreth violence/ and they that goo to it with violence pluck it vnto them. From the dayes of Iohn Baptist vntill this daye, the kyngedom of heuen suffreth violence, and the violent plucke it vnto them. From the tyme of Iohn Baptist hytherto/ the kyngdome of heuen suffreth violence/ and they that goo to it with violence pluck it vnto them. 11:13 For all the Prophetes and the lawe prophesyed vnto the tyme of Iohn. For all the prophetes, and the lawe it selfe prophesied vnto Iohn. For all the Prophetes and the lawe prophesyed vnto the tyme of Iohn. For all the Prophetes and the law, prophecied vnto the time of Ihon.
11:14 Also yf ye wil receaue it/ this is Helyas which shuld come. And yf ye wyll receaue it this is Helias, which was for to come. Also yf ye wil receaue it/ this is Helyas which shuld come. And if ye wil receaue him, this is Elias which was to come.
11:15 He that hathe eares to heare let him heare. He that hath eares to heare: let hym heare. He that hathe eares to heare let him heare. He that hath eares to heare let him heare. But wher vnto shal I lyken this generation?
11:16 But wher vnto shall I lyken this generacion? It is lyke vnto chyldren which syt in the market and call vnto their felowes/ & saye: But wher vnto shall I lyken thys generacion? It is like vnto chyldren, which syt in the market places, and call vnto their felowes, But wher vnto shall I lyken this generacion? It is lyke vnto chyldren which syt in the market and call vnto their felowes/ & saye: It is lyke vnto children which syt in the markets, and call vnto their felowes saying,
11:17 we haue pyped vnto you/ & ye haue not daunsed? We haue mourned vnto you/ and ye haue not sorowed. and saye: we haue pyped vnto you, and ye haue not daunsed: We haue mourned vnto you & ye haue not sorowed. we haue pyped vnto you/ & ye haue not daunsed? We haue mourned vnto you/ and ye haue not sorowed. We haue pyped uto yon, and ye haue not daunced: We haoe songe mourning songes vnto you, nd ye haue not wept.
11:18 For Iohn came nether eatinge nor drinkinge/ and they saye/ he hath the deuyll For Iohn came nether eatynge nor drynkynge, & they saye, he hath the deuyll. For Iohn came nether eatinge nor drinkinge/ and they saye/ he hath the deuyll For Ihon came nether eatyng nor trucking, and they say, he hath the deuyi.
11:19 The sonne of man came eatinge and drinkinge/ and they saye/ beholde a glutton and drinker of wyne/ and a frend vnto publicans & synners. Neuerthelater wysdome is iustified of hir chyldren. The sonne of man came eatyng and drynckyng, and they saye, beholde a glutton, & an vnmeasurable dryncker of wyne: and a frende vnto publicans and synners. And wisdome is iustifyed of her chyldren. The sonne of man came eatinge and drinkinge/ and they saye/ beholde a glutton and drinker of wyne/ and a frend vnto publicans & synners. Neuerthelater wysdome is iustified of hir chyldren. The sonne of man came eatyng drynckyng and they say, Behold a ai-tton and drincker of wine, a friende ran publicans and synners, not with ftaading wysedome is iustified of her children.
11:20 Then began he to vpbrayd the cities/ in which most of his miracles were done/ because they mended not. Then began he to vpbrayd the cyties which most of hys miracles were done in, because they repented not of their synnes. Then began he to vpbrayd the cities/ in which most of his miracles were done/ because they mended not. 11:21 Wo be to the Chorasin. Wo be to the Bethsaida: for yf the miracles which were shewed in you/ had bene done in Tyre and Sidon/ they had repented longe agone in sack cloth and asshes. Wo vnto the Chorasin: Wo vnto the Bethsaida: for yf the miracles which were shewed in you, had bene done in the cytie of Tyre or Sidon, they had repented of their synnes longe agon in sack cloth and asshes. Wo be to thee Chorazin: Wo be to thee Bethsaida: for if the miracles which were shewed in you, had ben done in Tyre and Sidon, they had repented longe tgone in sackcloth and asshes.
11:22 Neuerthelesse I say to you: it shall be esier for Tyre and Sidon at the daye of iudgement/ thenfor you. Neuerthelesse I saye vnto you: it shall be easier for Tyre & Sidon at the daye of iudgement, then for you. Neuerthelesse I say to you: it shall be esier for Tyre and Sidon at the daye of iudgement/ thenfor you. Neuertheles I say to you: It shalbe easier for Tyre and Sidon at the day of iudgement, then for yon.
11:23 And thou Capernaum/ which art lyft vp vnto heuen/ shalt be brought doune to hell. For yf the miracles which haue bene done in the/ had bene shewed in zodom: they had remayned to this daye. And thou Capernaum, which art lyft vp vnto heuen, shalt be brought downe to hell. For yf the miracles which haue bene done in the, had bene shewed in Zodom: they had remayned vntill this daye. And thou Capernaum/ which art lyft vp vnto heuen/ shalt be brought doune to hell. For yf the miracles which haue bene done in the/ had bene shewed in zodom: they had remayned to this daye. And thou Capernaum, which art lyfted rp vnto heauen, shalt be broght downe to hel: For yf the miracles which haue a bm done in thee, had bin shewed in Soikme, they had remayned to this day.
11:24 Neuerthelesse I saye vnto you: it shalbe easiar for the londe of Zodom in the daye of iudgement/ then for the. Neuerthelesse, I saye vnto you: that it shalbe easier for the land of Zodom in the daye of iudgement, then for the. Neuerthelesse I saye vnto you: it shalbe easiar for the londe of Zodom in the daye of iudgement/ then for the. Nenertheles I say vnto you, that it thalbe easier for the land of Sodome in the day of iudgement, then for thee.
11:25 At that tyme Iesus answered and sayd: I prayse the o father Lorde of heuen and erth/ because thou hast hyd these thinges from the wyse and prudent/ and hast opened them vnto babes: At that tyme Iesus answered and sayde: I thanke the O father, Lord of heauen & erth, because thou hast hid these thinges from the wyse and prudent, and hast shewed them vnto babes, At that tyme Iesus answered and sayd: I prayse the o father Lorde of heuen and erth/ because thou hast hyd these thinges from the wyse and prudent/ and hast opened them vnto babes: At that tyme Iesus answered, and sayed, I prayse thee O father, Lorde of heauen ad earth, because thou hast hid these thynges from the wise and men of vnderstandhig and hast opened them vnto babes.
11:26 euen so father/ for so it pleased the. verely father, euen so was it thy good pleasure. euen so father/ for so it pleased the. Verely father, euen so it was thy good pleasure.
11:27 All thinges are geuen vnto me of my father. And nomā knoweth the sonne but the father: nether knoweth eny man the father/ saue the sonne/ and he to whome the sonne will open him. All thinges are geuen ouer vnto me of my father. And noman knoweth the sonne but the father: nether knoweth eny man the father, saue the sonne, and he to whomsoeuer the sonne will open him. All thinges are geuen vnto me of my father. And nomā knoweth the sonne but the father: nether knoweth eny man the father/ saue the sonne/ and he to whome the sonne will open him. All thynges are genen vnto me of my father: And no man knoweth the sonne but the father: nether knoweth any man the father, saue the sonne, and he to whome the sonne “3 open bin.
11:28 Come vnto me all ye that laboure and are laden and I will ease you. Come vnto me all ye that laboure: and are laden, and I will ease you. Come vnto me all ye that laboure and are laden and I will ease you. Come vnto me all ye that are wearie ^ laden, and I wil ease you.
11:29 Take my yoke on you & lerne of me/ for I am meke and lowly in herte: and ye shall fynd rest vnto youre soules. Take my yock vpon you, and lerne of me, for I am meke & lowly in herte: and ye shall fynde rest vnto youre soules. Take my yoke on you & lerne of me/ for I am meke and lowly in herte: and ye shall fynd rest vnto youre soules. Take ov yoke on you, and learne of me that I an meke and lowly in heart: and ye shal fade rest vnto your soules.
11:30 For my yoke is easy/ and my burdē is lyght. For my yocke is easy, and my burden is light. For my yoke is easy/ and my burdē is lyght. For my yoke is easy, & my burden is lyght.
