9:1 And he sayde vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you: There be some of them that stonde here/ which shall not taste of deeth/ tyll they haue sene the kyngdome of God come with power. And he sayd vnto them: Verely, I saye vnto you: Ther be some among them that stande here, which shall not taste of death, tyll they haue sene the kyngdome of God come with power. 9:2 ANd after .vj. dayes Iesus toke Peter/ Iames & Iohn/ & leede them vp into an hye mountayne out of the waye alone/ & he was transfigured before them. And after sixe dayes Iesus taketh Peter and Iames, and Iohn, and leedeth them vp into an hye mountayne out of the waye alone: and he was transfigured before them. ANd after .vj. dayes Iesus toke Peter/ Iames & Iohn/ & leede them vp into an hye mountayne out of the waye alone/ & he was transfigured before them. Six dayes after, Iesus toke Peter, lames, and Iohn, and led them vp into an hye mountayne out of the way alone, and he was transfigured before them.
9:3 And his rayment dyd shyne/ and was made very whyte/ euen as snowe: so whyte as no fuller can make vpon the erth And hys rayment dyd shyne, and became very whyte, euen as snowe: so whyt as no fuller can make vpon the earth. 9:4 And ther apered vnto them Helyas with Moses: and they talked with Iesu. And ther appeared vnto them Elias with Moses. And they talked with Iesu. And ther apered vnto them Helyas with Moses: and they talked with Iesu. And there appeared vnto them Eliaa with Moses: and they talked with Iesus.
9:5 And Peter answered and sayde to Iesu: Master here is good beinge for vs/ let vs make .iij. tabernacles one for the/ one for Moses/ and one for Helyas. And Peter answered & sayth to Iesu: Master, here is good beynge for vs: let vs make also .iij. tabernacles, one for the, and one for Moses, and one for Helias. And Peter answered and sayde to Iesu: Master here is good beinge for vs/ let vs make .iij. tabernacles one for the/ one for Moses/ and one for Helyas. And Peter answered, and sayd to Iesus, Master, here is good beyng for vs, let va make also three tabernacles, one for thee one for Moses, and one for Elias.
9:6 And yet he wist not what he sayde: for they were afrayde. For he wyst not what he sayd: for they were afrayed. And yet he wist not what he sayde: for they were afrayde. And yet he wist not what he sayd: for they were afrayd.
9:7 And ther was a cloude that shaddowed them. And a voyce came out of the cloude sayinge: This is my deare sonne/ heare him. And there was a cloude that shadowed them. And a voyce came out of the cloude, saying: Thys is my beloued sonne: heare hym. And ther was a cloude that shaddowed them. And a voyce came out of the cloude sayinge: This is my deare sonne/ heare him. And there was a cloud that shadowed them, and a voyce came out of the cloud, saying, Thys is my deare Sonne, heare him.
9:8 And sodenly/ they loked rounde aboute them/ and sawe no man more then Iesus only with them. And sodenly whan they had loked rounde aboute, they sawe no man more then Iesus onely with them. 9:9 And as they came doune from the hyll/ he charged them/ that they shulde tell no man what they had sene tyll the sonne of mā were rysen from deeth agayne. And as they came downe from the hyll, he charged them, that they shuld tell no man those thynges that they had sene, tyll the sonne of man were rysen from death agayne. 9:10 And they kepte that sayinge with them/ & demaunded one of another/ what that rysinge from deeth agayne shuld meane? 9:11 And they axed him sayinge: why then saye the Scribes/ that Helyas muste fyrst come? And they asked hym, sayenge: why then saye the scribes, that Helias must first come? And they axed him sayinge: why then saye the Scribes/ that Helyas muste fyrst come? Also they asked hym saying, Why then say the Scribes, that Elias must fyrst come?
9:12 He answered & sayde vnto thē: Helyas verely shall fyrst come and restore all thinges. And also the sonne of man as it is wrytten/ shall suffre many thinges and shalbe set at nought. He answered and sayd: vnto them: Helias verely when he commeth fyrst, restoreth all thynges. And the sonne of man (as it is writen of him) shall suffre many thynges, & be sett at naught. He answered & sayde vnto thē: Helyas verely shall fyrst come and restore all thinges. And also the sonne of man as it is wrytten/ shall suffre many thinges and shalbe set at nought. He answered, and sayd vnto them, Elias verely shal fyrst come and restore all thinges. and as it is wrytten of the Sonne of man, he must suffre many thinges and be set at noght.
9:13 Moreouer I saye vnto you that Helias is come/ and they haue done vnto him whatsoeuer pleased thē/ as it is wrytten of him. But I saye vnto you, thut Helias is come, and they haue done vnto hym whatsoeuer they wolde, as it was wryten of hym. Moreouer I saye vnto you that Helias is come/ and they haue done vnto him whatsoeuer pleased thē/ as it is wrytten of him. But I say vnto you, that Elias is come: and they haue done vnto him whatsoeuer pleased them, as it is wrytten of hym.
9:14 And he came to his disciples & sawe moche people aboute them/ & the scribes disputinge with them. And whan he came to hys disciples, he sawe moch people about them, & the scribes disputing wt them. And he came to his disciples & sawe moche people aboute them/ & the scribes disputinge with them. 9:15 And streyght waye all the people when they behelde him/ were amased/ & ran to him/ and saluted him. And streight waye all the people (whan they behelde hym) were amased, and ran to hym, & saluted hym. 9:16 And he sayde vnto the Scribes: what dispute ye with them? And he asked the scribes: what dispute ye among them? And he sayde vnto the Scribes: what dispute ye with them? Then he asked the Scribes, Wherof dispute you among your selues?
9:17 And one of the cōpanye answered & sayde: Master/ I haue brought my sonne vnto the/ which hath a domme sprite. And one of the company answered, & sayde: Master, I haue brought vnto the my sonne, whych hath a dome sprete. And one of the cōpanye answered & sayde: Master/ I haue brought my sonne vnto the/ which hath a domme sprite. And one of the companie answered and sayd, Master, I haue broght my sonne vnto thee, which hath a domme spirite.
9:18 And whensoeuer he taketh him/ he teareth him/ & he fometh/ & gnassheth with his tethe/ and pineth awaye. And I spake to thy disciples that they shuld caste him out/ and they coulde not. And whensoeuer he taketh him, he teareth him, and he fometh, and gnassheth with hys teth, and pineth awaye. And I spake to thy disciples that they shuld caste hym out, and they coulde not. And whensoeuer he taketh him/ he teareth him/ & he fometh/ & gnassheth with his tethe/ and pineth awaye. And I spake to thy disciples that they shuld caste him out/ and they coulde not. And whersoeuer he taketh hym, he teareth hym, and he fometh, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pyneth away. And I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out, and they could not.
9:19 He answered him and sayde: O generacion without fayth/ how longe shall I be with you? How longe shall I suffre you? Bringe him vnto me. He answereth him, and sayth: O faithles nacion, how longe shall I be wt you? How longe shall I suffre you? Brynge hym vnto me. He answered him and sayde: O generacion without fayth/ how longe shall I be with you? How longe shall I suffre you? Bringe him vnto me. He answered hym and sayd, O generation without &yth, how long shal I be with you? how long shal I suffre you? Bryng him vnto me.
9:20 And they brought him vnto him. And assone as the sprete sawe him/ he tare him. And he fell doune on the grounde walowinge & fominge. And they brought him vnto hym. And assone as the sprete sawe hym, he tare him. And he fell downe on the ground, walowing & foming. And they brought him vnto him. And assone as the sprete sawe him/ he tare him. 9:21 And he axed his father: how lōge is it a goo/ sens this hath happened him? And he sayd/ of a chylde: And he asketh his father: how longe is it ago: sens thys happened hym? And he sayde: of a chylde: And he axed his father: how lōge is it a goo/ sens this hath happened him? And he sayd/ of a chylde: Then he asked his rather, How long is it ago, since this hath happenedhym?Andhe sayd, Ofachylde:
9:22 & ofte tymes casteth him into the fyre/ & also into the water/ to destroye him. But yf thou canst do eny thinge/ haue mercy on vs/ and helpe vs. & oft tymes it hath cast hym into the fyre, & into the water, to destroye hym. But yf thou canst do eny thing, haue mercy on vs and helpe vs. & ofte tymes casteth him into the fyre/ & also into the water/ to destroye him. But yf thou canst do eny thinge/ haue mercy on vs/ and helpe vs. And oft times casteth him into the fyre, and also into the water, to destroy him. But if thou canst do any thyng, help vs. and haue compassion vpon vs.
9:23 And Iesus sayde vnto him: ye yf thou couldest beleue/ all thinges are possible to him that beleuith. Iesus sayd vnto hym: yf thou couldest beleue all thynges are possyble to hym that beleueth. And Iesus sayde vnto him: ye yf thou couldest beleue/ all thinges are possible to him that beleuith. And Iesus sayd vnto him. If thou canst beleue it, all thynges are possible to him that beleueth.
9:24 And streygth waye the father of the chylde cryed with teares sayinge: Lorde I beleue/ helpe myne vnbelefe. And streyght waye the father of the chyld cried with teares, saieng, Lord, I beleue, helpe thou myne vnbelefe. And streygth waye the father of the chylde cryed with teares sayinge: Lorde I beleue/ helpe myne vnbelefe. And straight way the father of the boye cryed with teares, saying, Lord, I beleue, help my vnbelief.
9:25 When Iesus sawe that the people came rūninge together vnto him/ he rebuked the foulle sprete/ sayinge vnto him: Thou dōme and deffe sprite/ I charge the come oute of him/ & entre no more into him. When Iesus sawe that the people came runnyng together vnto him, he rebuked the foule sprete, saying vnto hym: Thou domme & deeff sprete, I charge the come out of him, and entre nomore into him. When Iesus sawe that the people came rūninge together vnto him/ he rebuked the foulle sprete/ sayinge vnto him: Thou dōme and deffe sprite/ I charge the come oute of him/ & entre no more into him. When lesus sawe that the people came runnyng together, he rebuked the foule sprite, saying vnto him, Thou domme and deafe spirite, I charge thee come out of hym, and entre no more into him.
9:26 And the sprite cryed/ and rent him sore/ and came out: And he was as one that had bene deed/ in so moche that many sayde/ he is deed. And the sprete (whan he had cried, & rent hym sore) came out of hym, and he was as one that had bene dead, in so moch that many sayd: he is deed. And the sprite cryed/ and rent him sore/ and came out: And he was as one that had bene deed/ in so moche that many sayde/ he is deed. And the sprite cried, and rent him sore, and came out: and he was as one that had bene dead, ituomwhe that many sayd, He is dead.
9:27 But Iesus caught his honde and lyfte him vp: & he rose. But Iesus caught hys hand, and lyft him vp: and he rose. But Iesus caught his honde and lyfte him vp: & he rose. But lesus tooke his hand and lyft him vp, and he rose.
9:28 And when he was come into the housse/ his disciples axed him secretly: why coulde not we caste him out? And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked hym secretly: why coulde not we cast hym oute? 9:29 And he sayde vnto them: this kynde can by no nother meanes come forth/ but by prayer and fastinge. And he sayde vnto them: this kynde can come forth by nothing: but by prayer and fastynge. 9:30 And they departed thens/ and toke their iorney thorow Galile/ and he wolde not that eny man shuld haue knowē it. 9:31 For he taught his disciples/ & sayde vnto them: the sonne of man shalbe deliuered into the hondes of mē/ and they shall kyll him and after that he is kylled he shall aryse agayne the thryd daye. For he taught hys disciples, and sayd vnto them: the sonne of man shalbe deliuered into the handes of men, and they shall kyll hym: and after that he is kylled, he shall aryse agayne the thyrd daye. For he taught his disciples/ & sayde vnto them: the sonne of man shalbe deliuered into the hondes of mē/ and they shall kyll him and after that he is kylled he shall aryse agayne the thryd daye. For he taught his disciples, and sayd vnto them, The Sonne of man shalbe deliuered into the handes of men, and they shal kyl him, and after that he is kylled, he shal ryse agayne the thyrd day.
9:32 But they wiste not what that sayinge meant/ and were afrayed to axe him. But they wist not what he sayde, and were afrayed to aske him. But they wiste not what that sayinge meant/ and were afrayed to axe him. But they wist not what the saying ment, and wereafrayd to aske him.
9:33 And he came to Capernaum. And when he was come to housse/ he axed thē: what was it that ye disputed bytwene you by the waye? And he came to Capernaum. And when he was come into the house, he asked them: what was it that ye disputed among yourselues by the waye? And he came to Capernaum. 9:34 And they helde their peace: for by the waye they reasoned amonge thē selues/ who shulde be the chefest. 9:35 And he sate doune & called the twelue vnto him/ & sayde to them: yf eny man desyre to be fyrst/ the same shalbe last of all/ & seruaunt vnto all. And when he was set downe, he called the twelue to hym, and sayd vnto them: yf eny man desyre to be fyrst, the same shalbe last of all, and seruaunt to all. And he sate doune & called the twelue vnto him/ & sayde to them: yf eny man desyre to be fyrst/ the same shalbe last of all/ & seruaunt vnto all. And he sat doune and called the twelue vnto him, and said to them, If any man desire to be fyrst, the same shalbe last of all, and seruant vnto all.
9:36 And he toke a chylde/ & set him in the myddes of them/ & toke him in his armes and sayde vnto them: And he toke a chylde, and set hym in the myddes of them: & when he had taken hym in hys armes, he sayde vnto them: And he toke a chylde/ & set him in the myddes of them/ & toke him in his armes and sayde vnto them: And he tooke a litle thilde and set hym in the myddes of them, and tooke him in his armes, and sayd vnto them,
9:37 Whosoeuer receaueth eny soche a chylde in my name/ receaueth me. And whosoeuer receaueth me/ receaueth not me/ but him that sent me. whosoeuer receaueth eny soche a childe in my name, receaueth me. And whosoeuer receaueth me, receaueth not me, but hym that sent me. Whosoeuer receaueth eny soche a chylde in my name/ receaueth me. And whosoeuer receaueth me/ receaueth not me/ but him that sent me. Whosoeuer shal receaue suche a litle chylde in my name, receaueth me: and whosoeuer receaueth me, receaueth not me, but him that sente me.
9:38 Iohn answered him sayinge: Master/ we sawe one castinge oute deuyls in thy name/ which foloweth not vs and we forbade him/ because he foloweth vs not. Iohn answered hym, sayinge: Master, we sawe one cast out deuyls in thy name, & he foloweth not vs: and we forbade hym, because he foloweth vs not. Iohn answered him sayinge: Master/ we sawe one castinge oute deuyls in thy name/ which foloweth not vs and we forbade him/ because he foloweth vs not. iohn answered him saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils by thy name, which foloweth not vs, and we forbad him, because he foloweth vs not.
9:39 But Iesus sayde forbid him not. For ther is no mā that shall do a myracle in my name/ that can lightlye speake euyll of me. But Iesus sayde: forbyd him not. For ther is no man whych (yf he do a myracle in my name) can lyghtely speake euill of me. But Iesus sayde forbid him not. For ther is no mā that shall do a myracle in my name/ that can lightlye speake euyll of me. But Iesus sayd, Hynder him not: for there is no man that can do a miracle by my name, that can lyghtly speake euil of me.
9:40 Whosoeuer is not agaynst you/ is on youre parte. For he that is not agaynst vs, is on oure parte. Whosoeuer is not agaynst you/ is on youre parte. For whosoeuer is not against vs, is on our parte.
9:41 And whosoeuer shall geue you a cuppe of water to drinke for my names sake/ because ye belonge to Christe/ verely I saye vnto you/ he shall not loose his rewarde. Whosoeuer shall in my name geue you a cuppe of water to drincke, because ye belonge to Chryste, verely I saye vnto you: he shall not loose hys reward. And whosoeuer shall geue you a cuppe of water to drinke for my names sake/ because ye belonge to Christe/ verely I saye vnto you/ he shall not loose his rewarde. And whosoeuer shal geue you a cup of water to drinke for my names sake, because ye belonge to Christe, verely I say vnto you, he shal not lose hys rewarde.
9:42 And whosoeuer shall offende one of these lytelons/ that beleue in me/ it were better for him/ that a mylstone were hanged aboute his necke/ & that he were cast into the see. And whosoeuer shall offende one of these lytelons, that beleue in me, it were better for hym, yf a mylstone were hanged aboute his necke, and he were cast into the see. And whosoeuer shall offende one of these lytelons/ that beleue in me/ it were better for him/ that a mylstone were hanged aboute his necke/ & that he were cast into the see. And whosoeuer shal offend one of these lytleones, that beleue in me, it were good for him, that a mylstone were hanged about hys necke, and that he were cast into the sea.
9:43 Wherfore yf thy hande offende the/ cut him of. It is better for the/ to entre into lyfe maymed/ thē hauynge two hondes go into hell/ into fyre that neuer shalbe quēched/ Wherfore yf thy hande hynder the, cut it of. It is beter for the, to entre into lyfe maymed, then (hauynge two handes) to go into hell, into fyre that neuer shalbe quenched, Wherfore yf thy hande offende the/ cut him of. It is better for the/ to entre into lyfe maymed/ thē hauynge two hondes go into hell/ into fyre that neuer shalbe quēched/ Wherefore if thy hand cause thee to offende, cut it of: It is good for thee, to entre into lyfe, maymed, rather then hauying two handes, go into hel, intofyre that neuer shalbe quenched:
9:44 where there worme dyeth not/ & the fyre neuer goeth oute. where theyr worme dyeth not, and the fyre goeth not out. where there worme dyeth not/ & the fyre neuer goeth oute. Where their worme dieth not, and the fyre neuer goeth out.
9:45 Lykewyse yf thy fote offende the/ cut him of. For it is better for the to goo halt into lyfe/ then hauinge two fete to be cast into hell/ into fyre that neuer shalbe quēched: And yf thy fote be a hynderaunce vnto the, cut it of. It is better for the to go halt into lyfe, then (hauynge two fete) to be cast into hell, into fyre that neuer shalbe quenched: Lykewyse yf thy fote offende the/ cut him of. For it is better for the to goo halt into lyfe/ then hauinge two fete to be cast into hell/ into fyre that neuer shalbe quēched: Lykewise, if thy foote canse thee to offende, cut it of. For it is good for thee to go halt into lyfe, rather then hauyng two feete to be cast into hel, into fyre that neuer shalbe quenched:
9:46 where there worme dyeth not/ & the fyre neuer goeth oute. where theyr worme dyeth not, and the fyre goeth not out. where there worme dyeth not/ & the fyre neuer goeth oute. Where their worme dieth not, and the fyre neuer goeth out. Euen so, if thyne eye cause thee to offende, plucke it out.
9:47 Euen so yf thyne eye offende the/ plucke him oute. It is better for the to go into the kyngdome of God with one eye/ then hauinge two eyes to be cast into hell fyre: And yf thyne eye hinder the plucke it out. It is better for the to go into the kyngedome of God wyth one eye, then (hauynge two eyes) to be cast into hell fyre: Euen so yf thyne eye offende the/ plucke him oute. It is better for the to go into the kyngdome of God with one eye/ then hauinge two eyes to be cast into hell fyre: It is good for thee to go into the kyngdome of God, with one eye rather then hauing two eyes, to be cast into hel fyre.
9:48 where there worme dyeth not/ & the fyre neuer goeth oute. where theyr worme dyeth not, and the fyre goeth not out. where there worme dyeth not/ & the fyre neuer goeth oute. Where their worme dyeth not, and the fyre neuer goeth out.
9:49 Euery man therfore shalbe salted with fyre. And euery sacrifice shalbe seasoned with salt. Euery man shalbe salted wyth fyre. And euery sacrifyce shalbe seasoned with salt. Euery man therfore shalbe salted with fyre. And euery sacrifice shalbe seasoned with salt. Euery man therfore shalbe salted with fyre. And euery sacrifice shalbe seasoned with salte.
9:50 Salt is good. But yf the salt be vnsauery/ what shall ye salte therwith? Se that ye haue salt in youre selues: & haue peace amonge youre selues/ one with another. Salt is good. But yf the salt be vnsauery, what shall ye season ther wyth? haue salt in youre selues: and haue peace amonge youre selues, one wyth another. Salt is good. But yf the salt be vnsauery/ what shall ye salte therwith? Se that ye haue salt in youre selues: & haue peace amonge youre selues/ one with another. Salte is good: but if the salte be vnsauery, wherwith shal ye season it? See that ye haue salte in your selues: and haue peace among your selues, one with another.
