Mark: Chapter 05

5:1 ANd they cam ouer to the other syde of the see into the countre of the Gaderenites. And they cam ouer to the other syde of the see into the countre of the Gaderenites. 5:2 And when he was come out of the shippe/ there met him out of the graues a man possessed of an vncleane sprite/ And when he was come out of the shippe, immediatly there met hym out of the graues a man possessed of an vncleane sprete, And when he was come out of the shippe/ there met him out of the graues a man possessed of an vncleane sprite/ And when he was come out of the ship, there met him out of the graues, a man possessed of an vncleane sprite:
5:3 which had his abydinge amōge the graues. And no man coulde bynde him: no not with cheynes/ whych had hys abydinge amonge the graues. And no man coulde bynde him: no not with cheynes, which had his abydinge amōge the graues. And no man coulde bynde him: no not with cheynes/ Which had his abyding among the graues: And no man coulde binde him, no, not with cheynes.
5:4 because that when he was often bounde with fetters & cheynes/ he plucked the chaynes asundre/ & brake the fetters in peces. Nether coulde eny man tame him. because that when he was often bounde with fetters and cheynes, he plucked the chaynes a sundre, and brake the fetters in peces, Nether coulde eny man tame him. because that when he was often bounde with fetters & cheynes/ he plucked the chaynes asundre/ & brake the fetters in peces. 5:5 And alwayes bothe nyght & daye he cryed in the mountaynes & in the graues/ and bet him selfe with stones. And alwayes, nyght and daye he was in the mountaynes and in the graues, cryeng and beatyng hym selfe wyth stones. 5:7 & cryed with a loude voyce & sayde: what haue I to do with the Iesus the sonne of the moost hyest God? I require thee in the name of God, that thou torment me not.
5:8 For he had sayd vnto him: come out of the mā thou fowle sprite. For he sayd vnto hym: come out of the man thou foule sprete. For he had sayd vnto him: come out of the mā thou fowle sprite. (For he said vnto him, Come out of the man thou foule sprite.)
5:9 And he axed him: what is thy name? And he answered sayinge: my name is Legion/ for we are many. And he asked hym: what is thy name? And he answered and sayde vnto hym: my name is Legion, for we are many. And he axed him: what is thy name? And he answered sayinge: my name is Legion/ for we are many. And he asked him, What is thy name? and he answered saying, My name is Legion, for we are many.
5:10 And he prayd him instantly/ that he wolde not sende them awaye out of the countre. And he prayd hym instantly, that he wolde not sende them awaye out of the countre. 5:11 And ther was there nye vnto the mountayns a greate heerd of swyne fedinge/ But ther was there nye vnto the mountayns a greate heerd of swyne fedynge, And ther was there nye vnto the mountayns a greate heerd of swyne fedinge/ And there was there in the mountaynes a greate hearde of swyne, feedyng.
5:12 & all the deuyls besought him sayinge: sende vs in to the heerde of swyne/ that we maye enter into them. & all the deuyls besought him, sayinge: sende vs in to the heerd of swyne, that we maye enter into them. & all the deuyls besought him sayinge: sende vs in to the heerde of swyne/ that we maye enter into them. 5:13 And anone Iesus gaue thē leaue. And the vnclene sprites went out & entred in to the swyne. And the heerd starteled/ & ran hedling in to the see. They were about .ij.M swyne/ and they were drouned in the see. And anone Iesus gaue them leaue. And the vncleane spretes went out, and entred in to the swyne. And the heerd was caryed headlyng into the see. They were allmost .ij.M. and were drowned in the see. And anone Iesus gaue thē leaue. And the vnclene sprites went out & entred in to the swyne. And the heerd starteled/ & ran hedling in to the see. They were about .ij.M swyne/ and they were drouned in the see. And anon Iesus gaue them leaue. And the vnclene spirits went out and entred into the swyne: and the hearde ran headlyng from the hye bancke into the sea. (TTiey were about, two thousand swyne) and they were drouned in the sea.
5:14 And the swyn heerdes fleed/ & tolde it in the cyte/ & in the countre. And they came out for to se what had hapened: And the swyne heerdes fleed, and tolde it in the cytie, and in the feldes. And they went out for to se, what had happened: And the swyn heerdes fleed/ & tolde it in the cyte/ & in the countre. And they came out for to se what had hapened: And the swyneheardes fled and toulde it in the citie, and in the countrye: and they came out for to see what had happened.
5:15 and came to Iesus/ & sawe him that was vexed with the fende & had the legion/ syt/ both clothed & in his ryght mynde/ and were afrayed. & came to Iesus, and sawe him that was vexed with the fende & had the Legion, syt, both clothed and in his ryght mynde, and they were afrayed. and came to Iesus/ & sawe him that was vexed with the fende & had the legion/ syt/ both clothed & in his ryght mynde/ and were afrayed. 5:16 And they that sawe it tolde them/ how it had hapened to him that was possessed with the deuyll: and also of the swyne. And they that sawe it tolde them, how it had happened to him that was possessed wyth the deuyll: & also of the swyne. 5:17 And they begāne to praye him/ that he wolde departe from their coostes. And they beganne to praye hym, that he wolde departe out of their coast. And they begāne to praye him/ that he wolde departe from their coostes. Then they began to pray hym, that he woulde depart from their coastes.
5:18 And when he was come into the shyppe/ he that had the deuyll/ prayed him that he myght be with him. And when he was come into the shyp, he that had the deuyl, prayed him that he myght be with him.
5:19 Howbeit Iesus wolde not suffre him/ but sayde vnto him: go home in to thyne awne housse and to thy frendes/ and shewe them what great thinges the Lorde hath done vnto the/ and how he had compassion on the. Howbeit, Iesus wolde not suffre hym, but sayde vnto him: go to thyne awne house and to thy frendes, and shewe them how great thynges the Lorde hath done for the, and how he hath had compassyon on the. Howbeit, Iesus would not sufFre him, but sayd vnto him, Go home to thy house, and friendes, and shewe them what great thinges the Lord hath done vnto thee, and how he hath had compassion on thee.
5:20 And he departed/ & beganne to publisshe in the ten cities/ what greate thinges Iesus had done vnto him/ & all men dyd merueyle. 5:21 And when Iesus was come ouer agayne by shyppe vnto the other syde/ moche people gadered to him/ & he was nye vnto the see. 5:22 And beholde/ ther came one of the rulers of the Synagoge/ whose name was Iairus: & when he sawe him/ he fell doune at his fete/ And beholde, ther came one of the rulers of the Synagoge, whose name was Iairus: and when he sawe him, he fel downe at his fete, And beholde/ ther came one of the rulers of the Synagoge/ whose name was Iairus: & when he sawe him/ he fell doune at his fete/ And beholde, there came one of the rulers of the Synagoge, whose name was Iairus: and when he sawe him, he fel downe at his feete.
5:23 & besought him greatly sayinge: my doughter lyeth at poynt of deeth/ I wolde thou woldest come & laye thy honde on her/ that she myght be safe and liue. and besought hym greatly, sayinge: my daughter lyeth at poynt of deeth, I pray the come, and laye thy hande on her, that she maye be safe and lyue. & besought him greatly sayinge: my doughter lyeth at poynt of deeth/ I wolde thou woldest come & laye thy honde on her/ that she myght be safe and liue. And besoght him greatly, saying, My litle daughter lyeth at poynt of death, I praye thee that thou wouldest come and laye thy handes on her, that she may be deliuered of her disease, and lyue.
5:24 And he went with him/ & moche people folowed him/ and thronged him. And he went with hym, & moch people folowed him, & thronged hym. And he went with him/ & moche people folowed him/ and thronged him. Ther he went with him, and muche people folowed hym, and thronged him.
5:25 And ther was a certen woman/ which was diseased of an yssue of bloude .xij. yeres/ And ther was a certen woman, which had bene diseased of an yssue of bloude .xij. yeres, And ther was a certen woman/ which was diseased of an yssue of bloude .xij. yeres/ (And there was a certayne woman, which was diseased of an yssue of bloud twelue yeres.

5:27 When she had herde of Iesus: she came into the preace behinde him/ & touched his garmēt. When she had herde of Iesus, she came in the preasse behinde him, & touched his garment. 5:28 For she thought: yf I maye but touche his clothes I shall be whole. For she sayde: yf I maye but touch his clothes, I shall be whole. For she thought: yf I maye but touche his clothes I shall be whole. If I may but touche his clothes I shal be whole.
5:29 And streyght waye her foūtayne of bloude was dryed vp/ and she felt in her body/ that she was healed of the plage. And streyght waye the fountayne of her bloude was dryed vp, & she felt in her body, that she was healed of that plage. And streyght waye her foūtayne of bloude was dryed vp/ and she felt in her body/ that she was healed of the plage. And strayght way the course of her blonde was dryed vp, and she felt in her body, that she was healed of that plague.
5:30 And Iesus immediatly felt in him selfe/ the vertue that wēt out of him/ and tourned him roundaboute in the preace/ & sayde: who touched my clothes? And Iesus immediatly felynge in him selfe, that vertue proceaded from him, tourned him aboute in the prease, and sayde, who touched my clothes? And immediately when Iesus dyd knowe in hym self, the vertue that went out of hym, he tourned him rounde about in the prease and sayd, Who hath touched my clothes?
5:31 And his disciples sayde vnto him: seist thou the people thrust the/ & yet axest/ who dyd touche me? And hys dyscyples sayde vnto him: thou seest the people thrust the, and askest, thou who dyd touch me? And his disciples sayde vnto him: seist thou the people thrust the/ & yet axest/ who dyd touche me? And his disciples said vnto him, Thou seeist the people thrust thee, and yet askest Who dyd touche me?
5:32 And he loked roūd about/ for to se her that had done that thinge. And he loked round about for to se her that had done thys thynge. And he loked roūd about/ for to se her that had done that thinge. Andheloked roundabout, for to see her that had done that thing.
5:33 The woman feared and trembled (for she knew what was done with in her) & she came & fell doune before him/ & tolde him the truth of euery thinge. But the woman fearing and trembling (knowyng what was done wyth in her) came, and fell downe before him, & tolde him all the truth. 5:34 And he sayde to her: Doughter thy fayth hath made the whoale: go in peace/ and be whole of thy plage. And he sayd vnto her: Daughter thy fayth hath saued the: go in peace, and be whole of thy plage. And he sayde to her: Doughter thy fayth hath made the whoale: go in peace/ and be whole of thy plage. And he sayd to her, Daughter, thy fayth hath made thee whole, go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.)
5:35 Whyll he yet spake/ ther came frō the ruler of the synagoges housse/ certayne which sayde: thy doughter is deed: why diseasest thou the master eny further? Whyll he yet spake, ther came from the ruler of the Synagoges house, certayne which sayd: thy daughter is deed: why diseasest thou the Master any further? Whyll he yet spake/ ther came frō the ruler of the synagoges housse/ certayne which sayde: thy doughter is deed: why diseasest thou the master eny further? 5:36 Assone as Iesus hearde that worde spoken/ he sayde vnto the ruler of the Synagoge: be not afrayed/ only beleue. 5:37 And he suffred no man to folowe him moare then Peter & Iames and Iohn the brother of Iames. And he suffred no man to folowe him, saue Peter, and Iames, and Iohn the brother of Iames. And he suffred no man to folowe him moare then Peter & Iames and Iohn the brother of Iames. And he suffered no mantofolowe hym more then Peter and lames, and Iohn, the brother of lames.
5:38 And he came vnto the housse of the ruler of the synagoge/ & sawe the wondringe/ & them that wepte & wayled greatly/ And he came vnto the house of the ruler of the Synagoge, and sawe the wondringe: and them that wepte and wayled greatly, And he came vnto the housse of the ruler of the synagoge/ & sawe the wondringe/ & them that wepte & wayled greatly/ And he ramo vnto the house of the ruler of the Synagoge, and sawe the wonderyng, and them that wept and wayled greatly.
5:39 & wēt in & sayde vnto thē: why make ye this a doo & wepe? The mayden is not deed/ but slepeth. and went in, and sayde vnto them: why make ye this a doo, and wepe? 5:40 And they lawght him to scorne. Then he put them all out and toke the father and the mother of the mayden/ and them that were with him/ and entred in where the mayden laye/ And they laught him to scorne. But he put them all out, and taketh the father and the mother of the damosell, and them that were wyth him, and entreth in where the damosell laye, And they lawght him to scorne. 5:41 and toke the mayden by the honde/ and sayde vnto hyr: Tabitha/ cumi: which is by interpretacion: mayden I saye vnto the/ aryse. & taketh the damosell by the hande & sayeth vnto hyr: Tabita, cumi: whych is (yf one do interprete it) damosell, I saye vnto the: aryse. and toke the mayden by the honde/ and sayde vnto hyr: Tabitha/ cumi: which is by interpretacion: mayden I saye vnto the/ aryse. And toke the may den by the hand, and savd vnto her, Talitha cumi, which is by interpretation, Mayden, I say vnto thee, aiyse.
5:42 And streyght the maydē arose/ and went on her fete. For she was of the age of twelue yeres. And they were astonyed at it out of measure. And streyght waye the damosell arose, and walked.
