5:1 A Certayne man named Ananias wt Saphira his wyfe solde a possessiō/ A Certayne man named Ananias with SaphjTa his wyfe solde a possessyon, A Certayne man named Ananias with Saphira his wyfe solde a possession, BVT a certayne man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wyfe, solde a possession.
5:2 & kepte awaye parte of ye pryce (his wyfe also beyng of counsell) and brought a certayne parte/ & layd it doune at ye Apostlſ fete. and kepte awaye parte of the pryce (hys wyfe also beyng of counsell) and brought a certayne parte, and layd it downe at the Apostles fete. & kepte awaye parte of the pryce (his wyfe also beyng of counsell) & brought a certayne parte, and layde it doune at the Apostles fete. 5:3 Then sayde Peter: Ananias/ how is it yt Sathan hath filled thyne hert/ yt thou shuldest lye vnto the holy goost/ & kepe awaye parte of ye pryce of ye lyuelod. But Peter sayd: Ananias, how is it, that Sathan hath fylled thyne hert, that thou shuldest lye vnto the holy goost, and kepe awaye parte of the pryce of the lande? Then sayde Peter: Ananias, how is it that Sathan hath filled thyne hert, that thou shuldest lye vnto the holy goost, & kepe awaye parte of the pryce of the lyuelod: Then sayd Peter, Ananias, how is it that Satan hath filled thyne hart, that thou shuldest lye vnto the holy Gost, and kepe away parte of the price of the possession?
5:4 Pertayned it not vnto ye only/ and after it was solde/ was not ye pryce in thine awne power? How is it yt thou hast cōceaued this thinge in thine herte? Thou hast not lyed vnto mē/ but vnto God. Pertayned it not vnto the onely? and after it was solde, was it not in thyne awne power? Why hast thou conceaued this thinge in thyne herte? Thou hast not lyed vnto men, but vnto God. Pertayned it not vnto the only, & after it was solde, was not the pryce in thyne awne power? How is it that thou hast conceaued this thinge in thyne herte? Thou hast not lyed vnto men, but vnto God. Pertayned it not vnto thee only, and after it was solde, was it not in thine owne power? how is it that thou hast conceaued this thing in thine hart? thou hast not lyed vnto men, but vnto God.
5:5 When Ananias herde these wordes/ he fell doune and gaue vp the goost. And great feare came on all thē yt these thingſ hearde. 5:6 And the younge men roose vp/ and put hym a parte/ and caryed him out/ and buryed him. And the yonge men rose vp, and put hym a parte, and caryed him out, and buryed him. 5:7 And it fortuned as it were aboute ye space of .iij. houres after that his wyfe came in/ ignoraunt of that which was done. 5:8 And Peter sayde vnto her: Tell me/ gaue ye ye lande for so moche? And he sayd: ye/ for so moche. And Peter sayde vnto her: Tell me, Solde ye not the lande for so moch? And she sayd: yee, for so moch. And Peter sayde vnto her: Tell me, gaue ye the londe for so moche? And she sayde: ye, for so moche. And Peter said vnto her, Tel me, solde ye the land for somuche? And she said, Yea for so much.
5:9 Then Peter sayde vnto her: why haue ye agreed to gether/ to tempt the sprete of the Lorde? Beholde the fete of them which haue buryed thy husbande/ are at the dore/ and shall cary the out. ‘Then Peter sayde vnto her : why haue ye agreed together, to tempt the sprete of the Lorde? 5:10 Then she fel doune strayght waye at his fete and yelded vp the goost. And the younge men came in/ and founde her ded/ and caryed her out/ and buryed her by her husbande. 5:11 And great feare came on all the congregacyon/ & on as many as hearde it. And great feare came on all the congregacyon, and on as many as hearde it. 5:12 By the handes of the Apostles were many signes & wondres shewed amonge ye people. And they were all to gether wt one accorde in Salomōs porche. 5:13 And of other durst no mā ioyne him selfe to thē: neuerthelater ye people magnified them. And of other, durst no man ioyne him selfe to them: neuerthelesse the people magnified them. 5:15 in so moche yt they brought the sicke into the strettes/ and layde them on beddes and palettes/ that at the lest waye the shadowe of Peter whē he came by/ myght shadowe some of them. in so moch that they brought the sicke into the stretes, and layde them on beddes and couches, that at the least waye the shadowe of Peter when he came by, myght shadowe some of them (and that they myght all be delyuered from theirinfyrmytycs) in so moche that they brought the sicke into the strettes, & layde them on beddes and palettes, that at the lest waye the shadowe of Peter when he came by, myght shadowe some of them. 5:16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about/ vnto Ierusalem/ bringynge sycke folkes/ & thē whych were vexed wyth vnclene spretes. And they were healed euery one. 5:21 When they hearde yt/ they entred into the tēple erly in ye morninge & taught. The chefe Prest came & they that were with him/ & called a counsell to gether/ and all the elders of the chyldren of Israel/ & sent to the preson to fet them. When they hearde that, they entred into the temple early in the mornynge: and taught. But the chefe Prest came and they that were with him, and called a counsell together, and all the elders of the chyldren of Israel, and sent men to the preson, to fet them. When they hearde that, they entred into the temple erly in the mornynge and taught. 5:22 When the ministres came and founde thē not in the preson/ they returned & tolde sayinge: When the mynystres came, and founde them not in the preson, they returned and tolde, When the ministres came and founde them not in the preson, they returned and tolde sayinge: But when the officers came, and founde them not in the prison, they returned and tolde,
5:23 ye preson founde we shut as sure as was possible/ and the kepers standinge without before the dores. But whē we had opened/ we founde no man with in. sayinge: the preson truly found we shut with all diligence, and the kepers standynge wythout before the dores. But when we had opened, we founde no man within. the preson founde we shut as sure as was possible, & the kepers stondynge with out before the dores. But when we had opened, we founde no man with in. Sayinge, Certeynly we found the prison shut as sure as was possible, and the kepers standing without, before the dores: but when we had opened, we founde no man with in.
5:24 Whē ye chefe Prest of all & the ruler of ye temple & ye hye Prestes hearde these thinges/ they douted of them/ wher vnto this wolde growe. When the chefe Prest and the ruler of the temple, and the hye Prestes hearde these thynges, they douted of them, wher vnto this wolde grow. 5:25 Then came one and shewed them: beholde the men that ye put in preson/ stande in ye tēple/ & teache the people. 5:26 Then went ye ruler of the temple with ministres/ & brought thē without violence. For they feared ye people/ lest they shuld haue bene stoned. 5:28 sayinge: dyd not we straytely commaunde you that ye shuld not teache in thys name? And beholde ye haue filled Ierusalem with youre doctrine/ & ye intende to bringe this mās bloud vpō vs. sayinge: dyd not we straytely commaunde you, that ye should not teach in this name? And behold, ye haue fylled Ierusalem wyth youre doctryne, and intende to brynge thys mans bloud vpon vs. sayinge: dyd not we straytely commaunde you that ye shuld not teache in this name? And beholde ye haue filled Ierusalem with youre doctrine, and ye intende to bringe this mans bloud vpon vs. Saying, Dyd not we straytely commande you, that ye shulde not teache in thys Name? and beholde, ye haue filled Ierusalem with your doctrine, and ye intende to bring this mans bloud vpon vs.
5:29 Peter and the other Apostles answered & sayde: We ought moare to obey God then men. Peter and the other Apostles answered, and sayde: We ought more to obey God then men. 5:31 Hym hath God lyfte vp with his ryght hand/ to be a ruler & a sauiour/ for to geue repentaunce to Israel & forgeuenes of synnſ. 5:32 And we are his recordes cōcerninge these thinges & also the holy goost whom God hath geuē to them that obey him. 5:36 Before these dayes rose vp one Theudas bostinge hym selfe/ to whō resorted a nōbre of men/ about a foure hondred which was slayn/ & they all which beleued hym were scatred a broode & brought to nought. For before these dayes rose vp one Thudas, boastynge hym selfe, to whom resorted a nombre of men, about a foure hondred, which was slain : and they all whych beleued hym, were scatred abroade, and brought to nought. Before these dayes rose vp one Theudas bostinge him selfe, to whom resorted a nombre of men, about a foure hondred which was slayn, & they all which beleued him were scatred a broode & brought to nought. 5:37 After thys man/ arose ther vp one Iudas of Galile in the tyme when trybute begā/ and drewe awaye moche people after him. He also perisshed: & all euen as many as harkened to him are scattered a brood. :ff After this man, was ther one Iudas of Galile in the dayes of the trybute, and drew away moch people after hym. He also perisshed and all, euen (as many as harkened to hym) were scattered abrode. 5:38 And now I saye vnto you: refrayne youre selues from these men/ let them alone. For yf the coūsell of this worke be of men/ it will come to nought. 5:39 But & yf it be of God ye cānot destroye it/ lest haply ye be founde to stryue agaynst God. But and yf it be of God, ye cannot destroye it, lest haply ye be founde to stryue agaynst God. 5:40 And to hym they agreed/ and called the Apostles/ and bet them/ and commaunded that they shulde not speake in the name of Iesu/ and let them go. 5:42 And dayly in ye tēple and in euery house they ceased not/ teaching and preachinge Iesus Chryst. And dayly in the temple and in euery house they ceased not, to teach and preach Iesus Chiyst.
