Acts: Chapter 1b

1:1 IN the former treatyse (Deare frende Theophilus) I haue written of all that Iesus beganne to do and teache/ IN the former treatyse (Deare Theophylus) we haue spoken of all that Iesus beganne to do and teach, IN the former treatise (Deare frende Theophilus) I haue written of all that Iesus beganne to do and teache, IN the former treatyse deare friend Theophilus, I haue written of all that Iesvs began to do, and teach,
1:2 vntyll the daye in whych he was taken vp/ after that he/ thorowe the holy goost/ had geuen cōmaundementes vnto the Apostles/ whych he had chosen: vntyll thedave in whych he was taken vp, after that he, thorow the holy goost, had geuen commaundementes vnto the Apostles, whom he had chosen: vntyll the daye in which he was taken vp, after that he, thorowe the holy goost, had geuen commaundementes vnto the Apostles, which he had chosen: Vntil the day in which he was taken vp, after that he through the holy Gost, had geuen commandementes vnto the Apostles, whome he had chosen.
1:3 to whō also he shewed him selfe alyue after his passion by many tokēs/ apperynge vnto them fourtye dayes/ & speakinge of the kyngdome of God/ to whom also he shewed him selfe alyue after his passion (and that by many tokens) appearinge vnto them fourtye dayes, and speakynge of the kyngdome of God, to whom also he shewed him selfe alyue after his passion by many tokens, apperynge vnto them fourty dayes, and speakynge of the kyngdome of God, To whom also he shewed him self alyue after his passion, by many infallible tokens, appearing vnto them by the space of fourty dayes, and speakyng of those tilings which apperteine to the kyngdom of God.
1:4 & gathered thē to gether/ and commaunded them/ that they shuld not departe from Ierusalem: but to wayte for ye promys of the father wherof ye haue herde of me. and gathered them together, and commaunded them, that ther shuld not departe from Ierusalem: but to wayte for the prongs of the father wherof (sayeth he) ye haue hearde of me. & gaddered them to geder, and commaunded them, that they shuld not departe from Ierusalem: but to wayte for the promys of the father wherof ye haue herde of me. And gathering them together, he commanded them, that they shulde not depart from Ierusalem: but to wayt for the promes of the Father, which layd he, ye haue heard of me.
1:5 For Iohn baptised wyth water: but ye shalbe baptised with the holy goost/ and that with in this feawe dayes. For Iohn truly baptysed wyth water: but ye shalbe baptysed with the holy goost after these feaw dayes. For Iohn baptised with water: but ye shalbe baptised with the holy goost, and that with in this feawe dayes. For Iohn truly baptized with water, but ye shalbe baptized with the holy Gost, with in these fewe dayes.
1:6 When they were come to gether/ they asked of hym sayinge: Lorde wilt thou at this tyme/ restore agayne the kyngdome to Israel? When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, sayinge: Lorde, wilt thou at this tyme. restore agayne the kingdom to Israel? When they were come to geder, they axed of him sayinge: Lorde wilt thou at this tyme, restore agayne the kyngdome to Israel? 1:7 And he sayde vnto them: It is not for you to knowe the tymes/ or the seasons whych the father hath put in his awne power: And he sayde vnto them: It is not for you to knowe the times, or the seasons, which the father hath put in hys awne power: And he sayde vnto them: It is not for you to knowe the tymes, or the seasons which the father hath put in his awne power: And he sayd vnto them, It is not for you to knowe the tymes, or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his owne power.
1:8 but ye shal receaue power of the holy goost whych shall come on you. And ye shall be wytnesses vnto me in Ierusalem/ and in all Iewrye and in Samary/ & euen vnto the worldes ende. but ye shall receaue power after that the holy goost is come vpon you. And ye shalbe wytnesses vnto me, not onely in Ierusalem, but also in all Iewry and in Samary, and euen vnto the worldes ende. but ye shall receaue power of the holy goost which shall come on you. And ye shall be witnesses vnto me in Ierusalem, and in all Iewrye and in Samary, & euen vnto the worldes ende. But ye shal receaue power of the holy Gost, when he shal come on you: and ye shalbe wytnesses vnto me both in Ierusalem, and in all Iewrie, and in Samaria, and euen vnto the vttermost partes of the earth.
1:9 And when he had spoken these thynges/ whyll they behelde/ he was taken vp/ and a cloude receaued hym vp oute of their syght. 1:11 whych also sayde: ye men of Galile/ why stande ye gasinge vp into heauē? This same Iesus which is taken vp frō you into heuē/ shall so come/ euē as ye haue sene him go into heauen. which also sayd: ye men of Galile, why stande ye gasynge vp into heauen? 1:12 Then returned they vnto Ierusalē from mount Olyuete/ whych is nye to Ierusalē/ cōteyninge a Saboth dayes iorney. 1:13 And when they were come in/ they wēt vp into a parler/ where aboode both Peter and Iames/ Iohn and Andrew/ Philip and Thomas/ Bartlemew and Mathew/ Iames the sonne of Alpheus/ & Simon Zelotes/ and Iudas Iames sonne. 1:14 These all cōtynued wyth one accorde in prayer and supplycacyon wyth the wemen and Mary the mother of Iesu/ and with his brethren. 1:16 Ye men & brethren this scripture must haue nedes ben fulfylled which the holy goost thorow ye mouth of Dauid spake before of Iudas/ which was gyde to them that toke Iesus. 1:19 And it is knowen vnto all the inhabiters of Ierusalem: in so moche yt that felde is called in their mother tonge/ Acheldama/ that is to saye/ the bloud felde. 1:20 It is writtē in the boke of Psalmes: hys habitacion be voyde/ & no man be dwellinge therin: & his Bisshoprycke let another take. For it is wrytten in the boke of Psalmes: His habitacion be voyde/ and no man be hys habitacyon be vovde, and no man be dwellinge therm: and his bisshoprycke dwelhnge therin: and his Bisshoprycke let another take. It is written in the boke of Psalmes: His habitacion be voyde, and no man be dwellinge therin: and his Bisshoprycke let another take. 1:21 Wherfore of these mē which haue cōpanyed with vs/ all the tyme that the Lorde Iesus went in and out amonge vs/ Wherfore of these ! let another take. 1:26 And they gaue forth their lottes/ and the lot fel on Mathias/ and he was counted with the eleuen Apostles.
