1:1 THe seneour to the electe lady and her children which I love in the trueth: And not I only: but also all that have knowē the trueth/ THe elder to the electe lady and her chyldren which I love in the trueth: and not I only/ but also all that have knowē the trueth/ THe elder to the electe lady and her chyldren which I loue in the trueth: and not I only/ but also all that knowen the trueth/ THE Elder. To ye electe lady and hir childrē whom I loue in the trueth: & not I onely, but all they also that haue knowne the trueth,
1:2 for the truthes sake/ which remayneth in vs/ and shalbe in vs for ever. or the truthes sake/ which dwelleth in vs/ and shalbe in vs for ever. for the truthes sake which dwelleth in vs/ and shalbe in vs for euer. for the truthes sake which dwelleth in vs, and shalbe with vs for euer.
1:3 With you be grace/ mercy/ and peace from God the father/ and from the lorde Iesus Christ the sonne off the father/ in trueth and love. With you be grace/ mercy/ and peace from God ye father/ & from the Lorde Iesus Christ the sonne of the father/ in trueth and love. With you be grace/ mercye/ and peace from God the father/ & from the Lorde Iesus Christ the sonne of the father/ in trueth and loue. Grace, mercy, and peace be with you frō the LORDE Iesus Christ ye sonne of the father in the trueth and in loue.
1:4 I reioysed greatly/ that I founde off thy children walkynge in trough/ as we have rcceaved a commaundement of the father. 1:5 And nowe beseche I the lady/ not as though I wrote a newe commaundement vnto the/ but that same/ which we had from the begynnynge/ that we shulde love one a nother. And nowe beseche I the lady/ not as though I wrote a newe commaundement vnto the/ but that same which we had frō the begynninge/ that we shuld love one another. And nowe beseche I the lady/ not as though I wrote a newe commaundement vnto the/ but that same which we had from the beginnynge/ that we shuld loue one another. And now lady I beseke the (not as though I wrote a new commaundement vnto the, but the same which we haue had from the begynnynge) that we loue one another.
1:6 And this is the love/ that we shulde walke after his commaundementſ. This commaundement is (that as ye have herde from the begynnynge) ye shulde walke in it. And this is the love/ that we shulde walke after his commaundementes. This commaundement is (that as ye have hearde from the begynninge) ye shuld walke in it. And this is the loue/ that we shulde walke after his commaundementes. This commaundement is (that as ye haue hearde from the beginnynge) ye shuld walke in it. And this is the loue, that we walke after his commaundementes. This is the commaundement (as ye haue herde frō the begynnynge) that we shulde walke therin.
1:7 For many deceavers are entred in to the worlde/ which confesse not that Iesus Christ is como in the flesshe. This is a deceaver and an Antichrist. 1:8 Loke on youre selves/ that we lowse not that we have wrought: but that we maye have a full rewarde. Take hede to youre selues, that we lose not that which we haue wrought, but that we maye receaue a full rewarde.
1:9 Whosoever trāsgresseth and by deth not in the doctrine of Christ/ hath not God He that endureth in the doctryne off Christ/ hath bothe the father/ and the sonne. Whosoever transgresseth and bydeth not in the doctrine of Christ/ hath not God. He yt endureth in the doctrine of Christ/ hath bothe the father and the sonne. Whosoeuer transgresseth and bydeth not in the doctryne of Christ/ hath not God. He that endureth in the doctryne of Christ/ hath bothe the father and the sonne. Who so euer transgresseth, and abydeth not in the doctryne of Christ, hath not God: he that abydeth in ye doctryne of Christ, hath both the father and the sonne.
1:10 Yff there come eny vnto you and brynge not this learnynge/ hym receave not to housse: nether bid hym god spede. Yf ther come eny vnto you & bringe not this learninge/ him receave not to housse: nether bid him God spede. Yf ther come eny vnto you and bringe not this learnynge/ him receaue not to housse: nether byd him God spede. Yf eny man come vnto you, and brynge not this doctryne, receaue him not in to the house, nether salute him:
1:11 For he that biddeth hym God spede/ is part taker off his evyll dedes. For he that biddeth him God spede/ is parttaker of his evyll dedes. For he that biddeth him God spede/ is partaker of his euyll dedes. for he that saluteth him, is partaker of his euell dedes.
1:12 I had many thynges to wryte vnto you/ neverthelesse I wolde nott wryte with paper and ynke: but I trust to come vnto you/ ād speake with you mought to mouth/ that oure ioye maye be full. I had many thinges to wryte vnto you/ neverthelesse I wolde not wryte with paper and ynke: but I trust to come vnto you/ & speake with you mouth to mouth/ that oure ioye maye be full. I had many thinges to wryte vnto you/ neuerthelesse I wolde not wryte with paper and ynke: but I trust to come vnto you/ and speake with you mouth to mouth/ that oure ioye maye be full. I had many thinges to wryte vnto you: neuertheles I wolde not wryte wt papyre and ynke, but I trust to come vnto you, and to speake with you mouth mouth, that oure ioye maye be full.
1:13 The sonnes off thy electe sister grete the Amen. The sonnes of thy electe syster grete the. Amen. The sonnes of thy electe syster grete the: Amen. The children of thy electe sister salute the. Amen.
