I Paul my selfe beseche you by the mekenes and softnes of Christ, which when I am present amōge you am of no reputacion, but am bolde towarde you beinge absent. I PAUL my selfe beseche you by the mekenes, and softnes of Christe, which when I am present among you am humble, but am bold towarde you beyng absent:
10:2 I beseche you that I nede not to be bolde when I am present (with that same cōfidence/ wherwith I am supposed to be bolde) agaynst some which repute vs as though we walked carnally. I beseche you, that I nede not to be bolde when I am preset (with that same confidence, wherwith I am supposed to haue bene bolde) agaynst some, which repute vs as though we walked carnally. I beseche you that I nede not to be bolde when I am present (with that same cōfidence, wherwith I am supposed to be bolde) agaynst some which repute vs as though we walked carnally. And this I require you, that I nede not to be bolde when I am present, with that same confidence, wherwith I thinke to be bolde agaynst some which repute vs thogh as we walked carnally.
10:3 Neuerthelesse though we walke cōpased with the flesshe/ yet we warre not fleshlye. For though we watte in the flesshe, yet we do not warre fleshlye. Neuerthelesse though we walke cōpased with the flesshe, yet we warre not fleshlye. Neuerthelesse, thogh we walke compassed with the fleshe, yet we do not •warre fleshly.
10:4 For the weapens of oure warre are not carnall thinges/ but thinges mighty in God/ to cast doune strōge holdes/ For the weapens of oure’ are not carnall thinges, but thinges mighty in God, to cast downe stronge holdes, For the weapens of oure warre are not carnall thinges, but thinges mighty in God, to cast doune strōge holdes, (For the weapons of our warrefare are not carnal thinges.but strong by the power of God, to cast downe holdes)
10:5 wherwith we ouerthrowe ymaginacions/ and euery hye thinge that exalteth it selfe agaynst the knowledge of God/ & bringe into captiuite all vnderstondinge to the obedience of Christ/ wherwith we ouerthrowe councels and euery hye thinge that exalteth it selfc agaynst the knowledge of God, and bringe into captiuitc all ymaginacion to the obedience of Christ, wherwith we ouerthrowe ymaginacions, and euery hye thinge that exalteth it selfe agaynst the knowledge of God, & bringe into captiuite all vnderstondinge to the obedience of Christ, Wherwith we ouerthrowe imaginations, and euery hye thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringe into captiuitie euery thoght, to the obedience of Christe,
10:6 and are redy to take vengeance on all disobedience/ when youre obedience is fulfilled. and are ready to take vengeance on all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfylled. and are redy to take vengeance on all disobedience, when youre obedience is fulfilled. And haue ready the vengeance on all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfylled.
10:7 Loke ye on thinges after the vtter apperaunce? Yf eny man trust in him selfe that he is Christes/ let the same also considre of him selfe/ that as he is Christes/ euē so are we Christes. Loke ye thinges after the vtter apperaunce? If any man trust in him selfe, that he is Christes, let him consydre this agayne of him selfe, that as he is Christes, euen so are we Christes. Loke ye on thinges after the vtter apperaunce? Yf eny man trust in him selfe that he is Christes, let the same also considre of him selfe, that as he is Christes, euē so are we Christes. Loke ye on thinges after the vtter appearance? If any man truste in hym selfe that he is Christes, let the same lykewise consider of him selfe, that as he is Christes, euen so are we Christes.
10:8 And though I shuld bost my selfe somewhat moare of oure auctorite which the Lorde hath geuē vs to edifie and not to destroye you/ it shulde not be to my shame. For though I bout my selfe more of oure auctorite (whveh the Lord hath geuen vs to edifie and not to destroye you) it shal not be to my shame: And though I shuld bost my selfe somewhat moare of oure auctorite which the Lorde hath geuē vs to edifie and not to destroye you, it shulde not be to my shame. For thogh I should boast my selfe some what more of our auctoritie, which the Lord hath geuen vs to edifie, and not to destroye you, I nede not to be ashamed.
10:9 This saye I/ lest I shuld seme as though I went about to make you a frayde with letters. lest I shuld seme, as though I went about to make you a frayd wrtb letters. This saye I, lest I shuld seme as though I went about to make you a frayde with letters. This I say leste I should seme to make you afrayed wyth letters.
10:10 For the pistles (sayth he) are sore & strōge: but his bodyly presence is weake/ & his speache is rude. For the epistles (sayth he) «n sore and strange : but his bodyly preten« is weake, and his speach rude. For the pistles (sayth he) are sore & strōge: but his bodyly presence is weake, & his speache is rude. For the letters (sayeth he) are sore and stronge, but his bodelye presence is weake, and his speach is of no value.
10:11 Let him that is soche thinke on this wise/ that as we are in wordes by letters when we are absent/ soche are we in dedes whē we are present. L hym that is soche, thinke on this wyse: that as we are in wordes by letters who we are absent, soche are we in dedes, whta we are present. Let him that is soche thinke on this wise, that as we are in wordes by letters when we are absent, soche are we in dedes whē we are present. Let hym that is suche, thinke that as we are in worde by letters when we are absent, suche wyl we he in dede, when we are present.
10:12 For we cannot finde in oure hertes to make oure selues of the nombre of them/ or to cōpare oure selues to them/ which laude thē selues/ neuerthelesse whill they measure thē selues with thē selues/ & cōpare thē selues with thē selues/ they vnderstonde nought. For we cannot fynde in oure hertes to make oure selues of the nombre of them, or to compare oure selues to them, wbyct prayse them selues. Neuerthelesse, whiH they measure them selues with them selues, and compare them selues wrih them selues, they vnderstande nougat. For we cannot finde in oure hertes to make oure selues of the nombre of them, or to cōpare oure selues to them, which laude thē selues, neuerthelesse whill they measure thē selues with thē selues, & cōpare thē selues with thē selues, they vnderstonde nought. For we dare not make our selues of the nomber, or to compare our selues to them, which praise them selues: but they vnder stand not that they measure them selues with them selues, and compare them selues with them selues.
10:13 But we will not reioyce aboue measure: but accordinge to the quantite of the measure which God hath distributed vnto vs/ a measure that reacheth euen to you. But we will not reioyce aboue measure i but according to the measure of the role, whych God hath distributedvntovs.ametsure to reache euen vnto you. But we will not reioyce aboue measure: but accordinge to the quantite of the measure which God hath distributed vnto vs, a measure that reacheth euen to you. But we wil not reioyce aboue measure, of things which are not with in the compas of our measure: but according to the measure of that line, wherof God hath distributed vnto vs, a measure, to reache euen vnto you.
10:14 For we stretche not out oure selues beyonde measure as though we had not reached vnto you. For euē to you haue we come with the gospell of Christ/ For we stretch not out oure selues beyonde measure, as though we reached not unto you. For euen to you also haue we come with the gospell of Christ, For we stretche not out oure selues beyonde measure as though we had not reached vnto you. For euē to you haue we come with the gospell of Christ, For we stretche not our selues beyonde our measure, as thogh we had not reached vnto you: for euen to you also haue we come in preaching the Gospel of Christ,
10:15 & we bost not oure selues out of measure in other mens labours. Ye & we hope/ when youre fayth is increased amōge you/ to be magnified accordinge to oure measure/ more largely and we boast not oure selues out of measure in other men’s labours. Yee and we hope it will com passe, that when youre fayth is increased amonge you, we shall be magnified accordinge to oure measure, more largely, & we bost not oure selues out of measure in other mens labours. Ye & we hope, when youre fayth is increased amōge you, to be magnified accordinge to oure measure, more largely Not boasting our selues of things which are without the compas of our measure: that is, of other mens labours: yea, and we hope, when your fayeth shal increase, to be magnified by you in our measure appointed vnto vs, and that abundantly.
10:16 and to preache the gospell in those regiōs which are beyōde you: and not to reioyce of that which is by another mans measure prepared all redy. and that I shall preache the gospell ia those regions which are beyonde Tou: and not to boast of those thinges, which by another man’s measure are all ready. and to preache the gospell in those regiōs which are beyōde you: and not to reioyce of that which is by another mans measure prepared all redy. And to preache the Gospel in those regions which are beyond you: not to reioyce in the measure, which is appointed to an other man, that is, in them that are prepared already.
10:17 Let him that reioyseth/ reioyse in the Lorde. But let him that reioyseth, reioyse in the Lorde. Let him that reioyseth, reioyse in the Lorde. But let him that reioyceth, reioyce in the Lord.
10:18 For he that prayseth him selfe/ is not alowed: but he whom the Lorde prayseth. For he that prayseth him selfe, is not alowed: but he whom the Lorde prayseth. For he that prayseth him selfe, is not alowed: but he whom the Lorde prayseth. For he that praiseth hym selfe, is not alowed, but he whome the Lord prayseth.
