4:1 FOr as moche as Christ hath suffered for vs ī the flesshe/ arme youre selves like wyse with the same mynde: for he which suffereth in the flesshe ceasith from synne/ FOr as moche as christ hath suffred for vs in the flesshe/ arme youre selves lyke wyse with the same mynde: for he which suffereth in the flesshe ceasith frō synne/ FOr as moche as Christ hath suffred for vs in the flesshe/ arme youre selues lyke wyse with the same mynde: for he which suffereth in the flesshe/ ceasith from synne/ FOr as moch then as Christ hath suffred for vs in ye flesh, arme youre selues likewyse with the same mynde. For he which suffreth in the flesh, ceasseth frō synne,
4:2 that he hence forwarde shulde live as moche tyme as remayneth ī the flesshe/ not after the lustes of men: butt after the will off God. that he hence forwarde shuld lyve as moche tyme as remayneth in the flesshe: not after ye lustes of men/ but after the will of God. that he hence forwarde shulde lyue as moche tyme as remayneth in the flesshe: not after the lustes of men/ but after the wyll of God. yt hēce forth (as moch tyme as yet remayneth in ye flesh) he shulde not lyue after the lustes of mē, but after the wil of God.
4:3 For it is sufficient for vs that we have spent the tyme that is past of the lyfe/ after the will of the gentyls/ walkynge in wantannes lustes/ dronkennes/ in eatynge/ drynkynge/ ād in abhominable ydolatrie. For it is ynough, yt we haue spent ye tyme past of the life, after the will of ye Heythen, whā we walked in wantannesse, lustes, dronkēnes, glotony, ryotous drynkynge, & ī abhominable Idolatrye.
4:4 And it semeth to them a straunge thinge that ye runne not also with them vnto the same excesse of ryote/ and therfore speake they evyll off you/ And it semeth to them a straunge thinge that ye runne not also with them vnto the same excesse of ryote/ & therfore speake they evill of you/ And it semeth to them a straunge thinge that ye runne not also with them vnto the same excesse of ryote/ and therfore speake they euyll of you/ And it semeth to thē a straunge thinge, yt ye runne not also wt them vnto the same excesse of ryote, & speake euell of you.
4:5 which shall geve a comptes to hym that is redy to iudge quycke and deed. which shall geve a cōptes to him that is redy to iudge quycke & deed. which shall geuē a cōptes to him that is redy to iudge quycke and deed. (Which shal geue acōptes vnto hī yt is ready to iudge ye quycke & ye deed.)
4:6 For vnto this purpose verely was the gospell preached vnto the deed/ that they shulde be iudged after the manner off men in the flesshe/ but shulde live godly ī the sprete. For vnto this purpose verely was ye gospell preached vnto the (deed) that they shuld be condempned of men in ye flesshe/ but shuld live before God in the sprete. For vnto this purpose verely was the gospell preached vnto the (deed) that they shulde be condempned of men in the flesshe/ but shulde liue before God in the sprete. For vnto this purpose also was ye Gospell preached vnto the deed, yt they shulde be iudged like other mē ī ye flesh, but shulde lyue vnto God in ye sprete.
4:7 The ende of all thyngſ is at honde. Be ye therfore discrete/ ād sober/ that ye maye be apte to prayres. The ende of all thingſ is at honde. 4:8 Butt above all thyngſ have fervent love a monge you. For love covereth the multitude of sīnes. But above all thinges have fervēt love amōge you. For love covereth the multitude of synnes. But aboue all thinges haue feruent loue amonge you. For loue couereth the multitude of synnes. but aboue all thinges haue feruent loue amonge you one to another. For loue couereth the multitude of synnes.
4:9 Be ye herbrous/ ād that with out grudgīge. Be ye herberous one to another & that wt out grudginge. Be ye herberours one to another/ and that with out grudginge. Be ye herberous one to another without grudginge,
4:10 As every mā hath receaved the gyfte/ minister the same one to another as good ministers of the manyfolde grace of god. As every man hath receaved the gyfte/ minister the same one to another as good ministers of the manyfolde grace of God. As euery man hath receaued the gyfte/ minister the same one to another/ as good ministers of the manyfolde grace of God. & mynister one to another, eueryone with the gifte yt he hath receaued, as good stewardes of the manifolde grace of God.
4:11 Yf eny mā speake/ let hī talke as thoughe he speake the wordes of god. Yf eny man minister/ let hī do it as of the abilitie which god ministreth vnto hī. That god in all thīgſ maye be gloryfied thorowe Iesus Christ/ to whō be prayse ād dominiō for ever and whyll the worlde stondeth Amen. Yf eny man speake/ let him talke as though he spake ye wordes of God. If eny man minister/ let him do it as of ye abilitie which god ministreth vnto him. That god in all thingſ maye be glorified thorow Iesus Christ/ to whom be prayse and dominion for ever and whyll the worlde stondeth. Amen. Yf eny man speake/ let him talke as though he spake the wordes of God. Yf eny man minister/ let him do it as of the abilite which God ministreth vnto him. That God in all thinges maye be glorified thorow Iesus Christ/ to whom be prayse and dominiō for euer & whyll the worlde stondeth. Amen. Yf eny mā speake, let hī speake it as ye wordes of God. Yf eny man haue an office, let him execute it as out of the power yt God mynistreth vnto hī, yt God maye be praysed in all thinges thorow Iesus Christ, To whō be honor and domynion for euer and euer Amen.
4:12 Derly beloved/ be not troubled in this heate/ which nowe is come amonge you to trye you/ as though some straūge thynge had happened vnto you: Dearly beloved/ be not troubled in this heate/ which now is come amōge you to trye you as though some straūge thinge had happened vnto you: Dearly beloued/ be not troubled in this heate/ which now is come amōge you to trye you/ as though some straūge thinge had happened vnto you: Derely beloued, maruell not at this heate (which is come amōge you to trye you) as though some straūge thinge happened vnto you:
4:13 but reioyce ī as moche as ye are parte takers of Christes passions/ thatt when his glory apereth/ ye maye be mery and gladde. but reioyce in as moche as ye are partetakers of Christes passions/ that when his glory appereth/ ye maye be mery and glad. but reioyce/ in as moche as ye are partetakers of Christes passions/ that when his glory appereth/ ye maye be mery and glad. but reioyce, in as moch as ye are partakers of Christes passiōs, yt whā his glory appeareth, ye maye be mery & glad.
4:14 Happy are ye whē ye suffre rebuke for the name of Christ. For the sprete of glory ād the sprete of god resteth apon you. On their parte he is evyll spoken of: but on youre parte he is glorified. If ye be rayled vpon for the name of Christ happie are ye. For the sprete of glory and the sprete of god resteth apon you. On their parte he is evyll spoken of: but on youre parte he is glorified. Yf ye be reuyled for ye name of Christ, blessed are ye, for ye sprete (which is ye sprete of glory & of God) resteth vpon you. On their parte he is euell spoken of, but on yor parte he is praysed.
4:15 Se that none of you suffre as a murtherer/ or as a thefe/ or an evyll doar/ or as a busybody in wother mens matters. Se that none of you suffre as a murtherer/ or as a thefe/ or an evyll doar/ or as a busybody in other mens matters. 4:16 Yff eny man suffre as a Christen man/ let hym not be ashamed: but let hī glorifie god on this behalfe. Yf eny man suffre as a Christē man/ let him not be ashamed: but let him glorifie god on his behalfe. If eny man suffre as a Christē man/ let him not be ashamed: but let him glorifie God on his behalfe. Yf eny man suffre as a Christen man, let him not be ashamed, but let him prayse God on this behalfe.
4:17 For the tyme is come that iudgement must begyn at the housse off god. Yf it fyrst begyn at vs/ what shall the ende be of them which beleve not the gospell off god? For the tyme is come that iudgement must begynne at the housse of god. Yf it fyrst begynne at vs/ what shall the ende be of them which beleve not the gospell of god? For ye tyme is come, that iudgmēt must begynne at the house of God. Yf it first begynne at vs, what shal the ende be of thē which beleue not the Gospell of God?
4:18 And yf the righteous scasly be saved: where shall all the vngodly and the sinner apere? And yf the righteous scasly be saved: where shall the vngodly & the sinner appere? And yf the righteous scasly be saued: where shall the vngodly & the synner appere? And yf ye righteous scacely be saued, where shal ye vngodly & synner appeare?
4:19 Wherfore let thē that suffer accordynge to the will off god/ cōmitt their soules to hym with well doynge/ as vnto a faythfull creator.
