3:1 LYke wyse let the wemen be in subieccion to their husbandſ/ that even they which beleve nott the worde/ maye with out the worde be wonne by the conversacion of the wyves: LYkewyse let the wyves be in subiecciō to their husbādes/ that evē they which beleve not the worde/ maye with out the worde be wonne by the conversacion of ye wyves: LIkewyse let the wiues be in subiecciō to their husbandes that euē they which beleue not the worde/ maye without the worde be wōne by the conuersacion of the wyues: LIkewyse let the wyues be in subieccion to their hussbandes, that euen they which beleue not the worde, maye without the worde be wonne by ye cōuersacion of the wyues,
3:2 whyll they beholde youre pure conversacion coupled with feare. whill they beholde youre pure cōversacion coupled with feare. whill they beholde youre pure conuersaciō coupled with feare. whan they beholde yor pure conuersacion in feare.
3:3 Whose aparell shall not be outwarde with broyded heare/ ād hāgynge on of golde/ other ī puttynge on of gorgious aparell: Whose apparell shall not be outwarde with broyded heare/ & hanginge on of golde/ other in puttinge on of gorgious aparell: Whose apparell shall not be outwarde with broyded heare/ & hanginge on of golde/ ether in puttinge on of gorgious apparell: Whose apparell shal not be outwarde wt broyded heer, & hanginge on of golde, or in puttynge on of gorgious araye,
3:4 but lett the hid mā of the herte be vncorrupt/ with a meke and a quyet sprete/ which sprete is before god a thyngc moche set by. but let the hyd man of the herte be incorrupt/ with a meke & a quyet sprete/ which sprete is before God a thinge moche set by. but let the hyd man of the herte be vncorrupt with a meke & quyet sprete/ which sprete is before God a thinge moche set by. but let ye inwarde mā of ye hert be vncorrupte wt a meke & a quyete sprete, which before God is moch set by.
3:5 ffor after this manner in the olde tyme did the wholy wemē which trusted ī god tyre thē selves/ and were obedient to their husbandes/ For after this maner in the olde tyme dyd the holy wemen which trusted in God/ tyer thē selves/ & were obediēt to their husbādes/ For after this maner in the olde tyme dyd the holy wemē which trusted in god/ tyer them selues/ and were obedient to their husbandes/ For after this maner in the olde tyme, dyd ye holy wemē which trusted in God, tyer thē selues, & were obedient vnto their hussbādes:
3:6 evē as Sara obeyd Abrahā ād called hī lorde: whose doughters ye are as longe as ye do wele. and be not afrayde of every shadowe evē as Sara obeyed Abrahā & called him Lorde: whose doughters ye are as longe as ye do well/ and be not afrayde of every shadowe. euen as Sara obeyed Abraham/ & called him Lorde: whose doughters ye are as longe as ye do well/ not beynge afrayde of euery shadowe. Euen as Sara obeyed Abraham, and called him lorde: whose doughters ye are, as lōge as ye do well, not beynge afrayed for eny trouble.
3:7 Lyke wyse ye mē dwell with them accordynge to knowledge/ gevynge honoure vnto the wyfe/ as vnto the weaker vessel/ and as vnto them that are heyres also of the grace of lyfe/ that youre prayers be not lett. Lyke wyse ye men dwell with them accordinge to knowledge/ gevinge honoure vnto the wyfe/ as vnto the weaker vessell/ & as vnto them that are heyres also of the grace of lyfe/ that youre prayers be not let. Lykewyse ye men/ dwell with them accordinge to knowledge/ geuinge honoure vnto the wyfe/ as vnto the weaker vessell/ and as vnto them that are heyres also of the grace of lyfe/ that youre prayers be not let. Likewyse ye men, dwell with them acordinge vnto knowlege, geuynge honor vnto the wife, as to the weaker vessel: & as vnto thē yt are heyres with you of the grace of life, that youre prayers be not let.
3:8 In conclusion/ be ye all of one mynde/ one suffre with another/ love as brethren/ be petifull/ be courteous/ In cōclusion/ be ye all of one mynde/ one suffre with another/ love as brethren/ be petifull/ be courteous/ In conclusion/ be ye all of one mynde/ one suffre with another/ loue as brethren/ be petifull/ be courteous/ But in conclusion be ye all of one mynde, one suffre with another, loue as brethren, be pitefull, be curteous.
3:9 not rendrynge evyll for evyll/ nether rebuke for rebuke: but contrary wyse/ blesse: remembrynge that ye are there vnto called/ evē that ye shulde be heyres of blessynge. not rēdringe evyll for evyll/ nether rebuke for rebuke: but contrary wyse/ blesse/ remembringe yt ye are thervnto called/ even yt ye shuld be heyres of blessinge. not rēdringe euill for euill/ nether rebuke for rebuke: but contrary wyse/ blesse remembrenge that ye are therunto called/ euen that ye shulde be heyres of blessinge. Recōpence not euell for euell, nether rebuke for rebuke: but cōtrary wyse, blesse: and knowe that ye are called therto, euen yt ye shulde be heyres of ye blessynge.
3:10 For who so listeth to love lyfe/ and to se good dayes/ let hī refrayne his tonge frō evyll/ and his lippes/ thatt they speake not gyle: If eny mā longe after life/ & loveth to se good dayes/ let him refrayne his tonge frō evyll/ & his lippes that they speake not gyle. If eny man longe after lyfe/ and loueth to se good dayes/ let him refrayne his tonge from euyll/ & his lyppes that they speake not gyle. For who so listeth to lyue, and wolde fayne se good dayes, Let him refrayne his tonge from euell, and his lippes yt they speake no gyle.
3:11 Let hym eschue evyll and do good: let hī seke peace/ and ensue it. Let him eschue evyll & do good: let him seke peace/ & ensue it. Let him eschue euyll and do good: let him seke peace/ & ensue it. Let him eschue euell, & do good: Let him seke peace and ensue it.
3:12 For the eyes of the lorde are over the righteous/ ād his eares are open vnto their prayers: butt the face off the lorde beholdeth them that do evyll. For ye eyes of ye Lorde are over ye righteous/ & his eares are open vnto their prayers. But ye face of the Lorde beholdeth thē that do evyll. For the eyes of the Lorde are ouer the righteous/ and his eares are open vnto their prayers. But the face of the Lorde beholdeth them that do euyll. For ye eyes of the LORDE are ouer the righteous, & his eares are open vnto their prayers. But ye face of the LORDE beholdeth thē yt do euell.
3:13 Moreover who is it that will harme you yff ye folowe that which is good? Moreover who is it that will harme you yf ye folowe yt which is good? Moreouer who is it that will harme you/ yf ye folowe that which is good? And who is it that can harme you, yf ye folowe that which is good?
3:14 not with stondynge happy are ye yff ye suffre for rightewesnessis sake. Neverthelesse feare not though they seme terrible vnto you/ nether be troubled: Not withstondynge happy are ye yf ye suffre for rightewesnessis sake. Ye and feare not though they seme terrible vnto you/ nether be troubled: Notwithstondinge happy are ye yf ye suffre for ryghtewesnesses sake. Ye and feare not though they seme terrible to you/ nether be troubled: Not withstōdinge blessed are ye, yf ye suffre for righteousnes sake Feare not ye their threatnynge, nether be troubled,
3:15 but sanctifie the lorde god in youre hertſ. be redy all wayes to geve an answere to every man that axeth you a reson of the hope that ye have/ ād that with meaknes ād feare: but sanctifie the Lorde God in youre hertes. Be redy all wayes to geve an answere to every man that axeth you a reson of the hope that is in you/ & that with meaknes and feare: but saynctifie the Lorde God in youre hertes. Be ready allwayes to geue an answere to euery mā, that axeth you a reason of the hope that is in you, and that with mekenes & feare,
3:16 havynge a good cōscience/ that whē they backbyte you as evyll doars/ they maye be a shamed/ for as moche as they have falcely accused youre god conversacion in Christ. havinge a good consciēce/ that when they backbyte you as evyll doars/ they maye be ashamed/ for as moche as they have falsely accused youre good conversacion in Christ. hauinge a good conscience/ that when they backbyte you as euyldoars/ they maye be ashamed for as moche as they haue falsely accused youre good conuersacion in Christ. hauynge a good conscience, that they which bacbyte you as euell doers, maye be ashamed, that they haue falsely accused youre good cōuersacion in Christ.
3:17 Hit is better (yf the wyll of god be so) that ye suffre for well doynge/ thē for evyll doynge. It is better (yf the wyll of God be so) that ye suffre for well doynge/ then for evyll doynge. It is better (yf the wyll of God be so) that ye suffre for well doinge/ then for euyll doynge. For it is better (yf the wyll of God be so) that ye suffre for well doynge, thē for euell doynge.
3:18 For as moche as Christ hath ōce suffered for sinnes/ the iuste for the vniuste/ forto brynge vs to god/ ād was killed/ as pertaynynge to the flesshe: but was quyckened in the sprete. For as moche as Christ hath once suffered for synnes/ ye iuste for ye vniuste/ forto bringe vs to God/ & was kylled/ as pertayninge to the flesshe: but was quyckened in the sprete. For as moche as Christ hath once suffered for synnes/ the iuste for the vniuste/ for to bringe vs to God/ & was kylled/ as pertayninge to the flesshe: but was quyckened in the sprete. For as moch as Christ hath once suffred for oure synnes, ye iust for the vniust, for to brynge vs to God: & was slayne after the flesh, but quyckened after the sprete.
3:19 In which sprete/ he also went ād preached vnto the spretes that were in preson/ In which sprete/ he also wēt & preached vnto the spretes that were in preson/ In which sprete he also went and preached vnto the spretes that were in preson/ In the which sprete he also wente, and preached vnto ye spretes that were in preson,
3:20 which were in tyme passed disobedient/ when the longe sufferynge of god abode excedīge paciently ī the dayes of noe/ whill the arcke was a preparynge/ whereī feawe (that is to saye viij. soules) were saved by water/ which were in tyme passed disobedient/ when the longe sufferinge of God abode excedinge paciently in the dayes of Noe/ whyll the arcke was a preparinge/ wherin feawe (that is to saye.viij soules) were saved by water/ which were in tyme passed disobedient/ when the longe sufferinge of God abode excedinge paciently in the dayes of Noe/ whyll the arcke was a preparinge wherin feawe (that is to saye .viij. soules) were saued by water/ which in tyme past beleued not, whan God once a bode and suffred paciētly in the tyme of Noe, whyle the Arke was a preparynge: Wherin fewe (that is to saye eight soules) were saued by water.
3:21 which signifieth baptī that nowe saveth vs/ not the puttynge awaye of the filth of the flesshe/ but ī that a good cōsciēce consenteth to god/ by the resurreccion of Iesus Cbrist/ which signifieth baptim that now saveth vs/ not ye puttinge awaye of ye filth of the flesshe/ but in that a good conscience consenteth to God/ by ye resurrecciō of Iesus Christ which signifieth baptyme that now saueth vs/ not the puttinge awaye of the filth of the flesshe/ but in that a good conscience consenteth to God/ by the resurreccion of Iesus Christ/ Which signifieth baptyme yt now saueth vs: not ye puttinge awaye of the fylth of the flesh, but in yt a good cōsciēce cōsenteth vnto God by ye resurreccion of Iesus Christ,
3:22 which is on the right honde of god/ and is gone into heven/ angels/ power/ and myght/ subdued vnto him. which is oure right honde of God & is gone into hevē/ angels/ power and myght subdued vnto him. which is on the ryght honde of God: and is gone into heauen/ angels/ powers & myght subdued vnto him. which is on the righte hande of God, and is gone in to heauē, angels, power and mighte subdued vnto him.
