2:01 HIt folowed in thoose dayes: that there wēt oute a commaundment from Auguste the Emperour/ that all the woorlde shulde be valued. ANd it chaunced in thoose dayes: yt ther went oute a cōmaundment from Auguste the Emperour/ that all the woorlde shuld be taxed. ANd it chaūced in those dayes: that ther went oute a cōmaundment from Auguste the Emperour/ that all the woorlde shuld be taxed. IT fortuned at the same tyme, that there wēte out a cōmaundement frō Augustus the Emperoure, that the whole worlde shulde be taxed.
2:02 This taxynge was fyrst executed when Syrenus was leftenaunt in Siria. And this taxynge was ye fyrst and executed when Syrenius was leftenaūt in Syria. And this taxinge was the fyrst and executed when Syrenius was leftenaūt in Siria. And this taxynge was the first that was executed, whan Syrenius was leftenaunt in Siria.
2:03 And every man wēt in to his awne shyre toune/ there to be taxed. And every man went vnto his awne citie to be taxed. And euery man went vnto his awne citie to be taxed. And they wente all, euery one to his owne cite to be taxed.
2:04 And Ioseph also ascended from Galile/ oute of a cite called Nazareth/ vnto iewry: in to a cite of David/ which is called bethleē/ because he was of the housse ād linage of David And Ioseph also ascended from Galile/ oute of a cite called Nazareth/ into Iurie: vnto ye cite of David which is called Bethleem/ because he was of the housse and linage of David/ And Ioseph also ascended from Galile/ oute of a cite called Nazareth/ into Iurie: vnto the cite of Dauid which is called Bethleem/ because he was of the housse & linage of Dauid/ Then Ioseph gat him vp also frō Galile, out of the cite of Nazareth, in to Iewry, to ye cite of Dauid, which is called Bethleem, (because he was of ye house and lynage of Dauid)
2:05 to be taxed with Mary his wedded wife/ which was with childe. to be taxed with Mary his spoused wyfe which was with chylde. to be taxed with Mary his spoused wyfe which was with chylde. that he might be taxed wt Mary his spoused wife, which was wt childe.
2:06 And it fortuned whill they there were/ her tyme was come that she shulde be delyvered. And it fortuned whyll they were there/ her tyme was come that she shuld be delyvered. 2:07 And she brought forth her fyrst begotten sonne. And wrapped hym in swadlynge cloothes/ and layed hym in a manger/ be cause there was no roume for them with in/ in the hostrey. 2:10 And the angell sayd vnto them: Be not afrayed Beholde I brynge you tydingſ off greate ioye/ that shall come to all the people: But the angell sayd vnto them: Be not afrayed. For beholde/ I bringe you tydinges of greate ioye yt shal come to all ye people: But the angell sayde vnto thē: Be not afrayed. For beholde/ I bringe you tydinges of greate ioye that shall come to all the people: And the angell sayde vnto them: Be not afrayed. Beholde, I brynge you tydīges of greate ioye, which shall happen vnto all people:
2:11 for vnto you is borne this daye in the cite of David a saveoure/ which is christ the lorde. for vnto you is borne this daye in the cite of David/ a saveoure which is Christ ye lorde. for vnto you is borne this daye in the cite of Dauid/ a saueoure which is Christ the lorde. for vnto you this daye is borne ye Sauioure, euē Christ ye LORDE, in the cite of Dauid.
2:12 And take this for a signe: ye shall fynde the childe swadled/ ād layed ī a māger. And take this for a signe: ye hall fynde ye chylde swadled & layed in a māger. 2:18 And all that herde itt wondred/ att thoose thynges which were tolde them off the shepherdſ. And all that hearde it/ wondred at those thinges which were tolde thē of the shepherdes. 2:21 And when the eyght daye was come thatt the chylde shuld be circūcised/ his name was called Iesus/ which was named off the angell before he was conceaved in his mothers wombe. 2:25 And beholde there was a mā in hierusalem/ whose name was Simeon. And the same man was iuste and feared god/ ād longed for the consolacion off israhel/ and the holy goost was in hym. 2:26 And an answer was gevē hym of the holy goost/ that he shulde not se deethe/ before he had sene the lordes Christ. 2:27 And he cam by inspiracion in to the temple. And as the father and mother broght in the chylde Iesus/ to do for hym after the custome of the lawe/ And he came by inspiracion in to the temple. 2:33 And his father and mother mervelled att thoose thingſ/ which were spoken off hym: And his father and mother mervelled at those thinges which were spokē of him. 2:34 And Simeō blessed them/ and sayd vnto Mary his mother: behold/ this childe shalbe the fall/ and resurrecciō off many in israhel/ And a signe which shalbe spokyn agaynste. 2:35 And moreover the swearde shall pearce the very hert off the/ that the thoughtſ of many hertſ maye be opened. 2:36 And there was Anna/ a prophetes/ the doughter of Phanuel of tribe of Aser. And she was off a greate age/ and had lived with an husbāde .vij. yere from her virginite. And ther was a Prophetesse/ one Anna/ the doughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Aser: which was of a greate age/ & had lyved with an husbande. vii. yeres from her virginite. And there was a prophetisse, one Anna, the doughter of Phanuel of the trybe of Aser, which was of a greate age, and had lyued seuen yeares with hir hussbāde from hir virginite,
2:37 And this wedowe was aboute .iiij. scoore and .iiij. yere off age/ which went never oute of the temple/ but served there with fastinge and prayer nyght and daye. And she had bene a wedowe aboute .iiii. scoore and .iiii. yere/ which went never oute of the temple/ but served God with fastinge & prayer nyght and daye. And she had bene a wedowe about .iiii. scoore and .iiii. yere/ which went neuer oute of the temple/ but serued God with fastinge & prayer nyght and daye. & had now bene a wedowe aboute foure score & foure yeares, which came neuer frō the tēple, seruynge God wt fastynge and prayenge, daye and night:
2:38 And she cam forth that same houre/ and praysed god/ ād spake of hym to all that loked for redempcion in hierusalem. And the same came forth that same houre/ and praysed the Lorde/ and spake of him to all that loked for redempcion in Hierusalem. 2:39 And as sone as they had performed all thingſ accordinge to the lawe off the lorde/ they returned into galile into their awne cite nazareth. 2:40 And the childe grewe and wexed stronge in sprete/ and was full off wysdom/ and the favour of god was with hym. And the chylde grewe and wexed stronde in sprete/ and was filled with wysdome/ & the grace of God was with hym. 2:41 And his father and mother went to hierusalem every yeare att the feeste of ester. And his father and mother went to Hierusalem every yeare at the feeste of ester. 2:42 And when he was xij. yere olde/ they went vppe to hierusalem after the custome of the feeste/ And when he was .xii. yere olde/ they went vp to Hierusalem after the custome of the feeste. And when he was .xii. yere olde/ they went vp to Hierusalem after the custome of the feeste. And whan he was twolue yeare olde, they wente vp to Ierusalem, after the custome of the feast.
2:43 And whē they had fulfilled the dayes/ as they returned home/ the chylde Iesus boode styll in hierusalem/ vnknowynge to his father and mother. 2:44 For they supposed he had bene ī the company. They cam a days iorney/ ād sought hym amonge their kynsfolke ād acquayntaunce/ For they supposed he had bene in the cōpany/ and therfore came a days iorney/ & sought him amōge their kynsfolke & acquayntaunce. 2:45 and founde hym not. They wēt backe agayne to hierusalem/ and sought hym. And when they founde hym not/ they went backe agayne to Hierusalem/ & sought him. And when they founde him not/ they went backe agayne to Hierusalem/ & sought him. And whā they founde him not, they wēte agayne to Ierusalē, and sought him.
2:46 And hit fortuned that after .iij. dayes/ they founde hym in the temple sittinge in the middes of the doctours/ both hearynge them/ and posinge them. And it fortuned after .iii. dayes/ that they founde him in the tēple/ sittinge in the middes of the doctours/ both hearynge them and posinge them. 2:48 And when they sawe hym/ they were astonyed. And his mother sayde vnto hym: sone why haste thou thus dealte with vs? Beholde thy father and I have sorowed ād sought the. And whan they sawe him, they were astonnyed. And his mother sayde vnto him: My sonne, why hast thou done this vnto vs? Beholde, thy father and I haue sought the sorowynge.
2:49 And he sayd vnto them: howe is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I muste goo aboute my fathers busines? And he sayde vnto thē: how is it yt ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must goo aboute my fathers busines? And he sayde vnto thē: how is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must goo aboute my fathers busines? And he sayde vnto them: What is it, that ye haue sought me? Wyst ye not, yt I must go aboute my fathers busynes?
2:50 And they vnderstod nott the saynge that he spake to them. And they vnderstode not ye sayinge that he spake to them. And they vnderstode not the sayinge that he spake to thē. And they vnderstode not the sayenge yt he spake vnto them.
2:51 And he went with them and cam to nazareth/ and was obedient to them. His mother kept all these thyngſ ī her hert. And he went with them/ & came to Nazareth/ & was obedient to thē. But his mother kept all these thinges in her hert. And he went with them/ and came to Nazareth/ & was obedient to thē. But his mother kept all these thinges in her hert. And he wente downe with thē, and came to Nazareth, and was obediēt vnto them. And his mother kepte all these wordes in hir hert.
2:52 And Iesus increased in wisdom ād age/ ād ī favoure with god and man. And Iesus increased in wisdom & age/ & in favoure with god and man. And Iesus increased in wisdome and age and in fauoure with god and man. And Iesus increased in wyssdome, age and fauoure with God and men.
