10:01 THere was a certayne man in Cesarea called Cornelius/ a captaine of the soudyers of ytaly/ THer was a certayne man in Cesarea called Cornelius/ a captayne of ye soudiers of Italy/ THer was a certayne man in Cesarea called Cornelius/ a captayne of the soudiers of Italy/ THere was a man at Cesarea, named Cornelius (a captayne of ye cōpany, which is called ye Italianysh)
10:02 a devoute man/ and won that feared God with all his houssolde/ which gave moche almes to the people/ and prayde God alwaye. a devoute man/ & one yt feared God wt all his housholde/ which gave moche almes to the people/ & prayde God alwaye. a deuoute mā/ and one that feared God with all his housholde/ which gaue moche almes to the people/ & prayde god alwaye. a deuoute man, & one that feared God wt all his house, & gaue moch almesse to ye people, and prayed God allwaye.
10:03 The same mā sawe in a vysion evydently aboute the nynthe houre of the daye the angell of god commynge in vnto hym/ and sayinge vnto hym: Cornelius. 10:04 when he loked on hym/ he was afrayde/ and sayde: what is it lorde? He sayde vnto hym: Thy prayers ād thy almeses ar come vppe in to remēbraunce in the presence of God. 10:09 On the morowe as they went on their iorney ād drewe nye vnto the cite/ Peter went vppe in to the vpermost parte of the housse to praye/ aboute the vj. houre. On the morowe as they wēt on their iorney & drewe nye vnto the cite/ Peter went vp into the toppe of ye housse to praye/ aboute the .vi. houre. On the nexte daye after whan these were goinge on their iourney, and came nye vnto the cite, Peter wente vp in to a chamber to praye aboute the sixte houre.
10:10 Then wexed he an hongred/ ād wolde have eaten. whill they made redy for hym He fell into a traunce/ Then wexed he an hongred/ & wolde have eatē. But whyll they made redy. 10:11 and sawe heven openned/ and a certayne vessell come doune vnto hym/ as it had bene a greate shete/ knytt at the iiij. corners/ and was lett doune to the erth/ & sawe heven opened and a certayne vessell come doune vnto him/ as it had bene a greate shete/ knyt at the .iiii. corners/ and was let doune to the erth/ & sawe heauen opened/ & a certayne vessell come doune vnto him/ as it had bene a greate shete/ knyt at the .iiij. corners/ and was let doune to the erth/ and sawe heauē open, and a vessell cōmynge downe vnto him, as it had bene a greate lynnē clothe, knytt at the foure corners, and was let downe to ye earth,
10:12 where in wer all maner of iiij. foted beastes of the erth and vermen ād wormes/ and foules off the ayer. where in wer all maner of .iiii. foted beastes of the erth & vermen and wormes/ & foules of the ayer. where in were all maner of .iiij. foted beastes of the erth/ and vermen and wormes/ and foules of the ayer. wherin were all maner of foure foted beestes of the earth, & wylde beestes, and wormes, and foules of the ayre.
10:13 And a voyce spake vnto hym from hevē: Ryse Peter Kyll and eate. And ther came a voyce to him: ryse Peter/ kyll & eate. And ther came a voyce to him: ryse Peter/ kyll & eate. And there came a voyce vnto him: Ryse Peter, slaye, & eate.
10:14 Peter sayde: God forbyd lorde/ for I have never eaten eny thynge that is commen or vnclene. But Peter sayde: God forbyd Lorde/ for I have never eaten eny thinge that is comen or vnclene. But Peter sayde: God forbyd lorde/ for I haue neuer eaten eny thinge that is comen or vnclene. But Peter sayde: Oh no, LORDE, for I neuer ate eny commen or vncleane thinge.
10:15 And the voyce spake vnto hym agayne the seconde tyme: What God had clensed thatt make thou not commen. And the voyce spake vnto him agayne the seconde tyme: what God hath clensed/ that make thou not comen. And the voyce spake vnto him agayne the secōde tyme: what God hath clensed/ that make thou not comen. And the voyce spake vnto him agayne ye secōde tyme: What God hath clensed, yt make not thou vncleane.
10:16 This was doune thryse And the vessell was receaved vppe agayne into heven. This was done thryse/ and the vessell was receaved vp agayne into heven. 10:17 Whyle Peter mused in hym silfe what this vision which he had sene meant/ beholde/ the men which were sent from Cornelius/ had made inquyrance for Simons housse/ and stode befor the dore. 10:18 And called oute wō and axed whether Simon which was also called Peter/ were lodged there. And called out won & axed whether Simon which was also called Peter were lodged there. And called out one & axed whether Simon which was also called Peter were lodged there. and called, and axed whether Simon (whose syrname was Peter) were lodged there.
10:19 Whyll Peter thought on this vysion/ the sprete sayde vnto hym: Loo/ men seke the. 10:21 Peter wēt doune to the men which were sent vnto hym from Cornelius/ and sayde: Loo/ I am he/ whom ye seke. what is the cause wherfore ye are come? Peter went doune to ye men which were sent vnto him from Cornelius/ & sayde/ Beholde/ I am he whom ye seke/ what is the cause wherfore ye are come? Then wente Peter downe to the men, yt were sent vnto him from Cornelius, and sayde: lo, I am he whom ye seke: what is ye cause, wherfore ye are come?
10:22 They sayde vnto hym: Cornelius the captayne a iuste man/ and won thatt feareth God/ and off good reporte amonge all the people of the iewes was warned by an holy angell/ to sende for the ī to his housse/ and to heare wordes of the. 10:23 Then called he them in/ and lodged them. On the morowe Peter went with them/ and certayne brethren from Ioppa accompanyed hym. Then called he them in/ and lodged them. 10:25 And as it chaunsed Peter to come in/ Cornelius met hym/ and fell doune at his fete/ and worshipped hym. 10:26 Peter toke hym vppe/ sayinge: Evyn I my silfe am a man. But Peter toke him vp sayinge: stonde vp: for evyn I my silfe am a mā. But Peter toke him vp sayinge: stonde vp: for euyn I my selfe am a mā. But Peter toke him vp, and sayde: Stonde vp, I am a man also.
10:27 And as he talked with hym he cam in/ and founde many that were come to gedder/ And as he talked with him he cam in/ and founde many that were come to gether. 10:28 And he sayde vnto them: Ye dooe knowe howe thatt hytt ys an vnlawefull thynge for a man beynge a iewe to company or come vn to an alient: But god hath shewed me that I shulde not call eny mā commen or vnclene: And he sayde vnto them: Ye do knowe how that yt ys an vnlawfull thynge for a man that is a Iewe/ to company or come vnto an alient: But god hath shewed me that I shuld not call eny man commen or vnclene: And he sayde vnto them: Ye knowe how that it is an vnlawfull thinge for a man that is a Iewe/ to comyany or come vnto an alient: but God hath shewed me that I shulde not call eny man commen or vnclene: and he sayde vnto them: Ye knowe, that it is not laufull for a man beynge a Iewe to ioyne him selfe or to come to a straunger. But God hath shewed me, yt I shulde call no mā cōmen or vncleane.
10:29 therfore cam I vnto you with outen scruple/ as sone as I was sent for. I axe you therfore: for what intend/ have ye sent for me? therfore came I vnto you with oute sayēge naye assone as I was sent for. I axe therfore/ for what intent have ye sent for me? therfore came I vnto you without sayinge naye/ assone as I was sent for. I axe therfore/ for what intent haue ye sent for me? Therfore haue I not douted to come, as soone as I was sent for. I axe you therfore, for what intent haue ye sent for me?
10:30 And Cornelius sayde: This daye nowe .iiij. dayes I fasted/ ād at the nynthe houre I prayde in my housse/ and beholde/ a mā stode before me in bright clothynge/ And Cornelius sayde: This daye now .iiii. dayes I fasted/ & at the nynthe houre I prayde in my housse: and beholde/ a man stode before me in bright clothynge/ And Cornelius sayde: This daye now .iiij yedas I fasted & at the nynthe houre I prayde in my housse: & beholde/ a mā stode before me in bright clothinge Cornelius sayde: It is now foure dayes agoo, then fasted I, and at the nyenth houre I prayed in my house, and beholde, there stode a mā before me in a bryghte clothinge,
10:31 and sayde: Cornelius/ thy prayer is herde/ and thyn almes dedes are had in remembraunce in the sight of God. and sayde: Cornelius/ thy prayer is hearde/ and thyne almes dedes are had in remembraunce in the sight of God. & sayde: Cornelius/ thy prayer is hearde & thyne almes dedes are had in remembraunce in the sight of God. and sayde: Cornelius, yi prayer is herde, and thine allmesse dedes are had in remēbraunce iu the sighte of God.
10:32 sende therfore to Ioppa/ and call for Simon which is also called Peter. He is lodged in the housse off wō Simon a tanner by the see syde/ the which as sone as he is come/ shall speake vnto the. 10:33 Thē sent I for the immediatly/ and thou hast well done for to come. Nowe are we all here/ present before god to heare all thynges that are commaunded vnto the of God. 10:36 Ye knowe the preachynge that God sent vnto the chyldren off Israhell/ preachynge them peace by Iesus Christe (which is lorde over all thynges) Ye knowe the preachynge that God sent vnto the chyldren of Israel/ preachinge peace by Iesus Christe (which is Lorde over all thinges: Ye knowe the preachinge that God sent vnto the chyldren of Israel/ preachinge peace by Iesus Christ/ which is Lorde ouer all thinges: Ye knowe of ye preachinge that God sent vnto the children of Israel, preachinge thorow Iesus Christ (which is LORDE ouer all)
10:37 which preachynge was publisshed thorow oute all iewery/ and began in galile/ after the baptim preached by Ihon/ Which preachinge was published thorow oute all Iewrye/ & begāne in Galile/ after the baptyme which Iohn preached/ Which preachinge was publisshed thorow oute all Iewrye/ and beganne in Galile/ after the baptyme which Iohn preached/ which preachinge was published thorow out all Iewry, and begāne in Galile after ye baptyme that Ihon preached,
10:38 After thatt God had annoynted Iesus off Nazareth with the holy goost/ and with power/ he went aboute doinge goode/ and healynge all that were oppressed with dyvles/ for God was with hym. how God had annoynted Iesus of Nazareth with the holy goost/ & with power/ which Iesus went aboute doinge good/ and healynge all yt were oppressed of the develles/ for God was with him. how God had annoynted Iesus of Nazareth with the holy goost/ & with power. 10:39 And we are witnesses off all thynges which he did in the londe of the iewes and at Ierusalem/ whom they slew/ and hounge on tree. 10:42 And he cōmaunded vs to preache vnto the people and to testifie/ that it is he that is ordened of God a iudge off quycke and deed. 10:43 To hym geveth all the prophetes witnes/ that throwe his name shall receave remission of synnes all that beleve in hym. 10:44 While Peter yet spake these wordes/ the holy gost fell on all them which herde his preachynge Whyle Peter yet spake these wordes/ the holy gost fell on all them which hearde the preachinge. Whyle Peter yet spake these wordes/ the holy goost fell on all thē which hearde the preachinge. Whyle Peter was yet speakynge these wordes, the holy goost fell vpō all thē that herkened vnto the worde.
10:45 And they of the circuncision which beleved were astonyed/ as many as cam with Peter/ because that on the gentyls also was sheed oute the gyfte of the holy gost. And they of ye circūcision which beleved/ were astonyed/ as many as came wt Peter/ because that on the Gentyls also was sheed oute ye gyfte of the holy gost. And they of the circumcision which beleued/ were astonyed/ as many as came with Peter/ because that on the Gentyls also was sheed oute the gyfte of the holy goost. And the faithfull of the circūcision which came with Peter, were astonnyed, because that the gifte of ye holy goost was shed out also vpon the Heythen.
10:46 For they herde them speake with tonges/ and magnify God. Then answered Peter: For they hearde them speake with tonges & magnify God. 10:47 can eny man forbyd water that these shuloe not be baptised/ which have receaved the holy gost as wele as we? can eny man forbyd water that these shuld not be baptised/ which have receaved the holy goost as well as we? can eny man forbyd water/ that these shuld not be baptised/ which haue receaued the holy goost as well as we? Maye eny man forbydde water, that these shulde not be baptysed, which haue receaued the holy goost as well as we?
10:48 And he cōmaunded them to be baptised in the name of the lorde. Then prayde they hym/ to tary a feawe dayes. And he cōmaunded them to be baptysed in the name of the Lorde.
