1:1 IN my fyrst treatise (Deare frende Theophilus (I have written off all that Iesus began to do ād teache/ IN the former treatise (Deare frende Theophilus) I have written of all that Iesus beganne to do & teache/ IN the former treatise (Deare frende Theophilus) I haue written of all that Iesus beganne to do and teache/ THE first treatise (deare Theophilus) haue I made of all that Iesus beganne to do and to teache,
1:2 vntill the daye in the whiche he was takē vp/ after that he thorowe the holy goost/ had geven commaundementſ vnto the Apostles/ whiche he chose: vntyll the daye in the which he was taken vp/ after that he thorowe the holy goost/ had geven commaundementes vnto the Apostles/ which he had chosen: vntyll the daye in which he was taken vp/ after that he/ thorowe the holy goost/ had geuen commaundementes vnto the Apostles/ which he had chosen: vntyll ye daye that he was taken vp, after that he (thorow the holy goost) had geuen commaundementes to to the Apostles, whom he had chosen:
1:3 to whō also he shewed hym silfe alive/ after his passion by many tokens/ aperynge vnto them fourty dayes/ ād spake vnto them off the kyngdom of god/ to whom also he shewed him selfe alyve/ after his passion by many tokens/ apperynge vnto them fourty dayes/ & speakynge of the kyngdome of god/ to whom also he shewed him selfe alyue after his passion by many tokens/ apperynge vnto them fourty dayes/ and speakynge of the kyngdome of God/ to whō also he shewed himself alyue after his passion, by many tokēs, and appeared vnto them fourtye dayes longe, and spake vnto them of the kyngdome of God.
1:4 and gaddered them to gedder/ and cōmaunded them/ that they shulde not departe from Ierusalē: but to wayte for the promys of the father/ wher of ye have herde off me. & gaddered them togeder/ and commaunded thē/ that they shuld not departe from Ierusalem: but to wayte for ye promys of the father/ whereof ye have herde of me. & gaddered them to geder/ and commaunded them/ that they shuld not departe from Ierusalem: but to wayte for the promys of the father wherof ye haue herde of me. And whan he had gathered them together, he commaunded them that they shulde not departe from Ierusalem, but to wayte for the promyse of the father, wherof (sayde he) ye haue herde of me:
1:5 For Ihon baptised wyth water butt ye shalbe baptised with the holy goost/ and that wyth in this feawe dayes. For Iohn baptised wt water: but ye shalbe baptised with the holy goost/ & that with in this feawe dayes. For Iohn baptised with water: but ye shalbe baptised with the holy goost/ and that with in this feawe dayes. For Ihon baptysed with water, but ye shalbe baptysed wt ye holy goost, & that within this few dayes.
1:6 When they were come togedder/ they axed of hym/ sayinge: Master wilt thou at this tyme restore agayne the kyngdom of israhel? When they were come togeder/ they axed of him sayinge: Lorde wilt thou at this tyme restore agayne ye kyngdome to Israel? When they were come to geder/ they axed of him sayinge: Lorde wilt thou at this tyme/ restore agayne the kyngdome to Israel? Now whan they were come together, they axed him, and sayde: LORDE, shalt thou at this tyme set vp the kyngdome of Israel agayne?
1:7 He sayde vnto them: It is not for you to knowe the tymes or the seasons which the father hath putt in hys awne power: And he sayde vnto them: It is not for you to knowe the tymes/ or the seasons which ye father hath put in his awne power: And he sayde vnto them: It is not for you to knowe the tymes/ or the seasons which the father hath put in his awne power: But he sayde vnto them: It belongeth not vnto you to knowe the tymes or seasons, which the father hath kepte in his awne power,
1:8 but ye shall receave power off the holy goost which shall come on you. And ye shalbe witnesses vnto me in Ierusalem/ and in all iewery/ and in samary/ and even vnto the worldes ende. but ye shall receave power of the holy goost which shall come on you. And ye shall be witnesses vnto me in Ierusalem/ & in all Iewrye and in Samary/ and even vnto the worldes ende. but ye shall receaue power of the holy goost which shall come on you. And ye shall be witnesses vnto me in Ierusalem/ and in all Iewrye and in Samary/ & euen vnto the worldes ende. but ye shal receaue the power of ye holy goost, which shal come vpon you, and ye shalbe my witnesses at Ierusalem, and in all Iewrye and Samaria, and vnto the ende of the earth.
1:9 And when he had spoken these thyngſ/ whyll they behelde he was taken vp/ and a cloude receaved hym vp out of their sight. 1:10 And as they fastenned their eyes in heven/ as he went/ loo two men stode by them in white clothynge/ And while they looked stedfastly vp to heaven as he went/ beholde two men stode by them in white apparell/ And whyle they looked stedfastly vp to heuen as he wēt/ beholde two men stode by thē in whyte apparell/ And whyle they loked after him, as he wente in to heauen, beholde, there stode by them two men in whyte garmentes,
1:11 which also sayde: ye men of galile/ why stonde ye gasynge vp into heven? This same Iesus which is taken vp from you in to heven/ shall soo come/ evē as ye have sene hym goo into heven. which also sayde: ye men of Galile/ why stonde ye gasinge vp into heavē? This same Iesus which is taken vp frō you in to heaven/ shall so come/ even as ye haue sene him goo into heaven. which also sayde: ye men of Galile/ why stonde ye gasinge vp into heauen? This same Iesus which is taken vp from you into heuen/ shall so come/ euen as ye haue sene him go into heuen which also sayde: Ye men of Galile, Why stonde ye gasynge vp in to heauen? This Iesus which is takē vp from you in to heauen shal come euen so as ye haue sene him go in to heauen.
1:12 Then returned they vnto Ierusalem frō mount olivete/ which is neye to Ierusalem/ cōteynynge a saboth dayes iorney. 1:13 And whē they were come in/ they went vp into a parler/ where abode both Peter ād Iames/ Ihō and Andrew/ Phillip ād Thomas/ Bartlemew ād Mathew/ Iames the sonne off Alpheus/ and Simon Zelotes/ and Iudas Iames sonne. And when they were come in/ they went vp into a parler/ where abode both Peter & Iames/ Iohn & Andrew/ Philip & Thomas/ Bartlemew & Mathew/ Iames the sonne of Alpheus/ & Simō zelotes/ & Iudas Iames sonne. And when they were come in/ they went vp into a parler/ where aboode both Peter and Iames/ Iohn and Andrew/ Philip and Thomas/ Bartlemew and Mathew/ Iames the sonne of Alpheus/ and Simon zelotes/ and Iudas Iames sonne. And whan they came in, they wente vp in to a parler, where abode Peter and Iames, Ihon and Andrew, Philippe and Thomas, Bartilmew and Mathew, Iames the sonne of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Iudas the sonne of Iames.
1:14 These all continued with one acorde/ in prayer/ ād supplicacion with the wemen/ and Mary the mother off Iesu. And with his brethren. 1:16 Ye men and brethren/ thys scripture must nedſ be fulfilled which the holy goost thorow the mougth of David spake before of Iudas/ which was gyde to them that toke Iesus. 1:17 For he was noumbred with vs and obtayned felliship in this ministracion. For he was noūbred with vs & had obtayned fellouship in this ministracion. 1:18 And he hath nowe possessed a plott of grounde with the rewarde off iniquyte. And when be was hanged/ brast a sondre in the myddes/ and all his bowels gusshed out. 1:19 And it is knowen vnto all the inhabiters off Ierusalem. In somoche that that felde is called in their mother tonge/ Acheldema/ that is to saye the bloud felde. And it is knowē vnto all the inhabiters of Ierusalem: in so moche that that felde is called in their mother tonge/ Acheldama/ that is to saye/ the bloud felde. 1:20 Hit is written in the boke off psalmes/ His habitacion be voyde/ and noo man dwellynge therin: and his bisshoprycke lett another take. It is written in the boke of Psalmes: His habitaciō be voyde/ and no man be dwellinge therin: and his bisshoprycke let another take. 1:21 Wherfore off these men which have companyed with vs (all the tyme that the lorde Iesus went out and in amonge vs/ Wherfore of these mē which have cōpanyed with vs/ all ye tyme that the Lorde Iesus wēt in & out amonge vs/ Wherfore of these men which haue companyed with vs/ all the tyme that the Lorde Iesus went in and out amonge vs/ Wherfore amonge these men which haue bene gathered together with vs (all the tyme that the LORDE Iesus wēte out and in amonge vs,

1:26 And they gave forthe their lottes/ and the lott fell on Mathias. And he was counted with the elevē apostles.
